Great video love your stuff! With all that said if you ever looked up Jeff cavaliers variation on this? He does what he calls a rocking tricep push down, with the purpose of the rocking being to be to keep the angle of force consistent at the bottom. obviously not trying to critique you or anything I watch both of you guys to learn stuff 😂
3:00 I like that idea. I personally have a tough time feeling the lateral and medial heads of the triceps working on presses put partial pushes like push-ups or dips have helped me connect with these muscle groups and I'm seeing good results from it
Doing this today! Your videos are getting better every time! I’ve been doing that kettle bell curl for a few weeks... at first people were looking at me like I was committing a gym fail? Between that and more hammer curls my arms are bigger than ever! Thanks Dog!
My favorite tricep exercises are close grip bench press as close as I can go. I've gone up to 335 on these for a few reps. I usually go barx10, 135x10, 225x10, then 315 x3-5, 335x3-5, then back down to 225x10 for a last set. I also love weighted dips and dips for triceps. For a great pump in the triceps I love the Hammer Strength seated tricep machine. I can go heavy and knock out sets of 10-15 for a great pump.
John, at 3:35 you talked about driving nutrients into the muscles, so what kind of repranges would you suggest when doing supersets and arms in general?
hi i have been going to the gym consistantly for a year, lately i have started experiencing some shoulder and elbow pain, im tthinking about taking a week off would it help?
My dog!!! I fought Cancer twice and lost a big piece of my face to amputation. A tumor ate up my jaw and I was labeled an ugly freak. I started over from scratch, and started a RU-vid channel to inspire others who feel ugly and not good enough for this superficial world.. my face will not define me. with positive projection you can overcome any mental or physical hurdle. go check me out and subscribe if you want to help me grow. i want to give people a spark of change and join me on my journey!
Today is actually arm day so ... see now I'm in a bind, I have my own superset that I use, but I like to play around with your techniques and see how they work for me (fyi - almost all of them are 100% 🔥 for me 🤙🏻) .. Looks like it's four sets today! #sorrynotsorry #nopainnogain #gainzz
All great videos from you and good tips .just starting to get back into training in my 40s . But got tennis elbow any tips for trying to train around it. I do use a elbow support .
I got to say Mr Meadows I sub to a few fitness & bodybuilding channels & your channel I find the videos the most informative with a great mix of inventive exercises which I’ve used to add to my catalogue of exercise choices, thank you Mr Meadows 💪, I always love supersets, drop sets etc
I walked into the gym the other day... 3 newbies were doing YO YO SETS... one guy says to the other ... are you sure this will make my arms grow?? The other says.. I saw it on John Meadows channel man.. He's got HUGE arms!!! Of course its gonna work!
IM a natural doing Gironda perfect barbell curl to concentration curl to barbell tricep extension standing to dumbbell tricep extension 8 to 10 reps 10 sets all 4 exercises 3 days a week for arms always super sets
Man I did light weight biceps curls ( just 5lbs) past the point of it burning my muscle. Did that for about 3/4 sets. And I get this uncomfortable sprain in the middle of my elbow, definitely believe it tendinitis because my muscle wasn’t sore. Any way around that ?
Not a biceps and triceps superset but I love supersetting EZ bar concentration curls with standing cable reverse curls with EZ bar and false grip. I tend to go heavy 8-10 on the concentration curl and lighter 12-15 on the reverse curl. Arms feel like they're going to explode after!
I usually only super set shoulders with a light side lateral dumbbell lift. Most of the time but not always I will complete a working set of dumbbell shoulder press or a set of 5/6 reps of slightly heavier and chase em with side lateral raises until my traps kick in. Depending of how much weight will determine the amount of reps. I usually get between 20-55 reps. On occasion I will do drop set super sets chasing those presses. I’m real careful though. I don’t need to jeopardize my shoulder I will cut it short if I feel it’s going to possibly get ugly. Sometimes a time under tension is better for me.
First things first: yoyo wizardly is there, so the video is certified. Questions: - Is the easy-bar preacher curls equivalent to these concentration dumbles preacher curls? - For the triceps, there a variation i like a lot and it is easier on my elbows: the overhead cable with v-shaped var or robe. Does it have the same effect as the cattle bell exercise you have done? how are they different if so. I find that some triceps exercises hurt my elbows and/or shoulders (e.g. military press hurts the shoulders initially but later reps are ok). Sorry for the long comment.
Awesome stuff. Anyone know of any more videos going through "unconventional" or "uncommon" exercises like these that work really well, not some dumb shit? I feel my workouts are getting a bit stale.
I noticed that you were only curling up 90 a lot. In the past, you've also mentioned curling and bringing your elbow forward. Is that an exercise dependent thing?
i did the arnold style shoulders and arms once, decided to take 10 days off of training to let the body heal - but his arm workout is back to basics and the arms, top down, feel like they're going to pop - hate the journey to that part but f me afterward i don't feel like a million bucks, and completely wiped.
Hey John huge fan!!! I am a touring musician and a sponsored bowler...not only am I looking to get in shape to look good on stage but I also want to be the strongest guy on the lanes...I was wondering what supplements if any your would suggest...I am workng my ass off to get ripped and not seeing much for results...
I need to try the 2 handle pressdowns. I do pressdowns for warm ups but never honestly like them. They just never feel quite right but I have a hard time breaking old habits.
I saw you do the kettlebell tricep one before. I liked it so much I went out and bought 2 kettlebells, because I have dumbbells. But the kettlebell bicep one is new to me. It kinda looks like a drag curl exercise. But I'll try it.
One of the arm supersets I like doing is seated dumbell curls with your arm behind your body on an incline bench and then bring it up for skullcrushers or vice versa.
