Hey all,
All about my Accutane Journey, my before and after with accutane, side effects of accutane, and an update 8 years later! I'm so happy that I finally got around to filming this video! I've suffered with acne for the past 17 years of my life. I took accutane back in 2016 and wanted to share my story and share details on my acne journey, getting prescribed to accutane, and side effects. I hope some of you find this useful as I know how hopeless it feels to suffer with cystic/hormonal acne with absolutely nothing working.
I've included some before & after photos of my skin in this video so FULL DISCLOSURE for those of you that are sensitive to acne photos, I've added some warnings in the video so you can fast forward 😂.
Thank you guys so much for watching and I appreciate all of your support!
Don't forget to comment so we can chat!

I'm not gonna use this even if my dermatologist described it. Cuz first of all he didn't said even a word about it like how hard this medicine is , the side effects. And after learning the side effects i won't use it .

Hi I start accutane soon, we have a similar story and it’s been over a decade of me dealing with skin issues. Idk if you’d remember which brand name of accutane you took? And could you maybe go in depth of your skincare routine and I know you said you only had minor achy joint but do you still have any lasting side effects 8 years later ? Thank you beautiful:)

Hey! Unfortunately, I don't remember the brand of the Accutane I took :( But I do remember the pills were purple if that helps lol! While I was taking Accutane, I used only CeraVe products - the face wash, AM & PM lotions. I also used the Ultra Repair Cream religiously all over my face when my skin started to get super dry, it worked wonders for me! And of course, Aquaphor religiously on my lips to prevent the cracking on the sides of my lips as much as I could. And thankfully, I don't have any lasting side effects 8 years later! My joints do ache more than they used to - but not sure if that's just from getting older haha. Best of luck during your journey and please feel more than welcome to comment on here if you have any questions throughout the process! :)

@@alinanugent purple !? I’ve only ever seen them red lol and thank you sm, I do have another question tho idk if you can answer. One of my main concerns are the preservatives in the accutane supposedly can cause cancer or issues idk?
@alinanugent
@alinanugent 5 месяцев назад
@@michi2938 yeah haha the ones I took back in the day were purple! It could have changed though. And I haven’t done much research regarding the link to cancer after taking accutane but I’m sure this could be a possibility considering how strong this stuff is.

Accutane isn't worth it. 6mnths later, my acne came back. I ate healthy, never been a dairy and sugar person...get a derm that's ready to help not one that will just give you a short cut

Everyone has different bodies. My dermatologist had me try 6 months of topicals even though I told him that I had tried similar products for years now. We decided to try isotretinoin after that didn't work, and It's been gone for 5 years now with no noticeable side effects. I did have dry skin during it, though.

@Alegria.k
@Alegria.k 4 дня назад
@Kharaalllll Started out with 40mg, and I weighed 175 lbs. Then, after the first month, we did 80mg for 5 months and 40mg for the last month. The 40mg months were 2 20mg pills, and the 80mg months were 2 40mg pills.

Hi... I just wanted to ask if you use a maintenance treatment such as Tretinoin or something ?? after finishing accutane course??
@alinanugent
@alinanugent 5 месяцев назад
Hey! I’ve used numerous products throughout the years after finishing accutane. But what I’ve felt like helped the most to control my breakouts was Differin! So I’ve been using that a few times a week going on 2 years now. I’m contemplating on switching that up and using Tretinoin soon though!
