I just read all these comments.. I grew up with listening to you guys and I can't believe what these people are saying.. you guys are sooo amazing!!! Love and hugs!!
LoL....I got a weird déjà-vue feeling when the Jenna girl got on stage, then when the camera Focust on the crowd, i saw myself O_o!! Then realized it was on the Pouzza Fest, and i was on a two day bender : sss. Thx for the vid, before seeing it, i didn't even knew i once saw MXPX.
My first time was in Houston at a place called "Numbers" for Mxpx. The Hippos opened the show. I think it was 1998 or 1999. I was 16 or 17. Can't remember the year, but will never forget the time!
still my all time favorite band and all throughout jr high and high school saw them many times and as long as they come to the closest major city I'll still continue to see them. In my opinion they were always so underrated and i think thats why i like them so much
They, as many, used the Tooth & Nail label to get crazy exposure in a market that they would’ve never reached for PK’s like me that could only buy albums from Christian Bookstores. Those that saw them outside of Cornerstone and on tour with other T&N bands will never get it.
He still plays shows around the Seattle area once and awhile and I believe that he still plays drums for any of the new albums, he just doesn't tour. He now mostly works at the submarine base.
he knows just what to do when it comes to the girls.. glad that he keeps his scat and takes us back to school so to speak with his"Batata Batata Batata dude dude"
Hi everyone here in the MXPX video. We are band La Obra de Marte. We are fans of MXPX as well. We are from Puerto Rico. We play music influenced by this kind of punk plus another kind of musics, if you would like to take a listen to us you can go to our channel. and take a listen. We hope you like it. La Obra de Marte Incertidumbre (Single 2013)
@@Realigigi This is a bit harsh. They've gotten older. But none of them are making oodles of cash doing this. To my understanding, Mike is the only one doing music full-time. The others hold down other jobs and tour on occasion.
They still together. This is not MxPx, I'm not sure if it's the MxPx All Stars or whatever... but trust me, the reason they sound different isn't the 4 piece thing. It's Mikes Voice, and the fact that he's singing it different and I think possibly in a Lower Key. I've seen them do it before. They are all older and have families, so seeing the actual Band is harder than ever before. Many Bands are doing it. Either way, he's singing it like crap here. And no Drummer is like Yuri!
if this was mixed different it might not sound completely zapped of energy. its so tired sounding. go watch the video "MXPX - It came from Bremerton" vid here on youtube if you want to hear some energy.
oh boy. I love mxpx, but.... they should not be rocking anymore, it almost hurt to watch that. I will be happy living on my memories of them playing at the chameleon with no motive. Why no Yuri? Arhur Karma?
Well...They were on a semi-christian label (tooth and nail) but no, I never really considered them a "christian band" I think there were a lot of tooth and nail bands that were not really christian. And who knows, maybe they were at one point and walked away.
+Dylan Pierce Mike is now a confessed agnostic and said they were Christians back in the day. he also said that Tooth and Nail didn't really care if you were a "Christian band" per say. just if you had maybe one Christian in the band they would sign you.
Never heard, Christian or not they still rock! Thrice is also but I think Dustin sticks more true lol, check them out too. Good ole clean punkrawk for days 💪
@@dylantp I'm a little late here but tooth and nail was originally comprised solely of Christian bands. MxPx being the most popular. I saw them live the first few times they went on multi-state tours. They played in churches each time. Read all of the lyrics from their first album, Pokinatcha Punx. After that you'll know for sure they began as a Christian band. Though now I believe Mike Herrera claims to be an atheist.
Two things: Thank you Tom for being such a class act and cluing her in on the verge of a wardrobe malfunction And... Where was Yuri? And who was this Not-Yuri?
I'm not really too sure about faith myself these days but I do know one thing is for sure. Mxpx has never been the type of band to talk like Mike just did. It just doesn't fit with their music at all. I could care less what he does with his life honestly. I just think it comes off lame trying to pander to a crowd. Maybe thats how he always felt about christians...lol. Who knows, but he sure did take their money!
That's exactly what I was thinking. I grew up in high school listening to MxPx, and I always thought they were a "nice little Christian band." LOL I guess I was just pathetically naive all these years. Now that I see this vid, it's like the light bulb came on and I'm like, "Of COURSE he talks like that. He's in a C-list punk band from the 90's that still tours around and sings about being a chick magnet and whatnot." It's like I couldn't see what was right in front of my face for the last 20 years haha. It's kind of sad, really.
Jesus is Lord people! Mike can play what he wants, and he's not old imho. I'd like to hear more balls for Christ, but that's just me I guess. Get this, Nobody Special is back and the geriatric crew is gonna show you what righteous punk rawk sounds like!
Yeah, he's doing fine! Tom and Yuri don't really tour any more (although Tom was at Pouzza last year...obviously) It's still very much in Mike's blood though!
Ramon Jesse Figueroa Yeah, well they kinda split up but no hard feelings that I know of, it's still in Mike Herrera's bones to carry on the legacy that is MXPX, it may not be the same, but it's better than nothing, in my opinion. Cheers!
Seen them about 5 times....they use to be good when I was younger...not so much now..plus Yuri is gone. Had a bunch of their cd's...Couldn't agree with "Daniel Vanden Brink " more Mike is well...not so great. Not sure if he will see these post..but if I could ask Mike something it would be "Why?"
+Shaun Davis Yeah, maybe a little bit. Seems like age could possibly be a contributing factor. Mike just doesn't seem to be super thrilled to be there.
What was an amazing show, Mike stepped on my girlfriend like 4 times lol. You can see me, I'm a blonde kid with a girl with purple-ish/red-ish hair in front of Mike the whole time, we between a bald guy and a very tall/long haird dude!
Mike seems weird here, not the swearing I could care less I didn’t even notice when he said it, but i just saw them like 4 months ago and he was way more exited there then here
***** he's 38, but you're close. Jerry Only is 59, should he give up The Misfits? If you think he's too old, go listen to Katy Perry, that music is more fitting for you.
Recording was terrible too - way too much compression. Can make a bigger difference in your impression of a band than you think. Also, how many times do you think they've played these songs? lol...they seemed a little bored and rightfully so.
