It’s rusty but I found this less than a mile from where I grew up. It was in a barn for 40 years, last ran in the 1970’s and probably not too well then. It has civilian colors and then was purchased by the Army for Korea era. This is the recap of the last month and a half. It’s still located 2 hours away in a tobacco barn. Plans are to bring it home shortly. Got new tires, should have them on by this weekend. When I started the engine was stuck, spark plugs rust/welded to the head. Several of the valves were stuck. Soaked them for a week or so then gently turn it over by the flywheel then the fan blades then put the starter back on. Kept popping the valves back down with a plastic hammer. They finally worked loose. Got the head cleaned up and carb rebuilt. Wiring in bad shape and coil missing so decided to run it off 12 volts. Coil from a junk box, cap rotor and condenser from O’Reilly (filed and gapped the old points). Hooked up a bottle for gas and go! Started and ran several times after this and engaged the transmission. It should move under it’s own power!
