Honestly I watch these like a fat baby looks at cake 😂 Spiritouse double vanille is my favourite from guerlaine, I have two of the even older style bottle and almost finished with another that is in in the same bottle as you have 🙏
@@Amilovesperfume I like my fragrances a bit dirty so, Shalimar EDP is my favorite. I also love Samsara because it's sexy. My favorite spring/summer is Jardins de Bagatelle. I haven't tried anything from their exclusive line so maybe I'll have new favorites in the future.
Loved learning about some that I was unaware of. Guerlain and Chanel were my doorway to what beautiful fragrance was in about 1980 and they have always held a special place in my heart and will continue to. My favourite is L'Heure Bleue💙💛 Thanks again for sharing these💜😍
Guerlain is my favorite house, also. I am so happy for you that you have so many!! I think Guerlain makes the best powdery soft and fluffy smelling fragrances 💖
Beautiful! Guerlain is my fav too! Double Vanille is on my wish list. What an absolutely stunning top 20! I have to try Oriental Brulant - sounds delicious smelling.
And you Ami) when you start- this is my favourite perfume, i know that later you will show us one more favourite, then another one the most favourite, after- the most of the most and then the most the most the most the most))) you are fabulous😁💝
I am also a Guerlain perfume lover. I enjoyed this video. My all time fav is vintage Mitsouko. I also love L'Heure Bleue but what I smell most is the powdery heliotrope, carnation and clove. I regret buying a bottle of Bois D'Armenie; I feel in love with it and never bought it!
Your perfume videos are all so wonderful and calming, no matter whether I like those type of perfumes or not. Like a good series, when it's longer is better and when I watched one of it, I'm waiting for the next one. :)
I've got to get a grip of myself. Ive developed a serious habit.... looking back to my 13 yr old self I can see that 'Charlie' coffret was the gateway! Now its Chanel Exclusivs, Cartier,Hermes, Ropion, Amouage, Dove..... ...... send help!- Alice
Thanks for making a video on one of the greatest perfume houses ever. Re: Vol de Nuit here's what I've found out about the original notes that must have been the same as those in your 1940s bottle. Some viewers might be interested. The classic chypre base of the time was made up of bergamot (citrus) topnotes, middle notes centered on cistus labdanum, (amber) and a flower scent, and a mossy-animalic set of basenotes derived from oakmoss (earthy, green, bark, leather). Guerlain to his top notes added galbanum to the citrus of the bergamot to give a woody, balsamic, spicy green scent. He also added some other synthetic green notes to add a musk scent. That citrusy, woody, spicy, musky, earthy, leather opening must have seemed a strange contradiction. He then concocted a wonderful floral blend for the middle notes made up of daffodils, violets, carnations, roses and jasmine. I've read that this was considered one of the great floral blends - a real mastery of Guerlain's skill as a blender. Then the base was made up of strong vanilla and amber. This strong vanilla base mixed with amber was also a surprise for customers. To the noses of ladies in 1933 it must definitely have seemed like a strange, mysterious scent with many contradictions. New and maybe a bit daring to wear. Does your vintage Vole de Nuit smell anything like the above? I hope so.
Oriental Brulant, Tonka Imperial (i adore Thierry Wasser), Mon Gueflain and Samsara!! I have been wearing Samsara since...forever! I did not know though that they reformulated it! Are they serious??? I saw a different bottle, but i thought it was just that 😪 They always discontinue what WE like....
Anyone with over 150 Guerlains has my respect admiration and attention. Liked and your newest subscriber is a 55 yo parfumista from PA. Smell swell & be well... and keep them groovy vids coming, yea?
Oh my...this is such a gorgeous collection of Guerlain! 😍 I really hope I can smell an older version of Vol de Nuit one day. I only had an EDT of 2014. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to the reputation built up by its previous formulations to me. 😢
It is so weird how a fragrance we initially don't like can become our all time favorite! The first time I smelled L'heure Blueu, I did not like it and didn't buy it. Today, it is my signature scent, forever favorite. I've been wearing it since 1994!!
