You should try some BG merc!!! I think some Tshirts would go over well. Worth a try right?🤔 mabie coffee mugs?? 🤔 bumper stickers? 🤔 I don't know 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I'm sure whatever you do next will be great.👍👍👍👍
I have multiple contracts with a small junior college offering several different types of teaching services. I also work for two different ESL companies. I've had rental property which I let go of in a recent divorce, so acquiring another is on the agenda for the near future (within the year). (I hit that one out of the park. That rental income paid for itself and my mortgage!) I'm changing my approach with one of the ESL companies and am creating RU-vid content as well as merchandise to develop this "new" business aspect. Education features heavily in my current choices, so it's hard to say what is a favorite. I would eventually like to shift to more content creation overall - developing my own courses and videos. I also occasionally publish sheet music for music I arrange for piano accordion, which as you might guess, brings in very little. ... Some irons in the fire. Some about to go in. Some are still a dream. ... I agree. More than one income stream is a necessity.
I haven’t even counted yet. I should though. Because some of them aren’t regularly paying and are usually less than $10 I haven’t been tracking them. I need to start and boost my time in those areas in order to grow those streams. I have a RU-vid channel but, I don’t make money off of it
Yes thanks so much! New subscriber! Also I like that you love your day job! You are a great role model :) I will check to see if you have videos on how you organize your time with your projects! 💕
Girl our generation tried that. Many of us got laid off from jobs you would never get laid off from. We were told that our job ends at age 65 when we retiire. I assure you that no longer works. Frugality, minimalism, being nomads, getting on the computer and having an open mind to new ideas has helped a lot. But if I didn't listen life would have been a lot less enjoyable. Several forms of income is absolutely necessary.
We have a home business selling 3D printed cookie cutters on Etsy. We've been growing that business for 5 years and it now make almost double what my husband makes in his regular full time job as a college professor. We currently run the business out of our house and we hope to buy a building soon that will let us expand our business into other areas and hire some more employees! We also have one rental house. My daughter lives in it as a senior in college, and she has two roommates who cover the mortgage. Eventually that will become housing for my son who is a freshman in college and my younger daughter who is in highschool.
Edie tenBroek you guys should expand into 3D bath bomb molds! Those are really in right now, especially the Halloween and Christmas character ones! I wish I had a 3D printer so I could do it, people are making a killing! 😂
Hi Edie, I'm doing a new series on "weird" or interesting side hustles or businesses and i'd love to feature your 3d printer business! Will you please email me at gobudgetgirl@gmail.com? thanks!
You are so smart. I desperately want to get out of the 9-5 so I can fully live my life. I give sooooo much time and energy to my job & dont even make $15 an hour when I know my worth & should own my own company. But I lack the knowledge, school, & money to get there... so I spend most of my free time doing research so I can figure out how to become an entrepreneur & get freedom.
Keep in mind that, like most small businesses, you are not likely to get rich from running a vending machine business. But being your own boss and calling the shots are rewarding in themselves. And if you get enough locations going, vending machines can generate a steady income for you.
I have a full-time job that's salary is the same as your full-time job. A part time job at a fine dining restaurant. Coaching business. Growing my RU-vid channel and just launched a podcast. So building both of those to montize. I want to purchase a rental property in 2022.
@@heatherbeck1 honestly I only work my fine dining job on Saturday nights. I'm able to make an extra $750 to $1000 a month from working that one night a week. I also don't have a lot of free time 🤣.
I love how you American people earn more than enough compared to us English people, but you're not satisfied with "Getting By" like we are.. you still keep being motivated to do your best, and move yourselves to reach higher!!! Let's thank the internet for bringing us people like you, and let's all of us who are watching this video just at least give Sarah a thumbs up for the help!! Thanks Budget Girl xxx
Hey, I've never seen any of your videos before and I'm only 4 minutes into this one, and I just HAD to drop down in the comments and say, thank you!!! I LOVE your authenticity and honesty, and I can't wait to check out your channel!
I’m retired, but have 4 “side hustles” - I write resumes/cover letters/cold call letters and interview coach; I am a dressmaker; I write grant proposals; and I am about to open an Etsy shop. I do sell on Poshmark and Marketplace for others, but quite frankly it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Great video Sarah ❤️🇨🇦
RU-vid actually recommended this video to me. Great content!! Love that you actually gave dollar amounts. And that it takes awhile to build up a viewers and what your doing to make money. Keep the videos coming.
