My $270 Thai Apartment tour (+Swimming pool and Gym) in Chiang Mai, Thailand 2017 [Subtitle] 

(The place is called Trio Condominium.) I must warn you that you must be careful when you rent a flat in Chiang Mai. My landlord didn't want to give my deposit back on the day I leave. He said it was written on the contract that he will give my deposit back the day after I leave. But it was not true that it was not written like that. My landlord kept saying that just leave the key and I will give you money via paypal tomorrow after inspection. We had some argument that I said I would not leave the house until you come. Then he suddenly came to the room, shouted "Give me the key", acted as so rude guy ever, and changed door lock with tools violently. Then he charged me extra money for changing lock. It was crazy experience at the end. When he showed very violent act like kicking my bag, I asked help from the office. But none of them helped to call the police. All of them were at his side!!! While I stayed at the flat, he came to my room always without notification. One time I was talking about the payment on messenger with him. Then suddenly he came and knocked my door at 11:30 pm when I was on the bed after turning off the light! Crazy! Australian Landlord, 59 years living with Thai girl stayed on the same building and he came to my flat without notification always. No respect at all. When I rented other flat through the office at other condo, it was no problem at all. But this time it was big pain. So be careful to rent a flat in Chiang Mai through people. When I had the contract with the office directly, it was so easy. But when I rented from foreigner landlord, it was crazy bad experience. Watch out! Don't lose your deposit! It is quite common problem in Thailand that landlord knows once you leave, you cannot come back. So, they can act like whatever they want at the end. My land lord was doing Speaker Coach and doing some M.C in Chiang Mai. But not trustful person at all. You never know until you have the problem. So good luck if you look for a flat in Chiang Mai.

I like your video very much. Well edited. Good personality. Looks like everything was very good until you wrote the details about the Landlord below. I would not want to deal with someone like that. He's a total jerk. It should be against the law for a Landlord to bother you after 9pm. He was violent and yelling. That would make me not rent there. I got ripped off by an Auzzie who ran a phony language school named Mathew Kay. The American Consulate contacted the Thai police and we are going after him. Must be a problem with bad Australians in Chiang Mai. I want to only rent from Thai landlords. How do you finance your travel lifestyle? Are you a Digital Nomad? Thanks for an interesting and valuable video. Love your place, the views and everything but the Landlord situation. I don't need a pool. Maybe I can find a place without a pool for the same money.

270$ is kind of expensive . But if you factor in the swiming pool , the gym (which is not THAT equiped) ,the security , maybe the area of town the building is in and the view from the balcony , 270$ is ok . Not the best deal ever but it's ok , expensive but kind of worth it .

Been living in the same condo for over a week, not bad location, the room I rent had chic design and still miss scenery of Suthep. Bad thing is it's on the airway so very noisy when aircraft pass by

just got out of a month to month @ Suandok US$ 93 a month.... no swimming pool.... but 4 blocks from Siriphat.... don't ever forget why. ask ANYONE where the main branch library of the biggest city in "Lanna Thai" is located. should be a real easy one... even in 2017. not a rant... but it's why $270 is still a lot of money... 20 years on.. or even 50 from now.
