A video of my 17 year old brother first time driving the kenworth with a trailer. thanks for watching & SUBSCRIBE !! FACEBOOK page: / grtruckingdemolition Instagram: grtruckingdemolition #10speed #floatinggears #kenworth
I went through the same thing bro if I messed up he wouldn’t always tell me what I was doing wrong he’d force me to find out what to do on my own and thankfully to him I got it down, Mexican dads are the best teachers though 😅
If that was his first time driving that truck then you should be damn proud of what he did and stop riding him so hard! It's easy for you because you know what your doing but nobody is going to learn that in one day. it takes time to learn how to shift, especially on floating! Just give him time and let him practice more because I think he did Great!
I did not have a dad growing up and im 16 somehow i know how to drive this and many more machines... dont wait for other people to help you because you can only count on yourself 100% of the time. Not trynna put you guys down but just get on your sh**
@@alexmaciel907 I am 18 well I suck...in my country all regualtions and shit...We can't drive cars unless we are 18+ and we can only drive 6 hours until we are 22 years old and that's not all but we also can only drive cars under 90hp.So here 18 years older could not drive Vettes,Mustangs,Rams...just boring small cars. In Serbia gas price is 12 times higher than in US,tax for one car woth insurance is 1000 dollars even knowing that grown man average salary is 300 in this comunist country.Life sucks down here. And then comes my parents and grandparents...their pressure is big because: 1.They would be jelaous if I got car 2.They have money but still won't buy me a god damn car 3.They won't allow me to drive my own car 4.They won't allow me to have anything woth more than 1.6 liters and it must be a boring diesel 5.The city is full of jelaous people whp would scratch your car because they are jelaous. 6.My parents do not allow me to learn how to drive on our family car but expect me to know how to drive and and pass driver's license tests. I have one message for my goverment, family, community and my city and it says: FUCK YOU!!!!
This was an amazing comment😭 I’m also young and have made sure I wasn’t like the rest of the people I went to school with. I started workin manual labor when I was only 11, by the time I graduated when I was 17 the people I was goin to school with were still out being stupid, vaping, worried about social media, and left with 0 life skills but asking their parents for money cause they didn’t know how to make their own and buy their own things
He did good. Get em yo stop saying 'it's hard'... it ain't. Practice makes perfect. Nobody started experienced! Tell em pick a girl and dance with er. Shifting like dancing. Find the groove. When she wants to be spin and so on👍🏾
I appreciate you letting your bro get behind the wheel. If it wasn’t for my big brother teaching me, I would have struggled learning to drive. Appreciate you 🤘🏼
You’re a great teacher, I’m currently training for my cdl and you remind me of one of our older instructors. In my earlier stages of learning he taught just like you do in this video. He’s the reason my shifting is so smooth today!
Bro, you just reminded me of my father, he used to haul onions, cantaloupe here in fresno, calif. teach my brother and I. He made us nervous when he'd make a command. But, it was for our own good. Today I'm glad. His experience has passed on the torch. By the way, your a great instructor. And really enjoy watching the vids. Bad ass, best of the best!
ill give him props for that he seemed to get the hang of it. i remember when my dad let me drive a semi its was a pain trying to figure out the gears and shift patterns and that jake brake sounded amazing
Honestly the portion when you down shifted through every gear was verrrrrry impressive (at least to me). I am a novice at best and all we have are 8LL transmissions in my families two tri-axles and I wish I had someone like you to teach me. I do the same thing your little brother does by rushing my shifts most of the time, and revving to high on the down shifts. I think a lot of it is just being nervous. Just remember don't get to frustrated w/ your brother. That can be the biggest deterrent to wanting to keep practicing.
Man this brings back memories of when I started learning how to drive with my dad sitting in the sleeper screaming at me while I tried to get it in gear. Your brother did great job in my opinion for a first timer
Sooo cool. I was a adult when my dad called and said meet him at the KW dealer I needed to test drive a truck for him. 13 speed big cat. We went on about a 5 mile test drive.. He said I was Smooooth. We got back my step mom said I floated out of the cab. Keep up the good work kid. I pull ISO tankers now. Gotta be smooth and steady with those.
He’s doing good I was like that at 14 got better through out the years expect I couldn’t have one hand on the wheel when cruising always got slapped if I dropped a arm. Once he gets good with the gears little homie will have the pattern all worked out. Loves the vids man respect from down under bud
I let my nephew drive the rotator around the yard and on some back roads. We turned around a curb and almost lost it! Had to turn it left a bit. He did great. Had him drive it a lot in the yard. He is 15. Had him drive it around the yard slow to get used to it and shift smoothly. I then drove up to some back roads and had him drive it. Kid did great. Turning the truck for him was a pain, and taking off too. Once he got it going he was good. Great to see you are teacher your brother. My brother wouldn’t do any of this he isn’t interested lol. I’m lucky my nephew is interested and likes driving the truck he has fun
I was 13 when I first starting driving Manual Semis. I started with an 81' Western Star before I got to use a some of the newer Trucks. I've driven Module trucks, Dump trucks, and even combination with flatbeds, cotton seed trailers, belly dumps etc. Im 15 now and I can back up a 50ft trailer with my eyes closed. It's great to learn young because your mind is like a sponge.👌🏽
And with that knowledge start working as one of those anywhere that has a high pay rate most likely each one of those machines is paid differently maybe due to the difficulty level it has to work it. And then one day create your own business.
hes definitely getting better. Good to see your willing to teach and let your little bro use your truck to learn. take all of his advice man, your big bro can drive good!
