Very helpful info on cast-ons - I will have to try the German Twisted. I'm currently working on 2-at-a-time-toe-up socks & a sweater for my son, the Soundtrack Pullover (at the ribbing on the bottom so almost done :-) Love the Harvest Red color yarn.
I would pick the blue color. Blue is one of my favorite colors. Next Thursday night Dec 22 the forecast low is 9 degrees. That is really cold in North Alabama.
My vote goes for Harvest. I recently reverse-engineered this quick-knit gift-able stash-buster: a formerly-free no-longer-available cabled tapered headband: Broadband by Stacey Gerbman; a currently free pattern (on Ravelery) with a similar tapered construction is Morning Walk Headband Earwarmer by Tif Matthews; and a for-sale tapered cabled headband is Winding Paths headband by Barbara Benson
I like the blue!! Right now I am binding off a Smriti shawl by Nidhi Kansal and playing yarn chicken... The lows I see in our forecast for NE Montana are -28F and -27F for next Wednesday and Thursday nights (Dec 21 & 22). That is as far as our forecast goes, but it looks like it may be somewhat warmer by the weekend (and Christmas). And it's snowing!
I love that beautiful blue. Thanks for the tips on things to make. It’s going to be unseasonably cold for us at Christmas!! 🥶. My Florida kids are going to freeze!
One of the projects I'm working on is Waum Mitts by Tracy Hill. I love this pattern, the ribbing helps the fit and I think the gusset is perfect. I have already gifted 22 pairs of these mitts, this is #23. I love the Matisse Blue color. Amazing color.
I really love the Harvest color. I am currently working on a sweater by Olive Knits called Sandscape Slipped Stitch Pullover from her seamless knit sweaters in 2weeks book! Best wishes to you from Meridian Idaho!
Piedras. I am working on a secret test knit - pull over sweater. I am also working the Giftalong2022… I have hats, neckwarmers, and slippers to finish up. 28 low 40 high.
