A little dab will do ya.... lol
I took some JB Weld and fixed the full rotation problem I was having... only took a small amount and it fixed my problem! I was having a +/- full grain swing on the powder drops... now I have a =/- .04 grain swing using Alliant Sport Pistol powder.
Lee wanted me to return the powder measure so they could take a look at it and fix it...because it was several years old it was going to cost me 1/2 the current retail price plus shipping to have them look at it. $.05 beats the hell out spending $50!
I spoke with John Lee on 10-6-2021 and he told me the reason for the play in the links was because of the safety disconnect they used to offer on the powder measure. They have quit offering the safety disconnect. He said they might look into removing the excessive play.

I had the same problem and drilled a 1/16" hole through the rod and the lower bracket and inserted a small finish nail through the hole and snipped the xtra off.

Anything that fixes a problem is solid gold, in my book! When you are loading, you sure don’t want a problem like that. Thank you for sharing!

I found your video after experiencing inconsistent measures from 5.0-7.2 never the same measure. It worked for 4.5 years perfectly, then it stopped being consistent. Lots of play in the gear, like you mentioned, "slop," I'm surprised that after replacing the 2 parts you mentioned it didn't fix it. I would have guessed with new parts there wouldn't be slop as it isn't worn. But, I have JB weld in the garage so I'll give that a go. Thank you for posting the fix.

Your more then welcome. The fix has worked great for me... no more giant fluctuations in drops.

@@papasplace2 It worked!!!! Took like 10 minutes to do and a few hours waiting the epoxy to dry. I contacted Lee tech support and nothing they said to do made a difference. They told me the reason I'm not getting full rotation was because I didn't have the unit tight enough on the powder though expanding die. That was ridiculous.

Thanks. I'll go look for your other video on disassembly. I've done it before but I don't remember the trick for getting total threaded portion with the thumb knurl out

You've got a worth while hobby Les. With the cost of rounds these days reloading has to be a viable option.

I was having the same problem and getting very erratic and inconsistent charges. I drilled and tapped that first shelf you put jb weld on and put a set screw in it. Now I can keep adjusting it if it wears out.

I consider the money I've spent on an autodrum wasted. The dumb upsidaisium powder bottle makes no sense. I buy 4 and 8 lb canisters of powder so being able to put a non transparent powder bottle on the press won't work out for me...and how are you supposed to see your powder level doing that anyhow? What am I supposed to do with the powder that I dropped to get the adjustment set? Can't remove the lid and drop it back in the hopper with the lid on the bottom! I thought it would be good for super small cartridges like .32 and .380 but at 2 to 3 grains charge weight of flake powder it isn't accurate. I did get the old style hopper. While it was an improvement it still isn't a good powder measure. I'll probably put it on my .38 spl rat shot turret. I can deal with the variations in powder on that loadmaster rig. I'm not a Lee Hater. I have 4 Lee presses, all 16 of my die sets are Lee, I use a Lee scale, bulge buster kits, bullet sizing dies, bullet lube, and case lube. I've used Lee equipment almost exclusively for 40 years. Autodrum...over-hyped and nearly as bad as the Pro 1000 priming system.

@@papasplace2 But he is using Trailboss which will not cycle an Ar15. There's a guy on Utube that has used 1680 with 150gr bullet. Run 1095fps

My problem, like many others, is the spillage of fine grain powder from the drum. I can’t fix it!

I remember reading someplace that Lee had a batch of bad drums that got out... it might pay for you to contact them and see about getting different drums. Take care