It doesn't matter where you are now on this plant, if you read this, I wish you a wonderful and happy life where all dreams and aspirations come through! Wishing you this from America. ❤️😊
Love how simple and straightforward you are, I watch a ton of financial videos and watching you is refreshing.Im tired of watching videos titled "my 10k month side hustles" just to say in the end they get $9500 from you tube. Again great video.
I like listening to you. I’ve tried listening to other people talk about budgeting and financing and I feel judged. Lbvs You’re very transparent and helping in the non judging way. Thank you. 💙
Budget girrrrrrrl!!!!! You have a heart of gold. You're amazing and deserve every thing that you're harvesting. Keep being as humble as you are. You're a beacon of light for not just young people, but all of us. Thank you for everything. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Just subscribed and I want to tell you why. Your genuineness came through as well as your kindness and thoughtfulness for others. Hardworking....didn't give any unrealistic expectations like money was gonna rain down just because we set up a shop. No gimmicks. You get what you give and you can only be so many places at once. I'm happy that you have a real job you love and that every thing else is considered a blessing that you have worked hard for as well...people who have found their purpose and stay grounded and then help others along the way by sharing what they've learned...those are people I want in my life 😊
I very much enjoy your videos. I became aware of you through the financial diet and it was quite enthralled by your parents there. I just subscribed during this video. I enjoy your content keep doing what you’re doing!
Great job! I love seeing people speak about multiple streams of income. There are so many ways to make money nowadays. But no one teaches us how to do this. Sharing your experience shows people how diverse it could be to make multiple incomes. It's scary to depend on just one income.
I have three streams of income. 1. My professional job; 2. I own one rental property; 3. I perform website review work; 4. And this is not really an income stream, but it is a savings, I use rebate apps to link to my grocery shopping that give me actual cash back to PayPal which is helpful to reduce my household costs
Budget Girl I use Ibotta the most as grocery rebate app, have received back $725 this year to date, not all of that is frugal spending - some spending is to support others in these very difficult times, as I am blessed beyond measure and wish to give out from the abundance of my life.
Keep in mind that, like most small businesses, you are not likely to get rich from running a vending machine business. But being your own boss and calling the shots are rewarding in themselves. And if you get enough locations going, vending machines can generate a steady income for you.
Thanks for posting this video. My husband and I recently realized that we need to make multiple streams of income. We just went through a very difficult experience of losing a house, living in someone else's home and finally getting a new place of our own. This was in about a 5 year time frame. Because of what we went through, we are determined to do whatever it takes to not go through that again. My husband likes his job but is making the max amount without going into management. I don't feel comfortable working a traditional job because of my anxiety and panic disorder. We are in the process of starting a few ideas and seeing what happens.
See if you can get some help with your anxiety and panic disorder. If you could manage it, getting even a part time job would help. Living and getting ahead on one income is tough thesedays
You are so inspiring! I have 5 (ish) income streams! I work full-time doing what I love as a Motion Graphics Designer. My second highest income stream is working in the freelance industry as a designer. I also work for a chain, art party studio. I then work my side hustle as an artist doing custom commissions for people in my local community. And my last (and least consistent) is dog, house sitting. My goal is to get out of debt and your journey helps to keep me going on the hardest days.
Thank you so much. Just sent this video to my four kids and hubby in our WhatsApp family group. Here's what I wrote: Watch this. Everyone should have their own small business in addition to work. In fact, having several streams of income is so important to growing wealth and reducing stress. I love you guys. Watch this video, she is smart and practical. And fun! Generational wealth while simultaneously breaking generational curses. I am down for that !
This is the realest video I've ever seen for someone on youtube explaining money and streams of income. I'm trying my best to get to that point. I have a full time job but trying to find more ways to earn income. My wife is very creative so we've been thinking of getting her an etsy shop (or something similar). I'm a tech guy so I've been thinking of starting a RU-vid channel with a co worker and talk all things tech (even though i think its pretty saturated at the moment). Trying to find a niche. Thanks for the video. you have a new subscriber.
Just out of curiosity- what would you name your channel? Also...All things tech- so would those include the types/options, pros and cons, methods for repair, product reviews? :) Maybe that will help you narrow it down. Some channels to derive inspiration from (for ideas on how to structure videos): Freakin' Reviews, Hand Tool Rescue, The King of Random, Clutterbug. If you MAKE something tech-y (cute little robots or such), that would be a lot of fun to watch. I wish you the best!
@@ywLDSforever Wanted to name it Tech Talk but I see a lot of people use that name. I wanted to do a lot on cloud technologies and automation. I would like to do reviews and robots and stuff but with a full time job currently i'm not sure if i will have the time.
