I started your video series, I'm 2 weeks post OP. When I tell everyone I tore my left Achilles on the ninja wall, it sounds like a really strange/unique way to tear it, until I found your video! Even the circumstances were the same: small wall a few times, then I went to the big wall, and the left side snapped. They need to put a warning label on those walls now!😂
O man! I am so sorry that you have joined the Achilles warrior club! I am wishing you all the best in your recovery and please know that I am here for you if you need it!
Hello future watchers! I highly recommend the I Walk hands free crutch that she showed a picture of! I amazoned it the day after my rupture and adapted to it quickly! It made everything soooo much easier! Crutches suck! I crawled up the stairs the first few weeks (but only cause I skipped the stairs portion of the I walk instructions so I didn’t know I could do it safely for a while.) it’s not for everyone (if you don’t have good balance normally) and maybe depending on where your pain is, but I definitely think it’s worth a try
I loved the iwalk too!!! It was so helpful especially while I was treating patients and using crutches or a scooter were not an option! Stairs were tricky for me at first too but once I figured it out I was good to go!
1wk post op here 🙋♂️ army vet and running, weightlifting, jiujitsu athlete i thought i had bulletproof legs until i ruptured my achilles the EXACT same way you did! 😂 i had already conquered the tall vert wall at a sky zone here in CA and just had to go for a 2nd time 😅 1st step on the wall and boom, it felt like i kicked one of the kids running around me 😭 love the videos! definitely helping me get over this speed bump ❤
O man!!! I am so sorry that you are going through this right now! Dang warped walls!!! Thank you for your support and I am glad that you are finding the videos helpful! You got this and I am here for you if you have any questions!!!
OMG, I did the exact same thing at Skyzone, we call it the ninja wall. Boxing Day 2018. Confirmed with Ultrasound 100% width & 90% thickness rupture. Went through all non surgical protocols. 4.5 yrs & 3 different surgeons later can’t calf raise, confirmed with MRI healed 1-1/4” long. Had shortening repair surgery 1 week ago. Dr’s dropped the ball, “just takes a long time to heal” even specialist at Cleveland clinic. Here I am 1 week post surgery & I have a lot of work to do to get back to being myself once again
O my goodness! That is crazy! I cannot believe they missed it for so long! I am happy to hear that you are on your road to recovery now! Let me know if you need anything as I am happy to help!
I am sorry to hear you have to go through this injury but I am glad that you found me and my videos! I hope that your recovery is going well and please know I am here for you! You got this!
Sorry to hear this! I tore mine playing basketball in 2018, that is when I first discovered your channel because I would research rehab videos on how to recover. I too had surgery and recovered nicely. I too work in Orthopedics so I was able to do therapy 3 times a week for 17 weeks straight. I wanted to recover fully so that I can play basketball again. Took about 10 months but I made it back to basketball. Still play 3 times a week now so I’m a testimony that you will bounce back just fine.
Thank you for watching! I had both a cast and a boot before being able to go to a shoe. It is just part of the process. It is better to be safe than risk having to have surgery again.
Hi there recently had surgery and accidentally drop a traveling bag on it I was 4 days in after that it’s been paining none stop also when I hang my foot down it hurts the most extremely painful I hope I didn’t injured anything 🙏🏾
Thanks for your Achilles recovery playlist. I’m 99% sure my Achilles Tendon was ruptured yesterday (Sunday), and I have an appointment with the Orthopedist this Thursday. What was your duration from rupturing to surgery? Just concerned surgery is not coming fast enough. How long can you wait for Achilles tendon surgery? Most surgeons prefer to repair the tendon (when surgery is required) within three weeks of the injury. This is because after that the “elastic” tendon ends have pulled apart and are harder to join. I found the above and what are your thoughts?
I am so sorry to hear that and I hope all is well! I ruptured my Achilles on a Sunday evening and had surgery that Wednesday. The sooner the better but it does not have to be as soon as I had mine. Please keep me updated!
@@ThePhysioFix Update: I had surgery 16 days after rupturing my Achilles Tendon. Now I’m 2 weeks post-surgery and healing up well. Still in a splint and have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. Hoping he puts me in a boot. It has been a real pain keeping weight off the injured leg. The scooter is a must for anyone with this injury.
The pressure is individualized depending on the person, there is no one size fits all for the occlusion. I would definitely seek outside help to determine your level or there are some amazing cuffs that can auto calibrate. I use the SAGA brand and I will include the link below. If you use the code "thephysiofix" you can save 10% :) ca.saga.fitness/?ref=thephysiofix
I am so sorry to hear that you have ruptured you Achilles too! I am glad that my video and recommendations are helping you! I wish you all the best in your recovery!
Also, please research Keith Baar and the work he did on tendons, collagen and vitamin c. I drink collagen and vitamin c 30 minutes before playing basketball or working out. Wish you nothing but the best. There will be some discouraging days during rehab but keep pushing through it one day at a time.
Thank you for your support and for reaching out to me to share your experience with me! It is encouraging to hear others who have gone through this journey and have made it back to the sport that they love! I will definitely look into Keith Baar and his research! I will be taking it one day at a time and I hope you have a great 2022!
Sorry about ur injury, maybe u dint do enough warm up,can’t believe you actually hurt it your incredibly fit did not expect it !! All the best with your recovery uR very strong
Thank you and it was just too much force for my Achilles going from dorsiflexion to plantar flexion. Just a crazy thing that happened to me. I appreciate your kind words and support!
