Hey Folks, been a little while. I keep meaning to say thank you to everybody for watching my vids and I enjoy all the comments I get. I've left USX. I don't regret working for them...I learned a lot there but it was time to move on. I've gone to John Christner Trucking and am doing a lease/purchase with them. In a mere 20 years this baby will be mine!! LOL, it's not that bad. Really like the truck! It's got a longer wheel base, 10" deeper sleeper, more goodies, an APU AND Freightliner has made a few changes with the engine since 2011. BUT, best of all IT'LL BE MINE ONE DAY!!!As of 04/01/12 I'm one month into the lease. I'm getting settled in and think I'll be happy here...I hope, stay tuned.

Some guys whining on here never had the balls to finish a lease that's why they claim you won't own it it never do it. You have good and bad times. Tuff it out and in the end you get your reward

There will always be haters,doesn’t matter what you do or don’t do. At the end of the day,they don’t pay your bills. I did the same thing with CFI drivers telling me I will never own the truck. Well two years later I paid the truck off and two more years after that I owned two more trucks after I went on my own with my own authority. So who’s going to tell me it doesn’t work?

The side window you would find is a Helper for Blind Side Backing. Nice looking rig. I drove a 2006 Columbia out west and it was an automatic...Good Luck in the future.

I've talked to an older guy who drove a twin stick. From his explainations, basically what you have now, like 10 speed with hi/low switch. But in the old days, 1 stick is for hi/low, other stick is for the gears.

Hey MrDrdaveturbo. The headlights aren't faded, it's morning dew. I never noticed it when I made the clip until someone else pointed it out too. It was a cool morning and I never thought to wipe off the dew.

Hey guys, well I'm getting close to 4 months now. What can I say...it's trucking. I've had REALLY good checks and REALLY bad checks. As I'm learning who's who, what's what and our freight lanes are thing are getting better and easier. As far as what choices they have in trucks, it varies. Possibilities are: Prostar's, Cascadia's, Pete 386's & KW 660's.

King, at the end of the five year lease JCT has a $1 buy out option. In other words in 2017 he owns a 2012 freightliner.

Hey 775, that's correct. They do have a few company drivers but only a few for specific purposes. They require at least 1 year OTR experience also.

I drove US Xpress for 2 yrs, they kept giving my lds to teams. The last time, I spent 14 hrs in the Michigan ice n snow, moving tandems, getting lded, waiting, weighing, on n on n on. I made it to western IL that night and shut down, with 3 days to go 2100 miles to SF...they gave my ld to a team and sent me back to PA in the snow. I quit!

Hey Echo. Well, if finding a spot at night were the biggest thing I had to worry about...LOL. USX had switched back to 10 speed manual's a couple years ago. I had a 2011 Cascadia with a manual my last year with them, (I've got vids posted of all my USX trucks.) I appreciated the automatics when I was new, I didn't have to worry about shifting and could concentrate on everything around me. So, shifting isn't new to me and I DO prefer it to the automatics. I was hoping however that JCT had 13 sp

Mcredd7, Thanks Man, I appreciate it. I really like my truck too, I liked my USX Cascadia but this one is even better. I recommend everyone to drive, even if it's just for a year; it'll make a better driver out of you AND you'll get to see this great country of ours. Good luck, if I can help in anyway let me know.

they are good trucks no doubt. But im looking into the INT Lone Star truck. I know they got the best fuel mileage I have heard off. But still need to check one out first.

Hey Intoxicated. The truck stops sell mini satellite dishes for trucks. They run about $300.00 ,(I think) then you pay a monthly subscription fee....just like at home.

Hey needlenose. Actually I can stretch both my legs out under the dash, that's one reason I like this truck. My USX Cascadia had a 60" sleeper and a 12" shorter wheelbase. I'm 6'2", I couldn't stretch my legs out in that truck. In this truck I can't have the drivers seat slide all the way back and still be able to drive...I guess it's the bigger cab.

CEOKILLER, you kinda lost me. Are you talking about the gauge on the dash, in the cab? That measures how much weight is on my 5th wheel. As far as the gauges on the reefer unit itself, they are only 1 zone trailers. When I was with USX, I pulled reefer trailers for Kroger, (A grocery chain) for a week. Their trailers were multi zone and you could have 3 different zones, the display on the reefer unit would show the temp for each zone. Hope that answers your question. If not, drop me another lin

You guys be careful if you're going to JCT. I was with them for 3 1/2 years. 2003 through 2006. Made a good living working with them for 3 years. I had my own tractor and leased it to them. But for some reason they moved people around in the office and I got stuck with a very inept dispatcher. Things went down hill very fast and I was put on this guys shit list for some reason. I have always been old school & have run my butt off for 25 years until this guy came. I liked the guys in the shop.

For that trailer temp guage... what if you are running 3 zones at different temps in the trailer? Can it measure that?

That driver might have really meant twin sticks. As in the shifters for the transmission. Ya never know!

OK guys, everybody's picking on my "plastic" truck. Well, I like it! I've got WAY more room than any Pete, (Go ahead...try to deny it) or KW, (Except for the 86" studio.) At least I don't have to pivot my armrests to get into the sleeper. While old "Twin sticks", (I think he meant "Twin STACKS") may "blow" by me, I'll be passing him at the fuel stop. I will admit I really like the look of the "square nose" Pete's and KW's, they ARE the "traditional", "classic" trucks HOWEVER, I REALLY like the

Needlenose, you have to explain this "twin stick" stuff to me. I know "back in the day" some trucks had twin sticks but that was before my lifetime. I haven't seen a truck with twin sticks, (From the factory) in 40 years. Is this something you did yourself? AND, what do you have for an engine? A Cat?

I hate to breakt it too you but the company isnt too great. Like you said in the begining towards the end it wasnt great. My dad worked for them about 1 1/2 years and he loved it at first made great money, but towards the end they had him running from Fort Worth Tx to Cali atleast 2-3 times a week, and was not going home long enough to get a nights rest. At the end for him he was gone weeks on end and home maybe a night (if lucky). Go with National Carries GREAT COMPANY He makes good $ and home!

Be careful with JCT had a friend there before the went elogs and they didn't care about being legal or the driver and trk. I have a lease purchace with prime and I make good money here with 72% of the freight rate

thos big companies pay you less they dont pay you even 800$ week.that why they hire peoples with less than 1 month with their cdl and a high risk truck drivers on the road thats why those companies make big money and they have their own insurrance because of the less experience drivers

the window on the right side of the bunk is for backing in on your blind side !!!! and ummm you need new head lights the are hazed really bad looks like you like to tail gate to me they look sand blasted
