@orionsires if it's a highly collectible card people want, it will sell regardless just might take longer. I used to have a base set charizard cgc 8.5 that sat for months for this reason

It did, but damn every time I buy other kids cards they always get better grades than mine. I legit can’t pull a centered card to save my life 😎🙏🏼

P.S. I love cgc more than PSA but a majority of people arent like that 😢.

The 9s aren’t super different and some 10s aren’t WAY off, you also pay less a year for cgc and less per submission plus about 1-2 month faster turnaround so you can either flip them quicker or keep them in your collection. PSA for less popular cards, in 10s, and speed of sale will win out. But you get a 1-2 month advantage to list/sell with cgc turnaround speed. PSA is still king, but if you’re not one of these big time flippers and just a couple bulk submissions a year, I think cgc is nice (plus like their slabs much more)

@@orionsires I even did some quick research on the base set slabs and I honestly think you will get close to PSA value . Every card has a “range” of sales depending on who’s looking to shop. It’s never a guarantee. I personally think you did the right thing. I recently sold a pristine 10 team rocket dragonair for 120$

I’m sorry too that I graded with cards that won’t appreciate well 😂 it’s not the company necessarily it’s also me picking a bunch of random basic cards I acquired early on as a novice but I feel ya

CGC is and has been dead to me. You are not the only one to experience the unbelievable inconsistency in their grading.

Dude I wanted this video done in 20 minutes and uploaded in 10 it took a damn hour almost and then it took allll night to upload 😂 but I’m glad I got it up so I can move forward with convention content !! The market is still warming up to the change. PSA has many many years behind it. In a vendor perspective it's too risky to trade at speculative value. CGC has already defined it's pros vs other grading companies and is legit in the big 3. market data over time just needs to solidify it's place@@orionsires

Tell me about it ! In the entire submission with several different people there were maybe 5 pristine slabs out of 100? They aren’t giving them away that’s for sure. Even 10’s we’re tough IMO. The metal slabs got wrecked but it’s ok I personally opened those up and knew it was going to be hard with quality control on them. They will display great regardless but I’m hoping to get some good sales or trades out of them. 😎🙏🏼

Vintage CGC currently 70-80% PSA is being generous, any Vintage right now is crazy how low it's selling for....That being said his cards are more highly sought after than my recent sales.

This is very true and I do get it. It’s really All about money and market value at the end of the day. Raw cards can sell for whatever but graded cards call a premium or not depending on the grade. Definitely super subjective and I’ve never been crazy about it myself but it’s cool when you get good grades back. My evolving skies Umbreon came back a 10 and that’s what really got me excited about grading. Thanks for watching regardless! 😎🙏🏼

Right ?!? Absolutely ridiculous IMO. So they are allowing 9.5’s in the old slab to be regarded as 10…… but still giving out half grades. These types of changes are what infuriate me but the slab quality , weight and feel is superb and the grades seem harsh which is in line with PSA for the most part. I think CGC is trying to figure their game plan out but for now I’m happy with the labels, style and look of these slabs! I’m excited to see how they sell/trade at collect a con today!😎🙏🏼

Yeah kind of a bummer for how much I spent but it’s okay I know I should have been more on point here on out I will only get my nicest cards graded! Unless I pull myself in which case the grade is somewhat irrelevant to me😂

Great points and I definitely can see that being the case. With really big names grading would probably be favored but at the same time those big names are submitting cards that would probably get good grades anyways. Tough to speculate. Great comment 😎🙏🏼

@@orionsires For sure - when it comes to your PC grade with whoever you like - it really doesn't matter. I just have a hard time when anyone grades with CGC that plans on reselling the item. You pay a little bit less at CGC but sell the card for a LOT less.
