Tommy didnt write that song, it’s credited to Joey and Dee Dee, but Richie was the drummer on that album and was understood to be a big piece of the song writing.
Yeah a lot of people aren't aware that Johnny Ramone was a right wing Republican and big fan of Ronald Reagan. He hated this song and argued with Joey about it a lot.
@@samuelstalcup yea, i believe tommy only wrote “blitzkrieg bop” (“animal hop”) and “i wanna be your boyfriend”. He was long gone from the band by the time of this sing (1986), except for producing.
Hell NO!!!! JOHNNY had nothing to do with writing this song. He hated the song. He wanted it to be off the album and not recorded. He was out voted. He got token victory with change the title of the song to My Brain is Hanging Upside Down
Johnny hated this song. He was a right wing Republican and resented the other band members for writing a song criticizing Reagan, who he was a big supporter of.
