Awesome bike dude! Those Yamaha 1700s are solid motors. I have a '11 Road King. I definitely understand what you're saying about the exhaust note. Cruisers are all about the character. It's like driving a '60's muscle car. They're not as fast nor handle as well as a lot of modern cars, but the experience is unlike anything else. My only advice would be go practice low speed maneuvers in a parking lot to get used to the handling of the heavier bike.

I have a 2005 Warrior! They are a hybrid sport bike / muscle cruiser. Fantastic machines. Mine is full stage 1

I had a midnight warrior years ago, bought it new and came back with an oil temp sensor recall. I took it to HYR Motorsports in Redlands California to take care of factory recall. they decided to change sensor which was located inside the motor case. They send me down the road with no oil in my motor. completely destroyed the engine. They then decided to offer me a rebuild and warranty which I really did not have a whole lot of options since you cannot get a new motor for these bikes like you can a Harley Davidson. After their repairs there was always a bearing noise that came up at a very specific engine RPM, of course they could never duplicate the sound during test rides. I gave up on Japanese bikes and dealers all together. I now have 12 bikes consisting of KTM's and Harley Davidson's. The warrior was a great bike until the dealer ruined it for me.

That really sucks, but glad you pushed through it and are still riding !!! Everything happens for a reason (keep telling yourself so you don't go insane) and apparently set you on another path of yet other great brands !!! I am a YAMMIE guy, although have owned several HD's, never a KTM, they seem to need more attention, more repairs, although they are a performance machine and things break when your running on the edge all the time. Grew up riding Yamaha YZ moto-X bikes and will always miss them ! Am 62 now, so Motocross is a little extreme for me now, lol !!! Respect !!!

Pretty dam good looking bike right there!! The tank was made perfect for the look, but i think the rear fender should've been arched to match the lines of the rear tire instead of going away from the angle .. Curious what TMV thoughts are on the 2014-2016 FZ09's are..the upward riding style shouldn't be to big of an issue for his hip.

I cannot get used to forward controls. My Hypermotard 1100 feels like my old XR400 on steroids.

The forward pegs/controls are not for aggressive riding. I just have forward pegs that i built for my normal control bike. I put my feet up there, (with one finger on the front brake and clutch, as I forgo my foot controls for relaxation), and drive it like a noisy, (A Harley with almost open pipes), mobile lazy boy recliner, using the power of a Briggs and Stratton output. Ahhhhhhh. Relaxing. Just stay away from other people,---and enjoy the ride. :) I made my froward pegs more like platforms, where I rest my feet on them like an living room ottoman.

Super Rad bike, not my 1999 R1 but the same spirit and drive🤙 Has a lot of gusto, and torque to keep it up with the big dawgs!! A sport bike douche, but son of a buck this bastard could keep up with the 23yr old R1 without fail!! Gnarly acceleration, bitchin handling, and awesome torque💪 Best cruiser /sportster invented in my opinion ♥

I have two 1973. Cr 250,s both came in same crate, I raced one of them to more than 100 first place wins. The other one has less than 10 hours run time, maybe,0 still beautiful new, in every way. I want to talk with you, can we talk , let me know. I was the first person to move shock's forward for LTR around here in the mid south,. what month and year did the dirt bike magazine show the photo of shock's moved forward, that month was when I painted my Cr red. What was that date, I am a old man now and would like to remember it, it was a great time for me.

My 90lb buddy, (at the time, 20 pounds ago), could pull off a 3rd gear holeshot on grass with his 73 CR250,---one long trench until topped out and hitting 4th gear. I have a rare Mt. Bike made in the states, (A Ti Nuke Proof), that museums are interested in, but won't pay me anything for it, (run by bernie like progressives, I am sure). But you can also sell it at an action. I am sure it won't be parted out. Nice bike to have though. :)

I bought, for my first and only street bike, a slightly used 2007 Harley Sportster (Nightster) in early 2009 just after obama got elected,---figuring, "I better grab a hand full of the USA while I still can." To this day, I am sure I made the right choice.
