Luka should definitely win it. When was the last time a guy put up 33-9-10 and wasn’t the mvp favorite. And the team record thing doesn’t apply anymore.the mavs won 50 games.
Jokic's bad games are like that game where he had 4 points but also 16 assists and 6 blocks or something. Bro had multiple 100% fg triple doubles this season. Still leads candidates in TS%, still got 2nd seed, did it without Murray 1/3 of the season, had basketball terrorist reggie jackson and a bench of borderline rookies, played 9 more games than luka.
Not having kd in top 10 list is wild and having Steph over kd is wild as kd played 74 games and average 27-6-5 Also luka deserves MVP this season 34-9-10 is crazy altho jokic is amazing with 26-12-9
@@Howboutthosechiefs-wp4wwpoint still stands kd stats are better he’s also better on the defensive side plus Beal only played 53 games he missed half the season almost
@@Howboutthosechiefs-wp4wwKd is a tall wing I really doubt him and beal would be guarded by the same player anyways. Also if you watched any suns games you would know Kd still gets blitzed and doubled considering beal barely played
You're really gonna call that 4 point game that he had over 15+ assists in a bad game? Come on man, just say you have a Luka bias, which you've shown before, and say you don't want Jokic winning it. Jokic not scoring a lot doesn't equal a bad game.
I’ve said this in other MVP videos. Right before Embiid got injured (January 28) he was averaging 36 PPG 6 AST 11 RBS (53 Pts+Ast+Rbs) 3rd in the East and the 7th best record in the NBA and he was "running away with the MVP". Luka is averaging 34 PPG 10 AST 9 RBS (53 Pts+Ast+Rbs) with a record that would put him 2nd in the East(too bad he's in the west) and 6th in the NBA. Look if you believe that Embiid would’ve won without the injury then you should have Luka as MVP because he didn’t catch up to Jokic, he caught up to the version of Embiid that didn’t get injured(who in my opinion was ahead). Luka is the clear MVP
@@destroiz yeah but here I feel as though the gap between embiid and Lukas defence is much bigger than the gap between Luka and embeds playmaking, (keep in mind embiid was averaging 6 asts and 2 blks been the defensive anchor of him tm, while Luka is an average defender at best, and while Lukas playmaking is really good I feel as though embiid really stepped up in that department this season
@@DanielUgwumadu Embiid is not a bad passer but I wouldn’t say he’s generating plays, he has a role on playmaking(usually being like an on ball moving screen or a roll man)and occasionally he does find a great pass but to me that’s similar to how Luka has a minor role on defense and he’s been good at that (he’s got 1.4 steals and 0.5 blocks) while being good on ISO defense, that discourages people from just switching onto him and then beat him in a 1 on 1 but I don’t think that qualifies him as a “great defender” that’s just good enough to not make him a liability . Embiid is “good enough” as a passer otherwise you would just Blitz him every play. If there’s a gap i don’t think it’s that significant
If Kyrie had played as many games this year as Jamal Murray did in 2022, Luka would have been a more serious MVP candidate. Instead, Kyrie has played 58 games this year (Jamal also has 58), and despite that, Dallas' record is only slightly better than Denver's 2022 record when Jokic played without Jamal and MPJ for the entire season. It is not enough. In order to have a real chance for the MVP, Luka, in addition to great statistics, must be either top 3 with Kyrie or top 6 without him. Neither is happening.
The reason Jokic win it without Murray and MPJ is because there wasn’t any good candidates that year. So that argument doesn’t work for luka, because Jokic averaged 28/12/9 and had the best record in the west.
It’s good to see Curry getting some recognition for carrying the warriors all the way way to the play in with with a bunch of rookies , a ufc fighter and a washed klay thompson. Oh and an old man that’s trying to win a ring before he dies.
If a team built around one player, has the said player out of the equation and the team actually becomes real bad, would you be surprised? Really? It's no use arguing against him anyways when he's got the durability of a non tempered glass
@@AndrewFenichelsixers would’ve gave the Celtics a run for the one if embiid was healthy, the lineup of Maxey melton batum Harris and embiid was near 10 points per 100 possessions better than the Celtics starters
This is why regular fans have no say in MVP voting. Advanced stats put Jokic ahead of everyone by a mile. His effiency, win shares, and VORP smoke everybody.
do you watch basketball? stats arent everything. If you watch what luka is doing and then watch what jokic is doing, jokic isnt far ahead if at all. Luka is doing more for his team night in night out. Who cares if hes less efficient, hes a guard compared to a center. Hes putting up more numbers and doing more for his team. If you watch the nuggets without jokic on the field, they still function and dont just fall apart. Same cant be said for the mavs. When luka is off, they fall apart and die. Luka is literally more valuable to that team, and is carrying harder than jokic aswell
@@imthatgayguy So you say stats aren't everything, then point out data that stats show perfectly? The +/- with Jokic on the floor is significantly better. Again, stats show that Jokic is literally doing more for his team than Luka is. 😂 The voters know this, which is why Jokic won it this year.
Bro he didn't even put him in the thumbnail lmao dude said something positive about every person he talked about here then just totally dismissed Shai to talk about how much "Better" Giannis is this season. He also picked Pels to beat OKC in the first round lol like c'mon bro fr I'd have a lot more respect for dude if he just flat out admitted he doesn't like Shai and OKC, Cause it's blatantly obvious at this point lol
Brunson put up 40+ twice on the best defensive guard in the league in alex Caruso (I’m biased) Most underrated player in the league and I hope he wins MVP someday
Important to mention in every 10 point game jokic had he got a triple double And those were mostly all “Murray is back” games where he was asked to get it to Murray
@@geovanni2117Yes Luka should be the favorite in the MVP race. So thats why its disrespectful. Jokic has had a lot of bad games and Luka onky had one bad game.
@@geovanni2117 Now most people say it. But a month ago no matter how better Lukas stats are, yall still had Jokic #1. I love Jokic as a player, but this year its Lukas to win
Whether it's Jokic or Doncic, can't go wrong, if I'm being honest. They both have had excellent years. Back before Griffin was fired, it would have been Giannis for me, but he hasn't been his usual self since Rivers took over.
The fact that Shai is some people’s serious favorite to win MVP is crazy. He’s great, but there is literally zero reason to pick him over Giannis, Luka, and Jokic.
i fw you but saying does anybody realize giannis having career highs in assists and FG% but not giving shai credit for having career highs in literally every stat is wild
@@TOlp-oe3fp shais season is more impressive. more wins less expectations for team wins and his success. this dude is just a hater. ofc giannis was more efficient he had the most shooting on his team hes ever had.
Good thing he doesn't have a vote. Jokic played more games meaning he has higher total in all categories other than points and 3 points made. Jokic also has a higher efficiency, defensive rating and less total turnovers than Luka.
those 4 single digit scoring games that Jokic had during the season: Game #14 vs Detroit (+4 W) 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists in 15 mins Game #24 vs Chicago (+8 W) 4 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists in 16 mins Game #27 vs Dallas (+26 W) 8 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists in 28 mins Game #37 vs Detroit (+17 W) 4 points, 7 rebounds, 16 assists in 24 mins
don’t forget kyrie was out for like half the season but then the mvp voters are like “well luka got destroyed today” “he wasn’t playing” “the best ability is availability”
1. Jokic 2. SGA 3. Giannis 4. Luka 5. Brunson Jokic is 1st in Win shares, PER, and PIE. Luka is 5th, 4th and 2nd respectively. Don’t know how you can put him over jokic.
