My brother in law lets me drive his truck with his trailer and his Bob cat. Im 17 yrs old and he says take advantage of the shit I let you do cus not alot of people are gona let you do these things and I appreciate that 💯
Love this channel. I’m a mechanic on big trucks but never get to drive them other than in the parking lot really enjoy seeing you teach the young man. I need someone to give me a real learning lesson
I was 18 yrs old driving semi in Hawaii. I hauled everything the trailer could carry. Loaded heavy. I was king of the road. Ha Ha loved every minute. Sure wish I followed my dreams. Keep on driving. Great video.
Smart kid. I learned to drive stick shift when I was a kid in harvest season. Dad shoved me in the tractor and said figure it out ? He did that with grain truck as well
MY STEPSON WHEN HE WAS 8 LEARNED HOW TO DO A FULLER 10 SPEED IN MY CABOVER WHITE 7000 s! HAD IT DOWN PAT IN 2 DAYS UPSHIFTING AND DOWN!! HE LEARNED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND HE WAS SITTING ON THE DOGHOUSE! 10 YEARS LATER HE WAS HIRED AS A LABORER FOR A LOCAL CONTRACTOR, THEN HIS BOSS DECIDED TO TRY MAKING A DRIVER OUT OF HIM, AND WAS EXPECTING TO HAVE TO SPEND 2 OR 3 DAYS TEACHING SHIFTING! THE FIRST TIME OUT ON THE ROAD, TONY SLIPSHIFTED ALL 10 GEARS BEFORE HIS BOSS SAID A THING! WHEN HIS BOSS TOLD ME IT WAS MY BEST DAY OF TRUCKING!
I let my 17 year old nephew drive 2005 Kenworth W900L. Massive heavy haul truck, 18 speed Eaton transmission, lot of power from an acert twin turbo caterpillar. 625hp tuned up motor. Truck has the lift axle and long hood. Big heavy hauler rims and tires. Pulls a long ass Fontaine. I let him drive it first around the yard and the back roads that no one really drives on to teach him how, then I let him take it on the roads! I told him to get up on the highway after 2 weeks of practice, and the man did good! I’m proud of him, and your brother. He did awesome! My nephew wants to do what i do and maybe join along. I work at a towing recovery company and I drive and operate a 75 rotator tow truck. I’m also a diesel auto mechanic. He wants to do the same because of me and I’m real happy for him, and he’s got family member that’ll teach him all. He planning on going to a music and school for the mechanics and truck operation after highschool. He’s a talented guitar player since he was young! That’s why he wants to go to a music school also he tells me. He’s an awesome guy! Very nice to see you teaching your brother my friend! 🤘🏼
I never played w / a 10. Dad stuck me with a 13 Eaton. Semi local, I hated it. I kept asking for another truck he says u learn the 13 you can run all of them . I ran that 13 a yr n a 1/2 . It turned out ok but I was running farther with it. It wasn't so bad but it made for long days.
I wouldn’t be teaching him to come to a stop rolling neutral but I mean this is some quality bonding here! Not everyday you see siblings close like this
Hello brother, it’s so admirable of you to teach brother! I drove truck for the longest and had a much younger friend of mine that was always always interested in driving so I taught him same as your brother when he started with me... the boy stayed in trouble with the law and drugs and so I did this to try and get his idled mind interested in something other than drugs and man I’m so glad I did I gave him a CDL book and he studied and studied, today he is 25 has a Class A and is pulling a Loboy with a Damn Good looking Pete! I couldn’t be more proud!! By the way bro you’ve got some serious skills yourself!! Be safe brother!! 🤘🏻
I’m a 18 year old belly dump driver , driving a 13 speed transmission, also had a lot of companies turn me down cause of my age , thought I couldn’t drive cause of my age , but with the company I’m at right now , I’m one of the few that knows how to float gears haha it’s a damn shame how people think age makes you the better worker .
Good job kid. I just got my CDL a couple months ago. I see you kept looking at your RPMS. That's how i learned on an 8 speed. Keep practicing. Repetition is key.
Much love homie, I lost my brother to prison right when I got into trucking. I know for a fact I woulda taught him like this. I see little bro paying attention to big bro. Much love and respect. Stay safe
Nice Rig i started in my 1977 Ford F600 Dump Truck towing a 24ft equipment trailer with a 1996 Ford 555D Backhoe and my 1977 international load star flatbed i use both to go get fire wood spring summer and fall
He did good, I can just tell by the sound that it's a Mack (albeit a new Volvo made one). They are so easy to learn on and I don't care what anyone says, I'm 21 and learned on an R model with the 12 speed Maxitorque. I can relate as it's really just a 10 and was so forgiving when I learned.
I drove a truck with a 13-speed Eaton, but as I had little space, I only managed to move the gears from 2nd to 6th, I found the gear a sweet, I would like to see it on the road to go up and down the gears.
That's cool big brother teaching little brother I'm the the only boy of 9 sisters and the oldest had to teach myself to do a lot of things my dad was never around now I have to boy teaching them everything I know
This is great school... Even tho my dad is a truck driver he never gave it to me. Now I'm 17, doing driving licence for B (Personal cars) and C1 (that means lorry's 'till 7,5 tons without trailer) and some thins are pretty hard to learn when you have to learn how to shift 8 speed transmission and you've never been driving a truck before :-D :-D
WTF xd i am 22 (1.April.1997) now and started driving in the driving school with 20 and it was a manual transmission and since then only manual.. And I laughed when I saw the gear. I wouldn't have been able to find the gears in my life. He has my full respect I think such things are pretty good (The father son things) In Germany you need to be older then 18 to Drive a Car so wow.. Driving a truck at the age of 17 has been my dream since I can think back. Hopefully I can soon too :)
I love this truck. Trucks like these in the Transit Oriented Development business. Trucks to haul away the crack houses after they have been demolished.
I’m 16 now. Been driving on the road/highways with my dad for the past 2yrs. Other than ur brother looks like he needs to learn the brakes a little better,he did a awesome job. I encourage anyone to start from age 10 and up. Start to learn the ropes early. Keep doing what ur doing.
@@Grtruckingdemolitionllc hell yea brother, we aren't that far away from each other. My dad has some property in Montemorelos too so Linares is like in it's back yard lol
You're a class act my son, you have a long career ahead of you, when you're my age you'll be driving electric solar powered trucks, hmmm, no romance anymore.
Oh dear lord I remember trying to shift a tractor and grinding the gears all the way through the field because my dumb but didn’t lock it into place lol
The only thing that he struggle with is the shifter free play to take before going out of gear thats why he stay stuck in those gears .. its like he is scare to go on neutral but you cannot do it when you have a load on the gears
Jimmy Pineault He needs to first hit the sweet spot, that is the rev range, 1.5k, the liver should be able to pop into a gear without effort. That’s why the brother is constantly reminding him to tap the throttle.
TTVCharbel123 i love shifting the 18 speed transmission. Pretty cool he’s teaching you on a 18 first. Then the 13/10 speed will be a piece of cake for you.
Your doing pretty good for shifting a 10 speed transmission just learn a few more tips from your brother and you will be driving just as good as he does.