Wonderful! Do you think it’s safe to order from Amazon? Why is it half the price as from Saks? Thank you! Just ordered L Heur Bleu and adore it! It was manufactured 2 1/2 years ago do you think it’s still good? Thx
I agree on the aqua Allegoria being made almost like fast fragrance, I remember they used to do one that smells like white roses in a green house which reminded me of the days when I used to go to my moms floral arrangement classes when I was young. The only one that’s more acceptable to me from the Aqua range is the ginger piccante
Sssssooooo jealous but at the same time overwhelmed with beautiful and delicious goodness🤗 lllllove your collections and videos, thank you for sharing your collection with us. I look forward to each and every one of your video 😍
FINALLY u mentioned L'Heure Blu and Vol de Nuit! I was beginning to think u have Questionable taste for a Guerlain patron ;DDD xoxoxo My Favorites: *Jicky & Meteorites*
Wouah that was so interesting ! I discovered so many perfumes I didn't know ! 🤩 My favourite one from Guerlain is Joyeuse Tubéreuse. I love this perfume so much that I've just bought a back up this week ! 😍 (I never do that usually) I also have Spiritueuse double vanille and I really enjoy this boozy vanilla. (I'm quite picky with vanilla fragrance) But I really have my eyes on Angélique noire. I just have a sample for the moment but I really like it ! Sooner or later this is one is gonna be mine 😊
I remembered 8 years ago i bought few perfumes from one woman, Shiseido, old Dior Dolce vita etc. She told- You know, i have to sell these bottles, i just want to buy one perfume that stole my heart. I think about it all the time... It is a vintage Vol de nuit :)
Great video. So many perfumes I'd never heard of before. I have a few Guerlain perfums, my favourites are: L'Heure Bleue, Jicky and Shalimar Cologne, sadly discontinued.
O Ami I just bought Angelique Noir and it was so expensive and I felt really bad afterward because I only make a little bit of money babysitting. I really love the vanilla in there. I also really like Spirituise Double Vanilla but I cannot afford it. I actually got a sample of Mon and I love it and it’s a little more affordable. But it doesn’t last on my skin. But I feel the vanilla is really good.
Hey Thomas! Thank you 🙏 You have chosen 2 outstanding ones to add to your list! Please try and smell vintage Samsara, that's where the gorgeous sandalwood is at 👍
Hello Ami! You have exquisite taste in perfume and the largest, most beautiful fragrance collection I’ve ever seen. I was just wondering, what is your favourite white floral perfume in your collection? What would you recommend? Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Great selection. Speaking of green fragrances, my favourite green perfume is Guerlain Vetiver Pour Elle (sadly discontinued). Have you tried it? It's unique and truly amazing.
Dang I thought I commented already but not I would run the Boston marathon twice for this collection or at least the Metallica bottle it is a lovely fragrance and guet apens ,Vol de Nuit . That L’instant ME is some dark juice I’ve not tried it yet actually none of the L’instant but I will. I also have the RNDD and SDV I need the OB love them too! Thank-You for sharing with us. I was sorry to hear you weren’t going to purchase much this year fr your other vid but we shall see😁 My grandmother (gone to soon)worked in fragrances and Loved it so I was exposed to wonderful scents since childhood I was left some beauties but of course my aunt holds the GEMS!
I am a fellow Guerlain addict: Shalimar, L' Heure Bleue, Apres l'Ondee, Chamade and beautiful, beautiful Nahema vintage (and a lot more). It is a shame so many masterpieces have discontinued and replaced by non memorables fragrances.
@@Amilovesperfume well my cousin had a couple bottles of samsara and I managed to grab one off of her. I also got double vanille, Mon precieux nectar, vega and a very special ode 🤩🤩
@@madarasboo2833 All gorgeous ones you have wonderful taste 😍 The L’instant L’elixir is so hard to find but I hope you do get the chance to stumble upon it!
wow, so many fragrances just from Guerlain, wow Amy :) BTW I would love to see your new collection of all your perfumes, the older one had almost 1K fragrances I could remember, I wonder how many you have got since then ?:)
Amazing collection and so informative as usual. Thank you. Guerlain is a favorite of mine as well, however I am quite a newbie to the finer world of fragrance.
