I've been in Bogota, Colombia for 4 days. Here are my first impressions and a tour of the apartment I'm staying in. My Course on Adventure FilmMaking: www.udemy.com/... Follow Pat Daley on instagram here: / patdaleytravel
$1500.USD a month is dirt cheap for a cosmopolitan/global city. However, Pat is NOT PAYING $1500. a month. He is paying $50. per night and he multiplied $50 times 30 days ($50 X 30 Days =$1500). The monthly Airbnb rate for that location is MUCH LESS than $1500.

I’m desperately trying to move over there as soon as possible! I just got back a week ago and spent a week in El Chico at the NH pavilion next to Parque 93. The bang for your buck going over there with USD to COP ratio is insane! I have found three bedrooms/4 bathroom apartments in the same area as well as Chapinero for $800-$900 a month. One day we were there it broke 81° and everybody was dying from the heat! Saying that Colombians are fashionable is an understatement! Definitely motivates you to want to work out and dress up just a little bit more before you leave your house lol But everybody was so nice and not once that I ever feel in danger even going as far south as Calle 45! You can eat 3x a day at food carts for about $10 too! 10/10 would love to live there!
Strictly speaking, the paseo millonario is when you're kidnapped and taken from ATM to ATM until all of your money is withdrawn. You're describing more of a raponazo or a generic atraco. Colombians are all about the perfect word for specific criminality.
I am colombian and i can say that you got the gringo price, that appartment at most $900 with the current rate! is old, does not has a view, and it's not even that big...
Next time you’re in Bogota try the apartment on Calle 72. It’s $807/m in a high rise with a pool, gym, balcony, and free parking if you’re renting a car
Most companies rely on motorcycles to get their burocratic tasks done effectively. It's a country of laws, and you need a document for every single thing. So delivery couriers are always on high demand.
BOGOTA is super cosmopolitan and tons of fun! And yes, the people are very fashionable, tall and gorgeous (women and men)! MEDELLIN, CARTAGENA, BARRANQUILLA, CALI, BUCARAMANGA and SAN ANDRES are on my agenda. Thanks PAT!!!
I've lived here 3 years and never been robbed, but I'm not an obvious foreigner as short and tanned! I bought a six bed house with 1/4 acre for $300k, and 25min uber from here to Pat's would be about $3
Yeah, people from Bogotá D.C, (and Colombian in general ) are very fashionable and one of the best good looking latinos, in addition very open mind people ( same sex marriage are legal, abortion, euthanised, adoption from same sex too, LGBT people can be in the military etc) People from Colombia are very mix between them so you can find a lot people with different kind of mix ( a lot black people, arab background specially from Lebanon, Syrian, Palestine, turkey, Israel) , Spanish and Mediterranean ethnicity, Europeans specially from Germany, Italy, some Asians, ) Brazilisn people and culture is very similar to Colombian too.
This specific neighborhood is called El Retiro. It took a few days for me to feel safe here just because it was unfamiliar. Once you settle in, you get a more practical idea of the dangers which are more present in certain areas of the city than others. Only aspect of homelessness in my neighborhood is Venezuelan migrants asking for money.
@@francom179 US has way more homeless. and according to the International Peace Index it is way more dangerous than Colombia. www.visionofhumanity.org/maps/#/
Who comes up with such prices - they are far too high for what he got, unless like someone suggested you get an Airbnb long term and calculate price xx times 30 days per month.
$1500/month is downright stupid for Bogota or anywhere in Colombia, regardless of what kind of "upscale" it is... Sorry mate, you're getting ripped off.
He is paying $50.USD a day which is not bad or that apartment. However, if you plan on staying a month, you should negotiate for $800-1000. USD monthly.

Bogota is one of the global cities from Latin American., is a political, fashion, cultural, economic strong capital city, if Bogota will be a country will be the 8th Latinamerica economy, a lot rich people live there.
@@studatcedars average apartment rent in Pittsburgh is $1400...but that's just one of almost any city that you can get an apartment for less than $1500.
