Yeah I do playback with the Kronos. You just load the sample into the Kronos and assign it to play when you press what ever key you want.

Jump was actually one of the synth engines in the Kronos, it wasn’t sample based.

It was not from Korg. It was sampled from my Roland JV-1080 with the Orchestral Expansion card.

It looks like he put it together himself. I doubt the desk originally had a keyboard tray for instance.

It’s actually not custom made. It’s by Buso Audio. I think it was called the Producer Desk if I remember correctly.

We can find some sond banks about it. In that case, it concerns another one of the 9 Kronos engines : HD-1 engine.

Trinity has digital output (16 bit at 48 kHz sampling rate).Wish M1 and o1/w had that option

I do still have and use it but I have gotten more and more into virtual instrument plugins these days to be honest. I still use my Kronos quite a bit though

Yeah, I have had the Kronos since 2012 and they added SGX-2 for example years later. That was not a sound engine they had before.

@@alexnasla Nice! I guess he must have created it using the Triton or M3 back in the day, right? I would guess the Kronos has the capability of those engines too. I need a cover of Lines in the Sand from you XD.

@@rodrigozamo it’s actually a preset that was created for Derek and included as a preset on the Korg Trinity. So I just basically tried copying that as much as possible.

@@alexnasla All good mate, thanks for the input. I’m setup with my Kronos controlling Logic on an expensive MacBook. Sometimes it’s hard to decide on going with a plug in vs the Korg internal sounds, but for the most part I’d say the Korg samples hold up pretty damn well with the plug-ins. But there are exceptions. If I need a big string section I’m obviously going with something like a Spitfire Audio string suite.

@@alexnasla I do have another question for you though. As the Kronos is a sampler, I oughta be able to reverse any sample in the system, yes? Is it relatively easy & straight forward?

@@alexnasla Nice! Wouldn’t mind seeing a video on that, but I gather that’s a pretty specific application to do a video on. Probably wouldn’t generate much in the way of views.

The newest model is the one you see me with in this video. I think officially it still goes by the name Kronos but Korg and most people still refer to it as Kronos2. Kronos originally came out in 2011. But all the software updates they have done for the keyboard makes it a pretty different keyboard than at lunch. We reviewed the Montage and its a great keyboard but if you are thinking between the Kronos and the Montage you should go Kronos without a doubt. Its better in pretty much ever way possible. You can even recreate the Montages "Super Knob" on the Kronos using an expression pedal if you like! Hope that helps!

Alex Nasla then you haven’t reviewed it enough. The Montage could go as deep as the Kronos

@@tuneunleashed I actually just found out about a week ago that it could go deeper (in someways even deeper) than the Kronos! First time I sat with the Montage I didn't see it at all, and to be fair, now that I know about it, its not particularly obvious how to access it, but its there, and its great! I think I might do a video on it.

I have had and toured with a Korg Kronos since 2012 and never have to services it, so fortunately I haven’t had to find out how they are yet

Charles Ferraro I have. Focusrite 6i6 with spdif in/out but these are 1/4 inch jacks. Is there an adapter that converts spdif optical as the Kronos has to 1\4?