Guerlain is the most wonderful la Maison du fragrances I've always had and continue to have a love affair with. Best bottle collection of guerlain I've seen . Cheers
Where do you find all of these scents?? Online? Boutiques? I’ve been slowly building my collection but I have no idea where to get some of these gem fragrances 😔
Thank you! I don't actually have a favourite Guerlain for men, I prefer to smell Guerlain fragrances them on women for some reason. The only one I would say I like on men is vintage LIDGE.
Guerlain perfumes is how niche perfume should smell ! I think houses like this one , chanel, and dior .. came up with what i call the original scents. And of course not the new perfumes they come up with now. The old school stuff..if you know what i mean. To be honest mostly there is nothing special in niche fragrance.. anything you smell you mostly smelled it before.
Magnificent. Jardins de bagatelle is i believe paris hiltons signature. My hg is vol de nuit. I adore metalys and attrape coeur. Mitsouko of course ( worn by the likes of anais nin and charlie chaplin). Sous le vent yet another fave as is l'heure bleue (signature of isabelle huppert). Guerlain is the mother of european fragrance houses. As for the l'art et matiere my faves are mythique encense cuir beluga tonka imperiale and myrrh et delire. I envy your metallica flacon. Omg. It is the bestest carnation, agreed 💜🌹🤠
Just subscribed a while ago. Thanks for the video. What a great great great Guerlain collection!!!!. Jealous of you. I want to buy Vol De Nuit, Sous le Vent, Vega, L'Instant Magic Elixir, Winter Delice and Guet Apens.
Back in Mid 1990, I was young and worked as a counter manager for Guerlain counter. I was more in charge of selling their skin care and Makeup brand not so much fragrances. During the Holiday, had huge goals to sell the fragrance, Shalimar, Samsara, and Champs Elysees. Honestly I hated all those fragrances, I would get so many different fragrance bottles from my Account Executive testers or as gratis, I didn't like any of them, constantly gave them away or traded other brands for them. I wish I had a better understanding of great scents back then, now I love many Guerlain fragrances. The funny thing was many of Guerlain fragrances in the 90's customers referred to as Old lady fragrance and especially Rose was not that much appreciated, now it has made a huge come back. Rose is one scent I have always liked. Thinking back I would have had so many vintage perfumes to my collection.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing your story! I was a teenager in the 90's and remember the aquatics making a huge entry to the fragrance world so I do understand how some of the Guerlain would have been thought of as old lady! With things like Issey Miyake and CK One, they would have definitely been seen as old school and not in.
I loved Samsara when it came out. I used to work in a coffee shop near Selfridges in Oxford Street, London. I was broke, so almost every day I'd stop at the Guerlain counter and spray it on before going to work. A few years ago my son gave me a bottle for my birthday and I was underwhelmed. It's lovely but a paler, 'colder' and tamer version of the original formula. I'd love to get a vintage bottle.
@@Amilovesperfume brilliant! I am getting into this as well, so excited to explore some of these in the future. They just don't make them like they used to. I don't want to smell boring, I love the richness and complexity of vintage perfumes and the lasting power! Thank you for sharing your thoughts 😊❤
Help....:) You seam so knowledgable about Guerlain fragrances. I love Terracotta make-up line, all the powders/bronzer have their specific scent, mix of ylang- ylang from what I read. I was wondering if Guerlain made a perfume that has the exact scent? I tried Terracotta perfume and it's nothing like the powders..:(
I even can't find L'instant magic in regular bottle (not with bees) and boom! L'instant magic Elixir !!!😍 and samsara ,and guet apens, double vanille, Vega ...if I smell this collection I go crazy
