Hey everyone. I’m the girl whose adoption story aired on CBS’ 48 hours. The title was The Perfect Child. I’m excited to share my perspective about my adoption. This is just the first of many videos to come, so remember to subscribe to my channel.

You dodged a big bullet . That family seem crazy . Why adopt two different kids if you’re only going to favor one of them ?

We were watching the program and right when you walked into the room and hugged the reporter, our channel went blank! We were not convinced that you were the boogeyman, we felt the couple that originally adopted you was grossly negligent and frankly it’s a miracle that you turned out the way you did. Good on you!

the shot when the mom said to her brother that "I will not let her kill you" shows how manipulative they were :/ So clear that they made her say she tried to kill him and wanted to make the brother believe so too

I am so glad you have a voice now. I was adopted as a baby. I am 44 years old now, and my story was one that turned out good

I'm 34 years old and I remember watching the episode when it aired and it was so upsetting. I was basically the same age as you then; seeing you dropped off back to Russia as if it was a regrettable purchase at like a department store. I always wondered what became of you. I'm so happy to know that you're in such a happy ☺place in your life. Do your daughters know about your adoption story and if so how did you go about sharing it? I wish you lots of luck, health and happiness to you and your family.

Just got done watching the new 48 Hours story about you. It broke me. I'm still crying right now. As a father, I can't imagine doing that to my daughter, even if that daughter is adopted, I still wouldn't be able to do that. I hope you are well, Sabrina, and thank you for sharing your wonderful story with us. I was actually expecting a murder story when I clicked on that 48 Hours video, but damn, it made me cry. Your strength and resilience by not harboring any resentment towards those horrible adoptive parents inspires us. Thank you.

Dear servant of God, This is pastor Gabriel Bahati from Transmara-Kenya. Holy greetings to you and peace from our father and lord Jesus Christ. Am writing from Kenya and it was by grace of our mighty lord that I visited your website pages via the internet and I was beverage to find your contacts. After prayerfully reading through your web pages, I was spiritually charged, moved and thrilled since I came to realize that we share a common faith in the lord. We are a young growing ministry whose major aim blunder hell and populate heaven. By so doing we practice bible studies, prayer and evangelism to various areas to meet and restore more lost souls. Besides the gospel, we are involved in pity and compassionate ministries. we are taking care of orphans and ten widows from within our village and the neighbouring villages. Am making a humble prayer request to our father that He may touch your hearts that we can partner in this ministry since we are all brothers and sisters born of Him. I also pray for all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent that you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. Secondly, I would like to invite you to come and fellowship with us and see the work that am doing. It could be great for you will have a chance to preach a sound doctrine to us, preach, baptise and also establish your mission work in Kenya. There is only one body and one spirit,as you were called in the hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of all, who is above and through all in you all. I thank my God for every remembrance of you always in every prayer of mine, making request for you all with joy. We are hoping to be in fellowship with you. Being confident of this very thing, that “He that has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Just as it is right for me to think of you all since I have you in my heart. A ministry well done by his faithful servants bring Glory and Honour to God! We wish you God’s blessings for time and eternity, make you complete in every good work to do His will as we faithfully labour in him as you look forward to extend your love to us. May the peace and grace which cometh from Jesus Christ who hath loved and giveth us everlasting consolation be with you. I therefore request you to send us any books or materials that can help us spiritually, we will appreciate very much together with my church members. God bless you as I look forward to hearing from you soon. With kind regards, Kindly reply me with your email address or WhatsApp number so that i can reach you out directly. Or email me through my email: pastorgabriel07200@yahoo.com

God bless you! I am an adoptive mom and I know adoption can be hard when trauma is involved. I'm so glad now we are more trauma informed to better understand how trauma affects children and have more empathy for difficult behaviors. My daughter is 6 and beautiful and a complete blessing from God. I am so glad you were able to heal and move forward and have a beautiful life. A true miracle for what you've been through!

i was a close friend of the family and i went through an extremely traumatic event at the hands of joshua in 2021. if i had seen this story when i was still friends with one of the daughters, i wouldn’t have stayed her best friend as long as i did. i’m in shambles, i couldn’t imagine the extreme emotional pain you experienced. i wish i knew sooner. the second i saw jesse and crystal’s faces in the 48 hours video, it felt like a knife through my heart. i knew these people, i loved them for years, and this is one of the most ultimate betrayals. i am so so sorry you had to go through that, sabrina. i am here for you, i want to reach out but i don’t know how other than this.

