Honestly, I’d love to see this creative team do a “My Adventures with Wonder Woman,” a “My Adventures with Aquaman,” or even just a “My Adventures with the Justice League” series. You can tell they love DC’s mythology and its characters, while keeping things new and fresh.

OK here is my theory: the main adversary is Brainiac. In this continuity he destroyed Krypton (we saw some kind of space war in the flashbacks) and he is the source of the super tech weapons. He's providing them to Task Force X (or whoever they are) to trick them into helping him conquer/destroy Earth as well. Possibly Jor-El and/or the Kryptonians badly damaged him even if they couldn't stop him so he's too weak to do it directly. The "Zero Day" that Sam Lane witnessed was pieces of Krypton impacting Earth, which he thought was a deliberate attack which is why he's accepting Brainiac's help. I'm guessing he's going to become Superman's ally in the end when he realizes the truth.

This was the best episode yet of my adventures with Superman. It continues the issues that Clark, Lois, and Jimmy are dealing with from the previous episode, while introducing new complications. Clark is completely oblivious about Lois being on to his secret while focusing on how the mysterious tech is endangering lives, while the tech itself seems connected to Krypton, while also dealing with his own developing feelings for Lois, and being introduced to Deathstroke, Amanda Waller, and a general who's most likely Lois' father Sam Lane. Superman's confrontation with task force X is definitely his most difficult battle yet, and implies that Superman's powers are fluctuating, possibly due to not knowing what he's truly capable of. While it's clear that something happened to the general to make him be distrustful of Superman, he at least has enough integrity to not risk civilians to defeat Superman, unlike Amanda Waller who basically behaves as she usually does, doing whatever it takes to stop the threat, even if it's morally questionable. Lois is dealing with trying to expose Clark's secret of being Superman, while also dealing with her issues with secrets and lies. I honestly don't like how Lois exposes Clark by risking her own life, but it is sad and understandable how her relationship with Clark is taking a turn for the worse. In all honesty, I think Clark should be more angry with Lois because him being Superman isn't a secret that Lois needed to know, and I am not sure that the approach Lois took to expose Clark was the right thing to do. Clark even tried to tell Lois the truth in the previous episode, but Lois being frustrated with Superman's secrets made him pull back, and Lois' reaction to Clark exposing himself sort of justified him not telling her his secret.Jimmy deals with being a third wheel, Steve Lombard trolling his posts, and Steve even making a good point about Jimmy's relationship with Lois and Clark, ending with Jimmy being forgotten about due to Lois and Clark dealing with their own issues. Jimmy even gets kidnapped by the end of the episode by something that resembles an ape. I don't think that it's gorilla Grodd because he's a Flash villain. I won't know until the next episode, but it could be Ultra Humanite, an enemy of Superman that resembles an ape. I also don't know what is going to happen with the trio of Lois, Clark, and Jimmy, since things ended on a bad note with them, but the complications between them might make their relationship stronger.
@johnthai6188
@johnthai6188 Год назад
i think the personal conflict with lois in this episode was the build up of her being ignorant of who superman is in his personal life. remember, by this point the superman identity is a public figure. so before the last part of episode 4, to lois superman only existed as only superman. that is why she is trying to find out "who is superman." but i feel like if clark had told her his secret, she would have understand his point of view and not publish the article. so the only reason lois calls superman a liar is because she is ignorant to the truth to the situation.

What's a bit weird about "The General" is that their general characters who are connected to Superman, one who becomes his father in law, and another who hates superhumans so much, he hecomes a big hairless gorilla man. This is like, the third time Debra Wilson has voiced Amanda Waller in something, like in Telltale's Batman and Suicide Sqiad Kills the Justice League. Yeah, this show is way more realistic than the comics, on the topic of Lois and supes' double life. A journalist of lois' caliber should have seen through clark from the get-go, rather than decades later like in the comics. It's funny. I and many other pilloried bendis for his decision to write clark renouncing his secret identity. I still think it was not a good move. But watching Clark struggle with his two lives now makes me understand how it was actually a struggle through out his whole career as superman. Clark's normally about the truth--he's a journalist himself--and he had to lie about his whole self, for decades. I can kind of see why he might have decided to throw caution to the wind and own his whole truth.
@DanV900
@DanV900 Год назад
It wasn’t decades later in-universe. He wasn’t Superman for 20 years and then his identity was revealed. That’s not how histories of characters work.
@malicyoung9293
@malicyoung9293 Год назад
@@DanV900 When did Lois find out Superman's identity in-universe? I don't exactly recall when, but I know it wasn't immediate. In fact, I think Clark may have finally shared it with her, rather than her deducing it on her own. My point is, a journalist like Lois, top-flight, should have figured out Clark's secret immediately, as she does here.
@DanV900
@DanV900 Год назад
@@malicyoung9293 They actually got married in 1978 originally in the comics with Lois learning of the secret identity. Post-Crisis with the way comic time works, Clark says it was a few years in Action Comics #662 when the reveal happens in that issue in 1991. He actually proposed to her prior to revealing his identity. Lois not figuring it out has never been a big deal. The order of events was a bit ridiculous for the comics, but that’s how it happened. Since they were in a relationship already, she accepted it fairly quickly. If we wanted to push it, we would say 10 years in-universe. This version figured it out, but was incredibly immature in her response. Superman II had Lois figure it out too, but she didn’t get upset with Superman after it was confirmed by the blanks she shot in the Donner version or the fire in the theatrical version and was matter of fact about it. Clark just admits it without her realizing it in the animated series where she calls him sick since he knew she wouldn’t believe him. The Smallville version figured it out after a kiss after obviously they already had a relationship, but wanted to allow Clark to tell her the truth.

@@DanV900 in lois's defense, she said that if clark just told her of his secret identity, she wouldn't have published the article about it. which was what clark's argument was, about regarding his secret identity. the idea seems to be that she cares about him, more than publishing a winning article about his identity.

My super unlikely head cannon is that since death stroke is obviously gonna be a reoccurring antagonist, eventually one of the slade episodes will have the promo be the owner of the daily planet being announced to arrive and when the episode arrives we see it's bruce wayne. so the next time deathstroke shows up, superman can't beat him but batman shows up to kick his ass.

In my head cannon this is a prequel to the 2003 Teen Titans animated series ( like Young Slade )
