As someone who has used both as an illustrator I feel Krita was treated a tad unfairly when being compared to Photoshop. Photoshop is more of a jack of all trades tool whereas Krita specializes more in illustration and 2D rendering. Overall compositing is better in Photoshop but I'd be lying if I said Krita doesn't feel way more intuitive when it comes to actual illustrating and painting.

Don't be treated mate! That's based on my experience and what I have met during my path. I really never met someone working with Krita, but I'm saying about 3D Art guys, so maybe thats why

@@ZugZugArt Aye, no worries! Just somethin' I thought was a bit weird and wanted to share thoughts on. Krita is definitely more of a competitor in the 2D field (if you ask me it's slowly growing into being the "Blender of the 2D World"), I haven't tried it for anything 3D yet but I would imagine some of the brushes it has could make for some really cool stylization. You wouldn't be able to paint on the model itself (unless someone made a plugin for it, which honestly could be likely) and rather do it the old fashioned way but it could be interesting. If anything you've got the brain juice flowing and I'm tempted to try making a texture with the software now.

@@DuskEalain That's actually sounds very interesting! Like using it unique brushes to paint the model in old method, could be cool! Feel free to join our Art Discord and share your results there :) We have over 1k stylized artists and students growing and learning together, who would love to see what could be done with free software like Krita

@@ZugZugArt Sounds like fun! I'll have to get to experimenting with it, and hop on to share the results!

Damn makes me wish i could afford Zbrush but the subscription model really turns me off. Say as someone who used both 3DCoat and Blender which would you recommend for sculpting ?
@ZugZugArt
@ZugZugArt 4 месяца назад
Yep... That's why I'm still using ZBrush 2022, that wad one time payment. Not sure if they still sell that type of licence... I would say Blender could do pretty nice for simple stylized sculpts. But you will need dozens of addons :)

@@ZugZugArt Thanks for the fast response i appreciate it :D And sadly they do not sell any sort of perpetual license anymore for zbrush but i think im gonna do fine with Blender! Since you mentioned addons are there any must haves you'd recommend in regards to sculpting ?

Even though I've been using Photoshop for many years and still use it at studio work, I still find that Krita have some digital painting features that are better. I use both programs. I like the brush feel more in Krita (RGBA Wet brush pack is fantastic). I like how the guides work. It has some painting focused color selectors, wrap around mode and bunch of other stuff. Photoshop still wins when it comes to editing and being well rounded program but in some areas it stopped developing many years ago.

Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience with Krita, maybe I will give it one more try in the future :)

I have been using all of them & from modeling perspective I would suggest 3DS Max modeling tool is better than Maya & it's auto retopology tool is also better than Maya & Zremesher. But that is only with respect to Modeling pipeline. Now when you introduce animation & rigging It's Maya no doubt.

Hey! Thanks for comment! Very rarely I hear that someone prefer 3dsmax over others, do you work on hardsurfaces mostly?

@@ZugZugArt I used to, but right now mostly working on procedural assets for Environment, so mostly with Gaea, Speedtree & Houdini. Still at beginner level with Houdini; but working on it.