My suggestion is to write as detailed of notes as you can when the inspiration hits, as well as doing the actual videotaping. You can always edit and upload the videos later, but believe me when I say it's a lot easier to get going on a project when you know where to start. You could call your channel "Bot Talk and Things", that way there's a hint of what content you'll offer but also some wiggle room if you want to add other elements.
You popped up on my suggested videos and I’m so impressed with the content. You are so young and you really got it going on. I love your abundance mentality and your super planning and goal achievement skills.
You are RIDICULOUSLY informative and loooove it!💜 Nobody else tells us their actual income and I really appreciate you being so straightforward with us 🤗 just had to subscribe cause you seem so sweet and genuine. Thank you for your content..gonna go binge the rest of your videos now🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏽♀️
You might want to consider doing live workshops. Your first 80% of seats could be one fee. The next 10% are about 50% more, and the last 10% are double the price of the original. Play with percentage points and base fees and overall numbers of seats. If you have raving fans, you can make that work.
Thank you for sharing! I love when people can talk about budgeting and money so openly and share what's worked for them. It shouldn't be some taboo thing that is awkward to talk about. I totally agree that having multiple streams of income is a great idea.
dang you're amazing! I love how transparent you are. Thanks for your honesty. Money is overwhelming for me but you have some great ideas. Thank you for sharing!
Next video, maybe you could fill us in on how on earth you manage to find time to nurture your romance. Between the full time job, the very needy new house, and everything else you are doing, "Budget Girl-ing" time for relationship building must be something of a challenge.
I fully agree! I would love to hear about that. I definitely think multiple income streams are a very good idea, but I am also a bit wary of monetizing hobbies if/when it results in like no actual personal time.
Side answer, my husband and I both love frugal hobbies that we do together to build our future together :) we also make sure we schedule in time together like we would a dentist appointment.
what I think is the most brilliant of all your financial choices is that you moved from a low paying reporter job to a communications coordinator. the pivot you made from something that wasn't working for you to something new and an unusual job for someone with your work history would consider, that takes real out of the box thinking. great job.
If there is one thing I have learned from these types of videos/topics is that perseverance is key. Just keep going, keep learning, keep moving and everything will turn out just right
You video is very inspiring 👏. I currently have 4 streams of income ( investing, rental, employment and side hustle) and my goal was 5. Thank you for the great ideas to keep growing.
you know, every time I feel I’m slipping from keeping to my budget I watch your scorched earth months and I love it, every time. Thank you so much for keeping them up and continuing to inspire me!
Love all your streams of income! I have several as well, Health Coaching, Herbal Medicine Making, Jewelry Design/Making, Jewelry Repair and Vintage Clothing/Accessories Resale. My fav is...that's a tough one...can't choose, love them all!!!
I really like this girl. First time listening to some of her vids. She has a different slant than others. Thanksfully, she does not bore me. Good for her that she got into real estate. That is what has helped me through the years. It it something that improves with age.
Much convenience in vending massage chair compared to others. Why? I don’t need to refill anything regularly, I don’t need to spend on supplies and less expensive, easiest to manage and a great source of passive income. A good investment which can give you a good income at a very minimal cost.
Thanks for being so open and honest in your journey. It is so exciting to see how far you have come! Super inspiring!!! You are doing an AMAZING job! ..... and it is also nice seeing someone who loves their day-job and don't want to stop it. (i'm lucky enough to be one of those people also)
Wow you are goals !!! When you said you really love your life, I felt that! I just got back into selling on Mercari and poshmark. So fun when u get the message that someone purchased something, but rental properties is the next move. Thank you for this video 💜
I can tell getting into real estate has been an emotional journey and accomplishment, good for you!! This is my first vid I saw from your channel and this is exactly what I was looking for
Great video! Thanks for sharing! I’m a self-employed English teacher, freelance writer, content creator, and translator (Portuguese-English). I work online a lot and I’ve been moving my work as much to the digital space as I can and I want to learn more skills to be able to offer other services, such as as a virtual assistant, freelance content creator + editor, translator, transcriptor, etc. I’ve been on this path for a while, building more streams of income but I’m kind of going too slow 😅 I want to create a series of eBooks that will be my first few digital products (I hope to launch the first one in a few weeks) and so create another one!
I love this! I have a full time job as well, we have a rental property, an e-commerce business, stocks, and recently started youtube. I feel at peace knowing I dont depend on one stream of income
This is one of most genuine, inspiring and motivating account of someone making passive income. I personally will check out your website and shops. Keep up the good work Thanx 👏🏽
You've inspired me to sell my own digital content. I've been thinking for a while of what I could do and I finally came up with something I think is a winner.Thank you!
