There is something that never fails to mystify me while playing a backstabber light, and it is the long range snipers who seemingly completely fail to notice that they are dying. I understand if they are simply to slow at turning to get a shot off before they die, but the players who take 3+ shots to the back and never even start to turn around amaze me every time.
Short version is it's a real world phenomenon called "Target fixation," and it's very much worsened by the lack of rearview mirrors in the game. Sure, you have the third person drone, but nobody uses them in the game already and it's even harder to remember to turn it on in the heat of the moment.
@@stormthrush37 Just to add, you can train yourself out of it. Take seismic sensors, learn to glance at it between shots, keep an eye on the mini map, listen to comms. Sadly it doesn't help in many cases. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen a wolf pack incoming with these simple tricks warned a group over coms and turned to face the threat. Meanwhile the group I am with has just continues blithely on, deep in enhanced zoom waiting for the DWF at 1500m to pop out of cover. Sad times.
I will literally stop shooting other mechs, to blast a light, and it's because of the low grade ptsd you've given me over ONE encounter. You're a true master of the field my dude, keep up the good work! Now i know to check my corners even more thouroughly.
I love teaching players that when they optimize their mech that they still need rear armor. So many fail to learn that lesson and get pissy when they get punished for it.
@@the_sneaky_snek yeah, I figured there was no way to make it fit without stripping the side torsos and legs. Am I a pussy for running 4srm6 2srm2 and full armor?
Me : "sees this" Me, somewhere in the back of my autistic brain : "We have met before haven't we?" Edit : Went to watch some of your other vids and YT really hates you cuz they are xtremly laggy for some reason...
