I started doing more hand sewn couture techniques when I got accustomed to using a thimble for ALL hand sewing. I love the one with the hard plastic top and the soft slip-on part.
Thanks for sharing. Love your machine. I’ve got a vintage Bernina 910 and she’s a tank. That thimble you recommended may actually work on my arthritic finger since it is flexible.
Glad it was helpful! I hope the thimble works for you. It’s the most comfortable one that I’ve found. And it holds up with thick seams and fabric which is an added bonus.
Those magnetic edge guides didn't work for me - the metal on my throat plate is just too small (it's mostly plastic in that area), so they didn't grab and stay in place well enough. :(
This may help, I found silicone finger protectors which come in three sizes per pack. They are very flexible and work well. I’ve had them for a while but I believe I purchased them from JoAnn Fabrics😊
