Today I get to tell you about my First Class!!!!! With our new amount of subscribers I figure I'd better give a brief talk about me and a big talk about my truck. A Kenworth w900.
Indeed the best truck in the WORLD is the Kenworth W900L... THEN, the Peterbilt 379/389. Can’t beat those trucks! a big powerful CAT in those trucks equals perfection.
You might think you are boring, but I enjoy your videos. Keep it up. Just enjoy life. This world is a crap show right now. There is no greater time to have a good family like you have, love those dogs too.
Sweet truck my friend. I have a saying I liked people.... Then people happened. I am a KW fan can not drive any more but I miss it. Boring nah i am 48 and go nowhere but work then home. I got no friends because like.you it is.easier to talk on this thing than to real people. Be safe and keep.rolling
not boring, not long winded, thanks, excellent insight on a trucker's life,I really enjoyed seeing the inside, you're much neater than I am.Please keep the videos coming!
Had to come back here to this video, this video right here is one of the videos that inspired me to join my best friend and become a truck driver. Came in doing flatbed as a lease driver and I don't regret it.
Just stumbled across your Chanel here in the Uk. By far the most censer and honest and genuine person in RU-vid trucking videos 👍 great and I’m now a subscriber. Keep these videos just like this. Old school honest gentleman 👍🤠
I am sitting here, lost my jaw-----I just love the story of your truck, I will give it 10.000 thumbs up. Dont ever stop talking about that truck. Today a lot of drivers don't give a biiiibb about there trucks. The just drive them. Som sitting here many thousand mils from USA. ( Denmark (Scandinavia) and listing too you telling os about you trucks, just makes me happy. I have the same fealing about my truck as a company driver at my work.
Like I said before, goin through the older videos to catch up. Kind of funny you dislike the bumper whereas I love it. To me it looks just right on the sides where it has the curve to match the steer tires. Perfection man!
you arent boring mate you are a man after my own heart ,I am an Aussie ex interstate truck driver when I came back after Vietnam war I went back driving interstate besause the lifestyle suited me I didnt have to bother with people to much just work and mind my own buisness
I absolutely LOVE the old KDubs!! I learned to drive in an '86 KW K100 cabover..it had the big white steering wheel, the old familiar sound of actual buzzers when you turned the key on, and a plethora of faded "bingo stickers" on the side of the cab. First Class is most definitely first class...she's gorgeous!
Sounds like a great life . Family it’s number one and it’s always precent on your mind . Awesome Veh , I will love to have one like that . Jeep on trucking, smart way to just worry about the truck it’s in off :
I found your channel via your Harley ride videos. I'm a 55 year old electrical engineer but when I was 12-15 years old I wanted to be an owner operator just like you. Thanks for providing a window into the world I dreamed of long ago.
you are the man. i really enjoyed the video and this is my dream truck, keep the videos coming keep it looking good, bonecrusher out of richmond, virginia
That’s a real nice truck and you are not boring, Kenworth trucks are my favorite since I was a little boy , I feel the same way about people also , when I’m not working I like to spend time with my family also .
The official name for people like us I'm told is we're introverts. Proud to be an introvert and really nice truck by the way. You've interested me enough to watch another one of your videos.
You have a wonderful personality. My first time watching. I watch Nic’s videos. Nic is single. Trucking is a job for a single man. Schmidt Family Trucking is a sweet concept but it’s never worked and never will work. Family men need to be home. Your children will resent your addiction to trucks. I’m sitting in my tenth K.W. 900 -L doing paperwork in Seattle. I never married or had children because I have an addiction to chrome, lights, and Cat engines. I turned my first wheel in 1979 in Oakland California. Get out while you can. Trucking is not for family men. A word to the wise.
From South Africa. Running a 1997 W-nine. On the most, there is ten or so left in the country. Unfortunately we will never be able to import KW’s again to this country, só; I recon I am SUPER BLESSED to have one. For me, the best there is. Mine run a CAT 3406E , 18 speed 3.55’s , 86” studio. Keep on trucking friend. We are the last frontier 🤝👍
I relate to u so much. I’m 30 just had a baby girl April 25th2020 and have a baby boy on the way due March 29th.. just got my cdl a permit going to trucking school in two weeks.. I definitely take inspiration from you
Just found your channel I've a k100 and w900L over here in the UK both show trucks but occasionally work wish I could move over to the USA with them and my scania v8
Thanks for letting us know what running gear "First Class" has. Down in Oz we have similar KW's but are from T900 to T909, 50inch max sleeper, i have a T909 painted dark green metallic paint with all the chrome, 2019 model, use it to go from farm too farm, Cummins powered 18 speed with 350.1 rears, haven't driven it much since the wife past, not legal with a three year old baby in it. But i often just sit there with a rum just looking at it so i get what your saying. Stay safe out there buddy.
