I am currently living in your old room in Dumaguete. I sure hope I don’t end up in your old room in Cebu detention 😮rethinking my retirement here now. Glad you made it out alive. How would someone eat and survive without money ? Would they let them die of thirst ? Just crazy after all the Americans that died liberating the Philippines in WW II.

😂😂Yeah to be honest I’ve thought the same thing. I remember this building from the 90’s it’s the old immigration building. I was new to the Philippines and my overiding memory was that the immigration staff behind the glass had great aircon and when you went to the window a welcome rush of ice cold air would shoot through the tiny open part of the window. While all the customers waiting various visas and extensions would have to sit in ridiculous heat. That was my first clue that things were done a little differently here😂
After being told about and shown the detention facility where you were housed, Paul, it's clear that no one would ever want to be detained by the authorities in any third world country, not just the Philippines.
Paul that is God awful and yet you still had the fortitude to say anything good about the place and your experience there. Truly a humbling moment for me to see this. Glad you received your meds and got out alive. Hopefully this exposure will nudge a bit of change for the better. No one anywhere should be living that way or working in such inhumane filth 🙏🏾

@@bieragaino440 My first trip to Cebu, was in June 2001. It sure looks like the building, for tourist visa extensions. I’ve been there many times! The building is located meters away from a big fire station. From the Cebu Seaport, terminal one, travel on the main road, past Robinson’s Galleria Mall. Continue past S.M Mall, Park Mall and The Mandaue Convention Center(MCC).The road veers to the right. Travel about 800+ feet to the fire station, from the now defunct MCC. The old immigration center building, is on a side street. The address is P.J. Burgos. Directly behind the fire station. Google Maps, with street view, shows the proper signage for the building.
He could bench press his body weight. He could squat his body weight. And he could run a 10 minute mile on demand. The reason all of those are required is because of the nature of the place. No matter what people tell you Paul shows you how one must be before they get on the jet. 10 minutes mile at most Strength to life one's body weight Lower body leg strength to squat one's body weight Military grade breathable Vietnam Era Jungle Boots Long sleeves shirt and long pants A mosquito net An independent means of transportation that is self powered A mountain bike. I make sure I have those things available and can pass those physical tests just as Paul has. Knowing how the prisons and jails operate is essential in South of The Rio Grande, African, the Philippines. The first thing I buy is always planting soil, and vegetables that grow. I do not care if I am in a five star hotel. There was nothing that prevented Paul from growing his own food when he was there. Also, there is a rice rat that people eat in the afore mentioned places. I will eat them in a second. Any insect, especially mosquitoes gets eaten. Protein is hard to come by. One has to pull out all stops in normal life to be prepared for when the ship hits the rocks. Read Robinson Crusoé. Ask yourself how he decided what to take off the ship wreck first? In the German version they show Robinson in the Captain's command room with a cast of a thousand gold coins in front of him. Querva De Vaca en route to Brasil almost hits the rocks before the island of Santa Catalina. How does the ship avoid the rocks? It turns out, for some reason De Vaca does not explain, cricket do note sound with their wings on thé high seas. But once thé are close to Land they sound off. In nations that are still back in thé 1800rds once has to bê réceptive to thé old tecnologia. Paul was ready for the worst. And preparation cost him nothing. Sorry for what you went through, the pain and suffering. And hearing old BJ in the background behind his sheet there makes me terrified. Stay positive Paul
I was thinking the same thing. But if you managed to escape, you're still imprisoned in the Philippines. With no passport, you're not going to get very far. Unless you can jump aboard a cargo ship without getting caught.
@@Steveo_00700 If you have money, you can take a boat to a neighboring country. Plus everyone should keep a picture of their passport in their phone. He had access to his phone.
I'm more disappointed in OUR government for letting the Philippines officials do this to Americans. Isn't Philippines largest Product Monetarily is Tourism. Our government should ban all Americans from traveling to that place. The detainment center in North Korea is nicer and they get a meal and the US government has banned travel there. I'm gonna try to formulate a letter to sent to my State of Texas representative. I was in the Philippines only a week but this is OUTRAGEOUS!
Hey Paul, sorry to see these terrible experiences you’ve been through. Paul, you’ve been invited to an interview with another channel. I would be very careful about accepting buddy. This man is good friends with someone who may be complicit in your original arrest. Trust no one. All the best pal.
After watching your living conditions in that detention center, makes my quality of living in wartime Iraq and Afghanistan similar to Disneyland. Minus the daily imminent alarm red sirens, the rumble of the C-RAM going off on incoming mortars, and the sound of distant gunfire.
Considering you already did your time, it's terrible that you should have to go through this nightmare because someone (a foreigner of all people) set you up. People keep commenting on the Philippines being corrupt, but just remember it was a foreigner who set you up.
Hi Just curious if you think one of the "guards" would have taken a "large" bribe to let you out of there? I know you still would of had to get someone else to get you out of the country.
Happy to see your back! So after what you’ve been through in the Philippines, are you able to return toCebu? or did they block you from returning? Or do you still have a desire to return?
No one can imagine when visiting the Philippines the possibility of ending up in such a hell hole is very possible. It only takes being singled out by an immigration officer with a grudge against foreigners to detain you, withhold your passport, and off you go. Didn't realize how much power those corrupt officials have.
As you watch this videos that is why those of us who live our lives outside the country of our birth say over and over that one has to have someone in another country who is going to be there for you no matter what. Racing off to the Philippines trying to be with more than one romantic partner means one will have no support when more than one woman shows up to aid you in you time of need. That is why the Philippines is the land of one and done. "You damn well had better be bullet proof if you act otherwise". Mark Thornton
There needs to be accountability for the perpetrator, this has gone to far, it cost your freedom temporarily and ability to continue to enjoy your life. A slander lawsuit against him to escort him out from the Philippines. File it in your state and move to Judgement. He could be liable for conspiracy in the Philippines also. A criminal act and civil act. I studied law in college but not an attorney.
Maybe I could be over judging. But if there are 4 guards, can't they clean too? Because those stacks of records could be moved to that empty room next to yours and that would free up the lobby and it could be mopped and cleaned up to make a nice common living room /seating area?
What a horrible story. When you were first detained, did you have an option of being deported? When the odds are stacked against you, sometimes it's best to fold... try again later.
@@mrrobert177You don’t understand that most of us have loving families who don’t think twice about helping family members. I feel sorry for you having lived a loveless life. Sad but most likely well deserved.
Paul: I have watched each and every single one of your videos, and have made a few comments along the way. I have no idea if you remember me or not. I would like to make a suggestion to you going forward. I am sure that many people are interested as to why you were deported, if there were no actual charges brought against you. Could you please talk about that issue?
You are a good hearted person, I've seen your videos the past few years. It's jealousy from people that got you falsely imprisoned. People go to the Philippines to enjoy not to be playing games. Hope you find happiness.
Actually just needs a good cleaning and some repairs. What’s sad is this place is actually nicer than the severe poverty and slums many Filipinos live in.
Paul, it doesn't look horrible to the untrained eye. If you have been in the Philippines, you can clearly decipher the rats, mosquitos, the heat, the lack of water and the poor quality of food.
Hey Paul, I hope a very bright light shines on the BI as a cosequence of these videos. Marcos needs to take nitice and do something. Glad you made it out and you are safe.

