It's so important to setup custom functions on Sony cameras! Luckily they have an abundance of customization options that really lets you setup your camera for the job at hand. This video is all about how I set up my A7iii and A7Riii to shoot wedding photo, video, or both at the same time!

Just in time :) I am a photo guy, but first video wedding for me is tomorrow, on the a7R3 :)). MC11 with 24 1.4 sigma, 50 1.8 stm, 70-200 f4 no is canon & native 35 1.4 samyang and 85 1.8 batis. 2 batteries and crane 2.

Hey great video. I noticed you shoot a custom HLG3 profile for your wedding videos. How does it hold up in low light? Do you use HLG3 in lower light? I heard HLG2 is better for that? Any tips would be appreciated as I would love to match day and night as much as possible. Cheers

so with HLG u don't have no problems with low light? that's my only fear about using hlg is during the reception whenever there is low light.

after using your PP2 settings, the video shot looks almost overexposed on my computer after transferring but looks fine on my sony lcd. also, there were no zebras while shooting and levels looks kind of fine. am i doing something wrong ?

Hi .. doesnt the picture profile stay as hlg once u switch from video to photo? Like movie or 1 or 2 then switch to M .. it stays as same pp as what was set before. Right?

Hey man great stuff, "recall custom hold 2" I cant put my camera on the A mode any reason why??

Jason Jaso thanks! Stuff where you have to react to a changing scenario, say when you are shooting a silhouette but something happens behind you and you have to capture it. Or if you are using flash and under exposing the background.

Yes ever since we got the a6400 all our footage is in HLG now

what is the normal manual white balance for indoors wedding? like if i'm filming a church

AllPink hard to give an exact kelvin value but around 2800-3500k would be my estimate

@@LexandJosh even not 6500K? I have researched that it would be way higher than that. The church will have windows. But i just don't want to use AWB

AllPink most likely the church lights will be around 6500k which means your camera should be set to 3500k to compensate. If you are mixing daylight maybe set to 4000-4500k? Depending on how much daylight is there

@@LexandJosh, I need some advise please have a quince tomorrow and I don't think I'm ready lol what lens do you recommend for shooting group pictures? I have a Tamron 28-75, Sony 55mm 1.8 Zeiss lens. And the 24mm 1.4 G Master lens. I have nice gear but not that experienced =( Please help, thank you.

Jose Pedraza I guess depends on your lighting conditions. If you have enough light you can use the 28-75mm and stop down a bit so you have enough in focus. If you need to do group photos in dark environments then the 24mm gm would be great. Even the 55mm would look good for smaller groups in darker environments