@@misschi_xoxohe was violent towards their children, like chasing them around the house with knives, and using really bad drugs which got him kicked out of the house. then he got a girl pregnant and was abusing her. i went over there for 4th of july 2021 and it was my first and only time of meeting him, even tho i had heard about him thru our entire friendship. (they absolutely never breathed a word of sabrina) he ended up getting me extremely drunk and came into the room i was in, mind you the girls locked my door from the inside before they left me upstairs, his room was upstairs too. so he went through the bathroom door and forced himself on me while i was asleep. i woke up and he was on top of me, i was on my stomach. it was a huge ordeal, but he spun the story like i was “asking for it” then they tried to pay me off to cover up for his wrongdoings. i refused the money and went and filed a report. i’m 99% sure they paid their sheriff’s office to drop my case.

I was adopted when I was 7 and my bio mom was from Virginia. I was 9 when she passed away. I know that she loved me, but was not capable of caring for me properly. I was very lucky to have been adopted by a wonderful family. I know that my life is great because of the path that I was given. I am also happily married to an amazing man who has also been in law enforcement for 30+ years and right off he pointed out that the couple who first adopted you were the problem and he’s a very good at judging someone’s personality. I agree with one of the other commenters who said you dodged a bullet. We will have been married 35 years in February and were high school sweethearts. We have four grown successful daughters and 8 amazing grandsons with another one on the way! Maybe we will get a girl, but if not God has his plans and I have faith. I love getting in touch with other adoptees and sharing our stories. May God bless you and continue to be a source of light and hope in your life.

After hearing Dr. Grande comment on your case in Face Book, I dug up the full 48 Hours report online and got the whole story. I felt bad for the way you were treated by your first adoptive parents. I think they were a bit too neurotic and didn't know how to handle a 9-year-old girl. They lacked the proper instincts at that time. God bless the lady at the adoption agency who didn't give up on you and brought you to America. In the report, you could tell she was skeptical about what the first adoptive parents were claiming about you. She apparently got you to parents who were much more understanding and now you have a beautiful family to show for it!

I am an adopted child. I just watched the 48 hour video about your case. I was shocked and i was very angry. I never thought you had any problem at all. I never thought you wanted to hurt anyone. These ppl are sick. Sorry, but they adopted children for all the wrong reasons. I am so glad to see you doing well and smiling. That second Russian woman who finally adopted you, always loved you. I could see that in her eyes. You are lucky in a way that the others took you back. Although i strongly disagree with this. You can never reject an orphan again. It s a crime. But you finally found a mom who loved you for real ❤

My brother, at 12 years old, went through this same situation. He ran away because we were living in an unhealthy and abusive family. My parents lied to cover up and my brother out of fear lied and went along to even gain acceptance. Huggs

You were clearly suffering from an attachment disorder but that's not your fault. You suffered a lot before ever going to a orphanage. Being in an orphanage is hard and you should have been adopted with your brother. I hope you find your birth mom and brother one day. I'm conflicted by the 48 hour video but I'm happy you are happy. I'm sorry all that happened to you no matter what happened. I cried when they took you back to Russia. I'm not convinced they tried hard enough to find another family. Honestly you didn't need to be there. I'm glad you found love and have a beautiful family. ❤

are you going to make more videos about this? It's terrible what your 1st American family put you through. It was so obvious they were favoring the little boy not taking into consideration how it would impact you. And those stupid psychiatrists! Your story is very inspiring. I am glad you found a good family that raised you. I hope you make more videos.

Since watching your story I always felt the people who were going to adopt you were themselves incapable and immature and had no idea about how to bring up children. The so called mother appeared to be a little jealous, maybe you were developing a better relationship with the so called father and she felt threatened.Anyway it's great to see you've come thru that horrible experience whole and happy.🌈🌸

As a little girl your age, you should’ve been adopted alone and given the care, attention, space and time you needed to acclimate to such huge changes. Those people wanted a picture perfect life but we’re not prepared to handle the real life of it all. So they kept the young boy and sent the older child who needed (and deserved) much more from them away. That’s such a shame. I’m sorry they put you through such turmoil at such a young age. I hope that little boy wasn’t tormented by their need to be so superficially perfect. I’m glad everything turned out alright for you, but you still didn’t deserve what happened to you.

I've only just seen this in Australia for the first time and as a father of three beautiful daughters I was so upset seeing this, and so angry that people would do this to a little girl they adopted who called them 'mummy and daddy'. Those heartless bastards. This couple were clearly inexperienced and had no idea about the different temperaments of children. They were obviously convinced that every child was supposed to be this perfect child who was so easy to raise with little effort. I can be honest and say that my second daughter showed all these characteristics as was seen in the video. Compared to my first daughter, she was a bl@@dy handful and at times I just didn't know what to do. She was just an angry child and I don't know why. But over the years she got better and better, she mellowed, and she started to develop her own personality and now she's wonderful. Parents need to understand that children develop in their own time and you've just got to ride out the tantrums, the moods, the anger. You need to counter all this with love and devotion and one day, they'll come around. As for Crystal and Jesse, I hope they've thought long and hard about what they did.