I use the same koolatron cooler, its always better to bring food from home. Its cheaper and you actually know what your eating. Im 6'0 and running an 07 t800 right now. Seats on the floor, dont like the bounce and you can usually tell if somethings off with the truck when your not pogo sticking it.
Beautiful old gal.Had a 2000 W-9 wish I had kept it,but it was a few yrs ago, freight sucked so I sold it.Had it to do over, she would be out in the drive,or on the road.I just do local or short haul now,my little woman's health is bad,so have to stay close.Keep the shiny side up,be safe.Oh,some nice fenders on rears would make here really pop
My trucks a 2014 and I put 27k into my truck in the first year with less than 400k miles on the truck, buying a used truck is a pretty big gamble anyone that's done it will tell you that. I love the hell out of my pete it had a harder life then it should have but still breaks necks rolling down the road, its a very similar color to your w900. I've only been an owner op for 15 months now, own my own trailer as well and started decking for the first time. You got the last good years of the w900! best dash not that crappy redesign they did in the later 2000's. My only gripe against kenworth was the sleepers, until I just seen your sleeper I didn't get why anyone would want a classic Kenworth, almost zero usable storage space. Never knew the studio sleepers were actually that well designed I thought they were just like the other run of the mill ones like the 94 kw w900 I drove zero usable shelves. I love my peterbilt but I actually changed my mind about W900's I could buy one of those older trucks some day.
In other words you're a owner op leasing to Guenther. When I had my company I had my own trucks and trailers and sometimes would haul other companies freight (trip leasing). Worked out well for me because I could get freight when other drivers couldn't. Had awesome relationships with numerous small companies and a few larger ones (Werner, Schneider, Stevens) to handle some of their freight..
I like your truck dude it's very nice. The bad thing about it, my son is an engineer, fresh graduated from college at 44 years old and he just this week went to work for Peterbilt Trucks in Denton Texas. She is still a nice truck.
I'm jealous and in your same boat but different business opportunities. Looking to grow. I keep my eye on trucks love yours but all good things in time. Congrats and keep up the hard work! We need more people in this industry that take pride in their work because we're getting a bad name right now due to a bunch of fools and mega carriers.
Only 400000 miles? Damn good engine! Love the truck. It’s my dream truck since I was a kid. I got a 2007 W900L with a C15 CAT. It’s making 750hp being twin turbo and engine has been built. It’s all black and chrome. Studio sleeper, stretched frame with lift axle, etc. big bulky badass truck. I did buy my 2007 used... recently! A few months ago i got it for a good price. Engine made 600hp when I got it. It was twin turbo, it didn’t have that lift axle though but the frame was stretched a little which made it perfect for adding the lift axle. Truck is still coming along. Hopefully by the end of the year my dream truck be finished. Keep that truck man. Love the color. All it needs is new grill, steps like you say, and probably some other stuff. It’s needs a good polish. That’s it! She looks great just how she is now. Keep driving
Hey i see that you’ve purchased my dream truck as well😂. Seeing as its 2020 ill have to get mine use as well, was just wondering you have any advice for me or anyone that is looking to buy the same truck as you?
@@s22k21 I bought a 2007 nice mileage Kenworth W900L. It has the fantastic twin turbo C15 Acert CAT which made 625hp stock. It’s now making probably 800hp or over. Yeah I’d say buy a mid 2000s or early. Get the N14 Cummins if your a Cummins guy or get a CAT motor in it if your a Caterpillar guy
thanks for all the info i really enjoy your channel and thank you for the job you do i am a kw guy myself and i like cat engines so the fact that you have a c16 is great, i was wondering what happened to the elephant ears on the air cleaners and how come you dont at least run quarter fenders keep up the good work and thank you for your time
I took off the the ears, I like the look of the breather tube only. As for the fenders, that's just pure laziness. I want to repaint the frame before I put them on and just haven't got to them yet. This summer I plan to.
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 o okay I was just wondering cause without the fenders I know when it rains it usually makes rooster tails and that would make me crazy I get it though with the way your always running you don't have the time
I know that this is a Old Video But a Really Good One Your Not Boring You sound Like a Kool Guy Who Love's Trucking That's so exciting to Me Question what kind of Motorcycle do You Ride? Awesome Video
