I started on 20mg, then 40mg, then 60mg and I'm now on 80 mg. This is my third month cos I started in September. The only side effects I have are headaches 😩, dry lips, backache and drowsiness. My skin purged in the first week but that is normal. Fast forward now in my third month, my right cheek is smooth like a baby's bottom and I look human now. This is my second treatment cos I had taken it in 2019- 2020 and my skin was silky smooth. The acne started again in 2022 Sept but now I'm on Month 3 on 80 mg. This treatment is a lifesaver if you can handle the side effects.
@@kristinabosse4328 i don't get headaches all the time. Plus it depends on your dosage. I'm on 80mg atm and in my 6th month and final month and already have that smooth, glossy, baby skin. Lately it's just painful backache and joint pains but I take painkillers for that. What dosage are you on? Remember, you must take Accutane after a meal or with a meal for it to work properly. Otherwise you could get nausea or headaches amongst other side effects. Accutane is a gamechanger❤
@@justicepower1255 I’m on 20 mg and really freaking out because I have this tension headache. I’m gonna call my derm on Monday because I think it’s so early to get headaches and they don’t subside they are lasting all day:(
You’re so brave for sharing your pictures and telling your story! I’m currently on accutane as well and feel like I don’t see any changes so I’ve been pretty down. My acne is pretty severe too, so seeing you get better skin makes me hopeful that mine will get there some day. Thank you for sharing your story 💕
This is tremendous. Thank you for your time. Regarding your gut, are you still experiencing trouble with your digestion or diet or bowels? My daughter started taking it last week and I want to be prepared for everything. Thanks
You had cystic acne, I was used as a guinea pig back in the late 70's early 80s. Everything got worst before it got better, I heard of people having their palms of hands and feet peeling off, I never had that happen to me, But wOw, my lips and face were just so dry as F*&K and it hurt, I had to get my blood taken 2 times a week I was on it for 9 months and I trapped myself in the house and never left. My mom would buy me coloring books and other art projects to do, to pass the time away. I never had to get pregnancy tests, But my blood was taken for other things I'm sure like liver and kidneys, After taking that Accutane I never had a bad bout with acne EVER again, Thank god for that one little pill filled with vitamin A and I never suffered from any other symptoms, No, suicides, crones, constipation, diarrhea. But I do remember my nose being so dry, that at times it would be hard to blow, that blood came out. I guess I got lucky. From the U.S.A.
Loved this! So helpful. Im due to start accutane in November and I'm still so on the fence! The not drinking and having to go back on the pill are the main factors. Would you say its worth it? Also a random question but does it affect hair growth and can you fake tan? Thank you! 💜 xx
thank you 💛 for me personally, it was worth it for sure- but there were a lot of days where it didn’t feel like it but you may not even get any side effects, it all depends on the individual unfortunately !! my hair did thin but I think there might have been other factors contributing to that and in terms of the fake tan you 100% can but it doesn’t apply as well due to the dryness but my main piece of advice is just to moisturise as often as you can
@@millietavernor1310 Hi Millie, thanks for replying! That's really helpful, thank you so much 😊 i have til november to decide as there's a wait so I will do some more research and see how I feel then. Thank you again 💜
Hi ☺☺ I'm taking 20 mg dose for two months, I haven't had any result still, but Im hopefull . what did you do for your acne scars, there's no acne scars on your skin, it's like you didn't have any acne befor at all. Imean what is next step after accoutan to clean our skin from scars. its really bad i have lots of scars on my skin 😭
trust me I definitely still do have acne scars I think it’s just makeup and the lighting!! they have definitely faded over time and just doing basic skincare can help, don’t over complicate it :) x
Okay so I'm on accutane as well rn and it'll be month soon. My doctor prescribed me clindamycin solution together with accutane and clindamycin is doing wonders for scars. Especially for the new acne/pimple after starting the dosage. They fade away faster than the previous ones. Although it's different based on the size and also how long it's been around on skin and all, but it definitely is helping.
