On windows latency free monitoring can be found in sound settings, go to "Playback" tab, right click the mic as the output device and go to properties, go to levels tab and unmute the "Microphone" and adjust the slider as necessary. Not sure how to do it on mac but this might give you some ideas.
Thank you for this video. My only question is what does the headphone jack do for this microphone? I mean can I connect it to Creative's sound blasterx g6? I would really appreciate any answer.
I have the problem with this mic - MXL Tempo while monitoring by plug-in the headphone into the mic's phone jack. The voice comes out very low, even I have to use the Windows audio device to adjust the monitoring level. My headphone/in-ear/earbud are very low/weak even when run through the headphone amp I have. When I use this mic and set the mic as the speakers, I can only hear the sound from other programs from my pc/notebook such as RU-vid, Spotify that I'm listening to but my voice to the mic is extremly low. Anyone could help me, please.
For $20 it's a steal dammit. A double steal if you can get the headphone output to work (on Widows maybe?). I bet you could stick it in a Neewer shock mount, add the same brand scissor arm and pop filter and you'd have a pretty decent first recording rig.