Man if that’s really his first time then big props. My first time driving a commercial truck with a stick I was grinding left and right no matter what it seemed I did. Great job
I am 36. Got my class A at 34. The school I went to required we learned standard... I had never driven a stick shift in my life. Over the course of 6 weekends I was a cdl holder. Now two years later, I’m still driving and I absolutely love it. Wish I would’ve figured this out sooner. Respect to this young man. 🚛life
@Grtruckingdemolition you did an awesome job at teachin your little brother how to grab gears, brake just right, check them mirrors when he turns etc. great job brotha!! much respect!
My first truck i drove in was a twin stick at 14 years old i moved up to a triple stick and taught my self 8 speed 13 and 18 speed you brother did great 👍 practice makes perfect
He’ll be a trucker before ya know it! Took me forever to get floating down to a t. Guy that trained me drilled it in my head that slow and smooth wins the race and man was he right. Your lil bro is doing great!
I’m a guy lol He’s lucky to have big brother like you to show him the right way .. I learned by watching my pops from the passenger seat . And when I got in the drivers seat to do it he screamed at me until I got it done the right way .
Started out on a Volvo 13 speed when i was 21 had a badass trainer myself I was shifting smooth as hell in about 3 weeks....awesome training bro he'll appreciate it later on down the road
reminds me of my family 4th generation of truck driving and my dad and his dad were there to help me start driving! This is how it all starts guys you gotta put in that windshield time
@@roderickmathison5245 Not in semis in europe I found that your semis are more auto than manual but your cars are manual here most semis are manual and cars are auto
He gets it going great. Known to put it in high also. Fantastic. My nephew grinds gears 4th 5th 6th. When he takes off I told Him slow. RPMs were low so he got the first 3 gears good. When they got higher in 4th 5th he grinds. Gotta match engine RPM with transmission he catches on. Your bro will get it. I was impressed on how he got the truck rolling so smoothly. First time I took my nephew in the yard he have it a lot of gas and shifted it. Lol. Told him to stop the truck, and then let it take off slow the rest.
Little bro is doing very well indeed! Just needs more practice and that comes with time at the wheel. He'll be as good and you not too far down the road. Kids are smart. More important, he WANTS to learn. He wants every shift to be smoooth and quick just like his big brother. And, for sure, he's on his way. PS Has a good teach, and a good example. I've known more than one guy twice his age who passed a CDL test and couldn't shift that well. True story. I don't know where you are at (I'm a pretty new subscriber) but in Nebraska we had to double clutch for the test; it was a requirement. So that might be worth showing him, also. You're both good and you both can be proud!
Good job its easy when you get the hang of it I started to learn with a old tline with a 10speed when i was around 10-11 and i broke the gearbox but now i have learned 17 now and drive a 13 speed like a auto
You teaching him gives me flashbacks of last year when I took my schools driving instructor, teaching me and then puting me on a test. It was to lower insurance costs on your car xD
Damn he pretty good with that shifter 👍🏾 needs more practice downshifting, but for sure hell be a boss with it. Especially at a young ass age. My dad was the same with me when I first started, just like you. Very serious, loud and strict. But I’m about to have 1yr driving now. And I love it 🙏🏾
I gave you a thumbs up but bro u was hard on him. He did an awesome job getting my class A was the hardest thing I've ever done. Yet I had an instructor that was patient and his tone was easy. Just a word of advice
Was good to watch this im in newzealand learing to drive an 18speed im 28 and he could probably out drive me haha good stuff keep at it we will get it down sooner or later bro!!
He did really well a lot better than me and im his age lol huge respect for you taking the time to teach your little brother how to do that i think it’s awesome.
He will be good! I got to start shifting when I was 15. Sat in the passenger seat for years before that. Glad that’s how I learned. I was 16 driving down 75 in the middle of the night from Detroit to Dayton while the guy I rode with slept in the bunk. My goal was to get to the yard without waking him. I pulled it off once or twice
Yes he did good. Perfect practice makes perfect. I’m a new trucker and I’m shifting pretty good now. Love your vids. I’ve learned so great shifting advice here. I downshift the same way you’re teaching him. I’m working one shifting with engine brakes on.
xNativeDogx to downshift with jakes I just lay my foot on the clutch enough to cut the jake off and drop my gear then move my foot and the jake kicks back on. May not be the right way for a lot of people but works for me.
