this is Kenny. she's a 2022 Kenworth t680. Based on my driving style (I start driving between 12am-3am when there's no traffic) I get about 9-9.6 mpg. On a bad day I get 8mpg which I think is pretty amazing for a semi truck. The ride is what I really like about it. It's a tank. It runs over potholes without you noticing that you're actually running over a pothole. Ride comfort is amazing.

Just for clarification for any new drivers out there. The RED "parking brake" in NOT a parking brake. Pushing it in supplies air to the trailer, pulling it out cuts off air to the trailer. Do not use it as a parking brake. Use the yellow handle for parking. The trailer does set the brakes when air is cut off with the red handle but they are not always strong enough to hold the truck from rolling. Some trailers, especially old trailers will release the brakes if iar drains from the tank.

Alex, that Aerodyne design your T680 has was developed by Kenworth in the 1970s as one of the first "condo' sleepers. It was first used on the K100 cabover. The T680 alone was a very creative design by Kenworth. I think that Kenworth really have some talented artists at their office not too far from Seattle. The windows in the doors we could say came from Sterling, and the dash came from two GMC products. The driver's area was from the GMC Brigadier and the passenger side was to pay homage to the GMC fishbowl bus. Now for me, I come from an era when the GMC Brigadier was in production, many transit agencies bout thousands of GMC fishbowl buses. I used to ride the GMC fishbowl bus on several transit routes in my hometown. The trucks that ran in regular service when I was a teenager often had the steel dashboards. When Kenworth made the K200 for Australian trucking companies, they did it again but made the dash to pay homage to the GMC Astro 95. When I was your age, Kenworth still had the flat dashboard in the W900, and the T800. They also made the T600 that also had the flat dash as well. Your's is much easier to handle since you don't have to deal with the center "A" pillar in the windshield. The trucks of my era did have them.

You ain't the only one bro. I use a George Foreman electric grill. I also bought an Air Purifier to get rid of any smoke. Also, you know you use Google maps for that overhead Satellite view of places!! Just not for the trusted actual trucking route. Also, I too use the top bunk. I have a a Volvo now, and the bottom bunk folds up into a table and 2 bench seats. I just leave it folded up all the time. It's like I have a bedroom and a kitchen. It's awesome. My truck has an APU so I don't have to run the Truck while using my appliances like my grill or microwave.

Does your truck have an APU? If it does, it's not only for heat/AC, but as long as you have it in stand by, it will start up when your battery level goes below 12.3 volts. It's entire purpose is so you don't have to idle to stay comfortable while only using approximately only 1/2 gallon of fuel in an entire 8 hour of being parked.

You might want to go through your manual and understand what all the switches are for on the dash and then when and how to use them...... if you have an engine fan switch it's definitely handy to know when to use it, especially if you drive through mountains on a hot day. The yellow knob is your parking brake, that's the knob you should be using all the time when you park. It activates both the tractor and the trailer spring parking brakes. You push the trailer air supply knob in after connecting your trailer, and that knob should ALWAYS remain in and never pulled out unless and until you are about to release your trailer. I'm not a trucker but I got to drive a free-wheelin tractor a couple hundred yards a few times in the loading dock lot where I used to work...... with an Eaton 12 speed. You have no idea how far your truck has come in a short amount of time lol - that steering wheel is about the size of my Chevy Camaro's And your meal actually looks really good!!!

"We never use google maps" I do all the time. Every load. Of course I use my truck GPS as well but alot of the time the truck gps' dont have a full complete map of all the roads...or they think normal highways are off limits to trucks or things like that. So its good to have google to see where the truck gps could be messing you up and costing you time and money. Not to mention being able to look at the satellite view and see exactly where it is and how to enter the facility the right way for the truck. You should always be checking google maps in my opinion.

That engine fan should be your best friend and I highly recommended using especially in the mountain's. Anything above 220 is hard on the motor. The new trucks of today the engine fan will usually come on at around 210 with a Paccar Cummins motor. To me it's still way to hot to be kicking on at 210.
