WCW Galoob is my #1 wrestling figure line of all-time. Glad these were revisited, and looking forward to part two.

People complain that they had no articulation and or movement but it made My imagination work that much more !! I had My collection of the Steiner Brothers and Sting and also Ric Flair and Sid Vicious in 1991, I was 9 and had the time of My life💯😍😍💯💯💯👍🏾

Due to my age, and when US wrestling really became popular here in the uk, I was always a hasbro/galoob guy, so I never even knew about the LJN's until many years later. I have to confess I never owned the Ric Flair Galoob, but my childhood best friend had him (we tried to get different figures from each other, so we'd have a bigger roster when we got together). But yeah, brilliant figure. And I agree was the best Galoob and could've been the best wrestling figure I'd ever played with.

Flair was also my favorite all time figure. In my federation (post LJN era) he beat all the Hasbro’s, was my world champ, and the tag champs with Arn Anderson.

As a kid I had some of the Galoob WCW figures. I had Sting, Lex Luger, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Sid Vicious, Barry Windham, Scott Steiner, Rick Steiner, Ron Simmons, and Butch Reed.

Loved these, and played with them right along with the Hasbros like every other kid did!! I gotta echo that sentiment about poor Ron Simmons' horrible figure pose.......I honestly think every kid that ever had him recognized the lost opportunity there. What were they thinking?? How could they have made outstanding poses for the rest of the figures (even Luger IMO, he was the distributor of many off the the top of the steel cage double DDTs in my figure fed), and drop the ball so badly on Ron Simmons?? That was just insanity or laziness. I had similar issues with the Galoob ring. The nice addition of the red steel cage was awesome, but compared to the epic ring Hasbro put out, it really was just kinda cold and unfeeling. Way too hard, and sadly one of the gimmicky ring posts snapped off after one fateful afternoon of playing a bit too hard with my friend, which basically sealed its fate since no amount of superglue was gonna make that playable again. That was a sad day. While it was definitely flawed, I loved putting it side by side with my Hasbro ring and doing the kind of "War Games" style matches. Good times!!

With the Rick Steiner figure, i always loved how on his left shoulder his strap is twisted

The Galoobs were unmatched as far as likeness. They also represented WCW perfectly. While the WWF Hasbros were bright and colourful like the company at the time the Galoobs were more realistic.

Nice overview. These are figures that I am not too familiar with, completely missed my radar as a kid. I always love hearing your childhood memories, you have a way of sending me back to those times as well.

This was my favorite figure line. I preferred figures that did not move. Barry Windham and Sid Vicious were the best poses. With Windham's, you could punch, clothesline and suplex. I got all of these for Christmas and played with them for years. I even had Doom. Good times. I had both rings but preferred with WWF ring because it had better turnbuckles.

That Barry Windham was in my collection of bone crunching action figures and I had no idea who he was. I dont know where/how I got him... but he was my champion for my childhood. I do not know why. I went 20+ years never knowing who it actually was and just called him CRUSH as a kid. Always awesome to see it pop up now.

In all honesty the Hasbro figures were more than sturdy enough and they never felt hollow. Compared to most other action figure lines they were pretty heavy and solid.

I once had a ring for my figures. I tried doing the Mick Foley spot where he went over the top rope and got his head between the top and middle rope. The ring ropes snapped like rubber bands. Never again wasted my money buying a ring

Theirs a bootleg toyline based off of Mexican Luchadors called, The Magnificent Wrestler. Each figure came with a really great looking belt, I'm lucky to own one in package, they can go for a very high price..

Love it! Blue trunks Flair is indeed figure perfection. And that’s the end of that story. And there is one belt that is different, the nine notch that goes on Dustin in series 2. And I agree, to kids that grew up with ljn, hasbro never quite cut the mustard. Especially when warrior mania was running wild, that series 1 hasbro warrior was pathetic with his feet together so he could head butt or whatever... it’s like, huh?
@TheNew80sRevolution

I think they missed the boat with ending this line of figures I think if they could have pulled threw to 94 when Hogan came in they could've killed it.

WCW should have stuck with 3 lines the WCW ljn style figures the galoob and the 4-inch style figures which they only made 12 I got the full set on one of my videos If they would have made more galoob figures Hasbro would have had a problem

Jason, im curious, how would you of felt if ljn came out with them articulated ljn 8 inch figures that all the prototypes have surfaced for? i wasnt really into the hasbro line for the same reasons, i loved them, but that first love was the smell, feel, and sound of the ljn's clashing.

I’m sure I would have loved them if it’s all I knew. But looking back, the big rubber figures were the absolute best option
