My 3rd Gen ACURA TL gave me SIX ERROR CODES at ONCE...HOW MUCH DID IT COST TO FIX???
The check engine light on my 2004 3rd generation acura tl went off earlier today and returned SIX ERROR CODES. Needless to say I was super frustrated, but there is a good ending!

Sounds like the very early stage of one of your ignition coils failing. My 04 TL threw misfire codes for 5 different cylinders and CE light popped on but I never felt a misfire. I deleted the codes and 2-3 months it was fine then one day it came back on with all the same 7 codes P0400-P0406 but this time it was actually down a cylinder. One at a time with the car running unplug each ignition coil and if the idle doesn't change when unplugged then you got your bad coil. Switch it with another to make sure the problem travels to the cylinder you exchange it with. Replace the coil ($60) and then reprogram the ECU using the throttle pedal and ignition switch. Those coils are a pretty regular culprit on Gen 3 TL's.

Hell ya that’s a good price. Don’t ever do to the dealer there gonna tip you off big time. Also I had to get my tranny in my 04 TL rebuild 😂 car has 195000 miles and I got a tranny rebuild from aamco. They put a external transmission cooler that looks like a mini radiator. And my transmission still don’t have any issues it been 50,000 miles since I got it rebuild. I alway change my transmission fluid not every 15,000 miles to keep it clean and in great shape

Also you'll get check engine light if u used bad gas just always use 93

Hey so I have my check engine flashing light on I did the spark plug change coils are good I did a valve adjustment bc in most cases is that but still have the misfires codes and random misfire also I did the valve gasket and o ring replacement my engine shake a little so what U think it is

I have an acura tl 2004, and it has a check engine light. I took it to a mechanic and it says the I also have a misfire at cylinders 5 and 6. Also when i start the car it stutters a little before it can get started. However when im driving it feels fine, not engine misfire. I wonder if I did the same thing as you if it can be fixed

You need readjust valve with fila Guage some would be close and won't move , that will fix miss fire

AF ratio sensor is what telling your ECU whether to cut or add more fuel into the cylinder, with they being bad the car has no way to telling if the engine running too lean or rich. People keep driving with a bad O2 sensor will eventually need replace catalysts converter. I service mine at the dealer, however it will be way cheaper if you buy your own part (make sure its OEM or OEM supplier parts) and have them do the work. E.G I got quoted for $240 for 1 TPMS sensor but I end up paying $60 for the same part. As far as the transmission issue goes, make sure you drain/replace the ATF with DW-1, drain 3 times, each time at 3 quarts and then replace the 3rd and 4th pressure switches (check it out on Acurazine) if your AT does goes out then you can get replacement AT from 06-07 Honda Accord V6 as they are way more reliable than yours. You will need to swap over the AT range switches and you are good to go.

+truonghthe nice! I've never driven a Type S and was thinking of maybe purchasing a 2008 Type S next. How does it compare to the base? Worth the extra money?

Type S really worth the money, they handling really nice for being a FWD, you will never find another car can hide the FWD trait unless you push it to the envelop. its handling very close to the BMW 335i (sport package) well minus the RWD nimble in turn, the Type S suspension could be a little rough some time and that why I got a base TL and RL as daily driver. The Type S got stiffer steering rack, seat is more bolster than base model, hug the road better than base model and in straight line you won't notice differences between the two unless you doing pedal to the metal. All Type S came with Brembo 4 pods front brake, other cosmetic that stand out from a Base TL, black chrome trim and a deck lid spoiler that unique only found on the Type S. The exhaust is perfect it grow after 3.5k rpm but not too loud. After I bought a Base model and compare between the two and I am still not regret getting a Type S in the first place.
