I think that this is the second video of yours that I have come across when I am looking of reviews of gear I may buy and I am always amazed that your videos have so few views. This is the best review of this pedal and one of the best reviews of any pedal. Like my last comment on another of your videos, this should have a million views minimum. I am a career musician and take comfort in knowing that those of us who have a clue realize your talent and the production quality of your videos. And fine playing as well, sir. Really fierce riffs. Great video as always. I think that MXR has the most consistent line of pedals, well build, great sounding and relativily low prices. Another great pedal is the MXR M75 Super Badass Distortion. Although is a distortion and not an overdrive I like it a lot. It has an active EQ (wide spectrum), so must be used with caution. Another great pedal to push an amp is the Xotic's BB Preamp, lots of sustain with this one.

I'm like you and like anything about this pedal except that 100Hz knob. Musician's Friend had this as their special of the day over the weekend. Would have been a good buy. MXR makes a fine line of pedals. If I had to pick one brand pf pedals for a complete themed pedalboard it might be MXR. I'd probably use the Distortion+ because it's a close cousin circuit-wise to the DOD 250 and I like the "gray-spec" overdrive sound. Boss is good too overall, just not the DS-1 unless you're a beekeeper and that is a nightmare for me!

I liked that pedal. Didn't sound as nosey at first as your fender YJM overdrive . ;). The bump must bump up the mids. I really liked the tone all the way up too. What noise gate are you using may I ask? Great playing and great demos man. Thanks so much.

My honest opinion is I've always liked mxr stuff over the past 30 years, which part of those sound great and I just bought it hopefully it will sound decent with my rig, but this is a big but, they're getting ridiculously priced with some of their products.

I use the MXR EVH Overdrive has a Mid Boost and Noise Reduction which will go Off when Disengaging, Most Overdrives need NR But with EVH Pedal You only have to Click Once!

It’s a tube screamer. That’s what they mean with the modified O.D. They added a 100Hz knob and a bump switch to a tube screamer.

that is a decent sounding pedal..read my mind though on the darkness of the pedal..i swear sounded like you were playing a les paul on some riffs ...until the leads cut through ..

I bought this one last year. Not to gone on it. It’s a bit too 70s, but great for Stones and blues. It’s hard to get it to sing on a solo setting.

If I'm gonna use this with the badass distortion ,should it come first or after that pedal. These are both going into a clean ss amp.

I just don't like pedals is my problem. I want my gain from the amp. I do use a Steve Vai 2 Morley wah, but other than that and maybe a boost pedal to kinda have a sustain boost I really dislije pedals. I'm 57 though and when I started playing there were like nothing but horribly noisey fuzz pedals, etc back in the 70z. Yikes. I'm old. LoL. 😛👍✌👍

Why making a vid if you know nothing about the pedal? It's not even funny... The pedal is modded from the Distortion+ De bumb switch give it more balls.
