Hey, this is Darius, and this channel is just to share the life of me and my fish! Thanks to all subscribers, supporters, and everyone in the community!
My 7 year old got me rewinding your intro song over 5 times doing this interpretive dance type 😂😂😂 when they switch into the robot/mannequin issue 😂?? Got me in tears bro 🎉 appreciate you
why not just use a completely black backing for the top of the tank so, all it see is a dark sky, all the time. until a gecko/lizard decide to be the big target on top. ***so put a brick or a lead weight.
One day we are gonna need to raise the rarest arrowana in the world to save the president, the secret service is gonna show up at his house and hes gonna be like "I cant!! YOU dont understand..not again" "We need you Darius Fishtanks!!!"
If you didn't mention the substrate, I wouldn't have even noticed. The fish are so beautiful, and they are the largest focal point in the aquarium. That's my dream Tank size the 300 to 350 gallon aquarium. Would you recommend acrylic over glass for a tank that size? All your tanks are beautiful!
Hello. Full aquatic crab for aquarium is siamthelphusa sp. Or siamthelphusa acutidens called mekhong crab. Im from Poland and here is very popular species.
Love the aquarium! A question, would it be cheaper to buy 2 or 3 glass panels instead of one? Sure, the window look might not be first choice, but if it's cheaper and reduce blind spots at the edges and bottom it would be worth it.
Thanks, It depends on where you get your glass from. The main driver of the cost is the thickness, so the smaller windows would still be very expensive and I think it would add up to more $
A sump is more customizable and easier to clean, however a canister filter is easier to setup and can be quieter, for that size tank I would go with a canister filter that's rated for a tank maybe twice the size
Super helpful video thanks! 2 quick questions, what if you used an oven at a lower temp like 212 degrees? Also, i used dish soap on my driftwood and rocks, do you think any amount of water will get it off or should i just find new driftwood and rocks? Thanks!
When adding a new fish to a tank of fish that have been tougher for a while iv found out its best to add 2 at a time so the other fish won't gang up on one...
Although I’ve not done this yet I will be 100% using an acrylic tank on my dream build. Why? Peace of mind, it won’t fail and when it’s holding 1500 litres I’d prefer to sleep safe… During research I’ve also seen numerous videos of ppl buffing out scratches in stocked tanks with no ill effects using might magnets and finer and finer sand paper. I’ll test this before I buy myself but, given it’s likely true I don’t see why anyone would go glass for larger systems.
Question: I have been using old school Hagen power glo T8 bulbs since the 80s and now I can't get them anymore. I was looking at two of these lights for my Aqueon 150g tank (72x18x30 tall). No plants as its my Giant Gourami tank. Will this light be too bright? the images I've seen on it look great. Thanks
This light wasn't too bright compared to other led lights; however these companies are always renewing their products so I can speak on what's being sold now. I would aim for a dimmable light, nicrew has some and I'm sure Aquaneat does too and the customization is incredible
Spider plants also do well in aquariums if you keep the base of the plant above the water line! For small plants I like pearlweed and redroot floaters growing on my matten filter sponges.
i love american cichlids. everyone seems to be obsessed with crappy african cichlids. americans are so much more interesting to look at & their personalities are awesome.
I appreciate your content, G. I've been away from the hobby for way too long! I'm going new world instead of African for my cichlid tanks this time around, it's been about 15 years since I've had a tank and I'm excited to introduce my two daughters to the fish keeping lifestyle 😂🎉 seriously though, a lot of hobbiests have neurodivergencies like ADHD or are even on the autism spectrum, and we can really get into it! Whole house be overrun with tanks 😂🎉
I'm having a 660-gallon plywood tank built in October and I'm weighing up 2x4s vs all 2x6s. Did the plywood tank use marine or regular 18mm plywood, and did you just use 2x4's? Is all of the wood used pressure treated? Your tank is a good reference for me but a shame I cannot get pond shield in the UK. Peacock bass smaller species are on my shopping list. Congrats on the beautiful fish.
Thank you, I used pressure treated regular 18mm plywood, with all pressure treated 2x4's. I know that you can fiber glass for the entire tank and waterproof it that way, but I imagine that would be a lot more work. They don't sell any other types of liquid rubber over there?
