@MossyWater Especially immediately after they molt. You have to give the crayfish plenty of hiding places. On the other hand, the crayfish sometimes grab small fishes and eat them. So goes the law of the streams and rivers.

Yes they do, but the best way to witness it is if you keep only 1. When you have multiple they are too distracted with fighting each other...when I just had my 1 pumpkin seed he followed me back and for like a dog, even let me pet him

Another very cool video brother, 👍👏👏 Love your channel period. I get alot of motivation from your videos. Hoping to begin my own channel soon maybe in the next 6 months or so or depending on how long it takes me to get setup with a 125-250 gallon aquarium and especially the first fish for my channel which most likely will be a MBU puffer. Planning on doing weekly updates on raising one from very young to full grown. Again very cool video sir, looking forward to the next one! 😁

If you still have this tank setup, look into getting some StoneCats/Madtoms. I find them under rocks in local streams for my native tanks. Many of them don't get much bigger than 4 or 5 inches. Watchout when handling them though, they can sting like a hornet.

Native fish, in the area in which your are living, are as beautiful and interesting as any fish from abroad. Water parameters are much easier to keep. But also remember that just cause they also live in your neighborhood absolutely does not mean that they don't also require the room they may also require. Native wild- life will be protected; so just keep that in mind; at the worst, it'll be a simple inexpensive license that are easy to purchase where you live. But more than likely, it's just gonna be collecting them; that's as much fun as keeping them. And just like purchasing 'foreign' fish, minimizing any trauma or stress will save you both a lot of grief, a Lot of grief. Just cause the water will be much easier to maintain, remember it absolutely does not mean that the animals need any less attention to care, absolutely not; the care is 'easier', but 'it's' NOT absent. Just check-out the animal and it's needs the same way you do for anything else, and you'll be just fine. Native animals are generally not just easier to keep, they're every bit as awesome and as beautiful as any fish I have ever kept. I live in the States. I moved from one where you could lay outside nude day or night, any time of year 🙂. I didn't really appreciate it until I 'relocated' to another one. Holy-shit. I currently do not have heating or cooling in place. UMMM, yeah, it's crazy. Haven't been here that long so I'm not sure about the entire year. But a Big portion of it is triple-digits one day after the next; and I don't mean 101° either, 🥵. And a Big portion of the same year is wind and rain and snow at 20°, 🥶. It's nuts. I'll never take a damn thing for granted anymore that's for sure. Here, where I am currently, humidity notwithstanding, during the winter, water of 70° is like a sauna, and during the summer months, a day in the 90's is a cold spell. Give me the equator anyday. So especially for someone like me, and right now, you really don't have much choice in keeping a pet. I suppose if I were in the same type position in say, Barrow Alaska and insisted on Discus fish, or an ice-fish from the Arctic living in the Sonoran desert, I myself would be in some big-ass trouble. Sure, it can be done; but make life far easier on both you and your charge unless you dig masochism. Treat your pet's like you would your kid's you-guys. The world always turns, but the road over which it rolls is straight-ass up to you.