I so appreciate your videos. You are inspiring because you are doing what so many people think can only be done by others who are already gifted in someway, such as through existing wealth or knowledge. You demonstrate that through consistency and determination, someone can achieve that knowledge and create their own wealth. I have done this myself. I know what it takes, and I still watch you for inspiration. Thanks, Budget Girl!
Right now I have only social security, alimony, and I also do animal communications. But I'm looking to reopen one of my Etsy shops and am exploring a writing job that has potential to become passive income. Thank you for the great video - very inspiring!
Praise God! Great video! I am trying to give up my full time job. I used to work for the State of Texas but getting paid once a month was very difficult.
Generating multiple streams of income is important to your ability to build wealth, and have a safety net so you're not entirely reliant on one avenue for revenue. Great video, and good for you for taking the initiative and putting in the hard work!
I have a full time Monday to Friday job and a part time job on Saturdays. I am in the planning stages of starting a business. Like you said I am prepared to be patient and not give up.
Thanks for sharing Sarah. 👍 I like that you consider the return on your time investment with these. Your plant pots could be your 8th! 🌱😊 You're being of service for sure.
Yes! We own two small businesses, looking at getting into blogging and RU-vid once we hit the road (rv full time while work part time) and wanting to write a book. Looked at rental property but worried about mngrment cost since will be away. Husband's military retirement will be a chunk each month too. Which with Covid our two small business and his retirement was a blessing since had to leave his full time job to Covid and his risk. We also are in Texas and just VERY affordable here. Got a new Sub from me! Great advice.
Livin my dream 😁 ... My husband would love to as well but we unfortunately have 4 dogs with different special needs. And 4 dogs in an RV sounds horrible. Have fun traveling for me please! 😅
We had three dogs and one cat. People do it in RV all the time. Slide outs are our friends. 🤣🙌 But I get it with special needs. Just don't think it isn't doable. I have debated posting our travels. I will have a smore in your name. 🤪
I think you are amazing! I wish I knew all of this 30 years ago. Now It's too late I am 57. But I think you are awesome! You probably have read the book "The millionaire next door" You are definitely on your way to that! Congratulations
WOW! You're so encouraging and I know you must be proud of all your accomplishments here! God has blessed you immensely! I hope you'll keep posting your advice and wisdom on all that you've done and continue to do...thanks so much for sharing your strategies with us!!
Love your honesty. So refreshing, especially among all the Make Money hype on RU-vid. Also, happy to see a young woman taking charge of her finances and taking it seriously. You're a great role model.
Investing now should be at the top list of every wise one, there's no better to prepare for the future than investing,in few months to come you'll be happy with the decision you made today
SUCH A GREAT VIDEO! This is the Budget Girl video that I like and miss seeing: focused on Sarah, focused on Sarah's money journey, extremely informative about how we can be like budget girl and succeed financially. True example of Girl Power. Well done Budget Girl. Keep this up. I went to your website and clicked the ads to boost your income :) And to answer your question, from Canada, my streams of income include my tiny town house (no mortgage), my Canada Pension Plan that I plan to take early at 60 (like Social Security), my Old Age Security that kicks in at 65, my government defined benefit pension since I am a government worker (this type of pension will disappear for new workers in 2022), my investments that started at age 15 with my first summer job in a food factory doing shift work, my savings (high interest savings account in Tangerine Bank currently at 2.3% (like your Voya Bank), my Registered Retirement Savings Plan (like your IRA), my Tax Free Savings Account (like your ROTH) and two stocks that were bought at former employers, with contribution of stock from the employer. Future income from selling items around the home on local FaceBook Marketplace sites for my entertainment fund (theatre, movies, outings with friends). Thanks again for this video, eh. G'day.
Every financial youtuber says have multiple streams of income in case one dries up.you have others. Also, learn as many skills as possible to make yourself more employable
Impressive list of income streams. I’d love to get involved with real estate. I’ve got a full time job at a school, summer sales job for a private chef company and I run the religious education program at my church. Married with 3 kids and a dog...so my plate is full! Thanks for your great content. New subscriber.
Wow. New subbie. You are amazing. So auriculate and thoughtful. Ty. Great advice. Love that u love ur life. ❤️ Real estate is everything in wealth building. You are killing it.
I consider my overtime hours and bonuses additional streams of income since they go directly to my savings to build my 6 month emergency fund and new (to me) car fund. I also have a plant nursery in my backyard and a third job as a photo booth/DJ assistant for a friend's company.
I just discovered you and love your honest and kind vibe! Great video. I'm in my second year of building my RU-vid channel and blog, so it's good to hear from someone who's been at it a while to be patient and persistent. Thanks!!