Wow and philipine congressman and senetors make 180k a year the same as in the u.s. maybe they should take 3/4 of their salaries so they can build new detentions
That place didn’t look secure at all. I think I would’ve just walked off while no one was looking. Clearly you had money I would have bought my meds tried to bribe myself onto a boat somehow and left the Philippines
Dude I was thinking the same thing I have watches for this scenario to bribe my way out on a boat or detention center.. just get by the ocean and pay someone with a rolex or cartier believe me they will take it and let you on.

False report and lies meant you were incarcerated at no fault of your own. Would be good to know more about the person who did this and I hope charges are pressed against him by you and the Philippines authorities.
There was no false report. World Zoom did a vid where he messed up his online immigration stuff and a few days later the BI detained him and said it was as a result of that, that he was caught. The whole 'rat' thing is in WZ imagination, to save the embarrassment of the truth.
I agree. It certainly doesn’t look high security. No armed guards in sight. No quadruple-locked triple walls with steel bars. Looks like they didn’t keep you chained and shackled. Why did they keep you there for 4 months. Looks like they aren’t detaining anyone else, only you. Doesn’t make sense. Seems very strange.
Looks like you've aged 10 years. At least you could see outside and see normal life outside of the jail there. I don't care what Mark Thornton says, you are the Philippines favorite felon! Hope you can avoid another stay in the pen for a while.

Looks exactly like I expected. It is a third world country. The Philippines can't even keep up with maintenance of their govt buildings in Manila, let alone some detention facility.
Even though, according to the U.S. government, you are free to travel (the U.S. government obviously didn’t take your passport) it would have been good for you to get an official U.S. police/federal clearance because of your previous history. Along with the checks that the Philippines B.I. does when you want to extend your visa, this might have helped you to avoid the trouble that you got into there.
Man...that's pretty bad. When I was a kid, there were many derelict and condemned buildings where I grew up and I'd go inside to see the same filthy mess as is seen here in your video. It must be so good to be home, Paul. Perhaps it's a naive question, but will you return to the Philippines?
@@PaulWorldZoom Yeah. The whole land purchase thing is wearing on me. Marie will be in Canada soon and 3 years until she gets her citizenship. Time to reconsider things. Maybe South America. Closer and same time zone.
I don't want to be there but to be fair, except the lack of running water and toilet, for being the "poor" country, it does not seem to bad. I was expecting a really bad situation like in TV with 50 shirtless people in 10x10 cell..
Yeah thats pretty bad. But many locals live about like that so cant expect much for detainment center I guess.
