I have a 05 TL with 85k miles. Always wanted one and totaled my Jaguar a month ago and bought the TL. Absolutely in love. A reliable sports sedan with sexy luxury touches and a beautiful, pragmatic exterior. Acura hit it out of the ball park with 3rd gen TLs .

Please tell me how do you get the MPG and AVG Speed to display on dash? I tried on mine and I can’t find it. I have an 05 Base TL

I have a 05 TL same interior. Previous owner installed a long intake close to the floor and it absorbed snow in to the engine and it blow up. I raplece it and short the intake

Car is fantastic. I've had this car since 06 its now 11 years old and l still haven't found a car id rather have.. Smart move not buying a Beemer when l was shopping for this car l was back and forth with this and a 330 which my girlfriend at the time had just bought. I bought this as a 2 year old certified with 20k miles best decision l ever made her car has been in the shop several times and finally she had an electrical problem they couldn't even fix. I've never seen and Acura on the side of the road waiting for a tow.. Merc and BMW? All the time

This, or a 06 Lexus IS350...? I think the IS looks a bit better overall, but I prefer the Acura's rear and some aspects of the interior tbh. But at the same time, the IS handles better, is RWD (or AWD), has way more power, is probably even more reliable, is slightly better on gas, and has really convenient features such as push button start, and keyless entry... But the TL is cheaper and easier to find with lower milage... so torn between these two.

Tough call. I don't have any experience with Lexus, so I can't give you any first hand comparisons. But I did look into that exact model Lexus back when I was car searching. It was a bit out of my budget at the time but seemed like a nice car.

How's the automatic transmission on it?

The '04 and '05 years have sporadic issues with slipping. Mine slipped occasionally after I first purchased it, but after doing a few things maintenance wise, I haven't had any problems. I believed all the trans issues were fixed by the 2007-2008 models

I will like to know more about the fuel economy. Is the fuel consumption reasonably low ?

I've been averaging between 24 and 25mpg with a good mix of both highway and city driving. Best I've gotten is 32mpg on a two hour trip on the highway. Really depends on how you drive

To each their own, of course, but I'm much more fond of the second gen TL in terms of looks (most probably because I own one). And the J32A2 motor is better than the more modern J32A3 which this car has, that's just hands down, no contest.
