I just want to say I wish there are more youtube channels like this one, as a struggling architect student it is really helpful to see such projects with explanation, it helps me rearrange my thoughts and how to think in a sequential way to do the architectural project. Something that should be taught in architectural schools. Much Love !!!
Hey Jane! Thanks for your kind message. I couldn't agree more with you. Seeing how others develop their thoughts on projects helps us on our journey. In my University that always happened. We usually started the year with older students sharing their projects in a presentation. That was fantastic! I'm glad I could bring a bit of that into youtube
@@LearnUpstairs That is a great idea! I hope they would do that at my university, there are even professors that would review our work in private so that "other students won't steal the same ideas" they say :( I was really lucky to find your channel, I really appreciate what you put here
Hey Daniel! It's a hard-working process, but my suggestion it to not look just to the finish line. But try to divide it in small steps. Accomplish a few things each week and in the end you should have a robust final product. Good luck on this journey! And thanks a lot for the feedback 😁
There was a girl in my school that used to copy models and concepts from Pinterest pictures. She did this a couple of times through the semester. It’s so discouraging that people do this all the time and professors don’t notice it.
Had this happen to me on my thesis I just finished. Copied my entire analysis, some of my layout styles, infuriating (this was possible, because the professors wanted a overview of all projects after 2 month...) in the end her grade was bad, mine very good and her plans didn't look like mine... Still, I will tell my grandchildren about this haha
I know, right? It's disappointing. Someone copied one of the projects I posted here on RU-vid, and then I saw that they had being selected as one of the top finalists in an international students competition. I contacted the organization and they disqualified it. Thankfully 🙏 What reliefs me is that these people usually don't go far away
Your channel really taught me that presentations aren’t just for aesthetic and it should also have purpose. From technical diagrams to rendered perspectives. You inspire me so much as a n architect student! so thank you so much!
This is very well articulated!!! I'm in my third year and I know now how exactly a thesis process goes! Thank you so much! Your channel is very popular in India!
@@LearnUpstairs Add Indonesia 🇮🇩 to the list. You should keep doing what youre doing it helps to up the standard in architecture. We learned so much from your videos. I hope our feedbacks will inspire you to make more educational videos, lots of love brother
OK, so not only are you great at making visualizations for architecture but your actually a freaking genius as well! I'm absolutely blown away here, great work!!
Boa sorte!
Im doing my graduation project thesis now, thank you for giving us an idea about how to start the road! (In my uni the process of work is more detailed in term of info and work, which is stressful, I love the simplicity in your process) Just this week our site presentation and site analysis , wish me luck 🙏
Hey Duaa! I'm glad I could help 😁 The process is my uni is much more detailed than this, in the first semester we have to hand in almost 100 written pages about the research behind the theme for example 😅 and many other things that I kept out of this video so that the video would be easier to watch. Good luck on your presentation!!! 🙌
@@LearnUpstairs 100 pages! wow, architecture schools have no mercy all around the world 😂 Thank you so much! Waiting for another informative content as usual 👌
Thank you so much! I'm doing my graduation project thesis now and using ARCHICAD, Photoshop and Illustrator. You are like a guide to me :) Your project was represented really well.
I wish I saw this video before I had urban design, it is inspiring! I really like your project overall, the rendering style you chose is beautiful, the concept is heartwarming and the building itself fits really well in the site, and looks special. Congratulations! You deserved those maximum points!
Very pointed and crisp towards the moto of the land ! Mainly the contour and flood survey and construction towards those solutions was mind-blowing ! Hats off and all the best for your presentation
Glad I stumbled upon this channel, I’m in the architect pre-major. I have a lot to learn, this video shows me what I can expect what my future professors will expect! Thank you for sharing this.
Hey man, these kind of videos can be as long as you want to be honest, I'd love to see them regardless of the length! An extremely informative video, insights by seniors like you (I'm in my 4th year) help me a lot by creating some rigid standards that I'd like to meet in my projects as well! Thank you for this video!
Hey Avi! That's good to hear! I didn't know if people would stick around. Especially because I never posted any 40 minute video over the channel, and as I usually see from the RU-vid's analytics, watchers usually jump out in the first 10 minutes. But I guess this video was different 😅 And thank you for your kind comment!! Much appreciated
I am really fascinated with this type of content within this platform. I'm in my sixth semester (in Mexico) and it inspires me a lot to see these videos, I recently found your channel and I can't stop watching the videos, congratulations.
Can you make a video on how to make those detailed construction sections? To explain the structure like you did in this one for the facade and passive cooling. Thanks a bunch. Lovely video!
po muito foda, to indo pro terceiro ano de arquitetura e seus videos me inspiram pra caralho, me faz cada vez mais dar atenção e carinho pros meus projetos, até me deixou mais tranquilo pro tcc k k . parabéns pelo trabalho irmão.
insane. this is super sick. the quality and execution of everything was exquisite. very well done. you give me something to aim for as a third year undergrad student. thank you
as a student architect, these kinds of videos allows me to reorganize my thoughts on how to explain things and their functions. thanks for this video very helpful man
I am so inspired! If only I can do a thesis project again (it's been 7 years since then) Back then I am not much into graphics, presentation, thorough analysis. I am kinda regretting being not into these stuffs before.
Kudos for your project, Oliver! It’s a well solved social development centre! Thank you for making this video, it has been an insightful overview of your project and design process. I also find it as an inspiration for my thesis project, which I’m currently developing and sometimes I don’t know how to tackle it. 😅
It's really incredible! I really loved the concept that made you choose that site, the design ideas and the presentation! really good! Thanks for sharing!
omg thankyou so much for the inspiration. its really help me how to present a project, rendering, analysis n etc(for arch student like me). thankyou so muchh!!
Que projeto incrível! Adorei a ideia, as representações! Sucesso!
Obrigado Keyllane! 😁
@@LearnUpstairs mesma coisa acontece comigo.
you really are presenting in a great way, you have inspired me in so many ways. I learnt a lot from you by follow your sample and really produce my own, my lecturer did congrats me for having so much potential on myself. Thank you so much Upstairs
Thanks!! It's a photo 😅 It took me a long time to find a river that would somewhat fit in the perspective. Lots of transformation and clone stamping was needed. Also, I made sure to remove all the Blues and Cyans from it so that it would match the composition
This project is very helpful, it made me realize many things that I might apply in an urban intervention.. I'm also doing this kind of project, in rural zones by the way.. Thanks, you've cleared many doubts of mine
Great thanks from Germany! That inspired me:) Can you please do a tutorial with the single steps from the model in ArchiCAD to the process in Photoshop/Illustrator?
Great presentation. And very educational!!!! I was looking some video about this because of my last design at college, and here you are. Absolutley great. This is very hepfull. Greetings from Dominican Republic.
Great video Oliver! Thank you for sharing your project with us, It would be nice to see a tutorial video of the last image you showed us, how to place your renders on an aerial shot, it helps a lot explaining the project, being able to see it with it actual surroundings.
Love your project, the level of spatial tension is superb, the asymmetrical layout gives a sense of movement and fun....how do I miss the college times!!...reality is a different ball game!!! Still fun if you as are really good, at the right time and luck is on your way!!!....budget will become a dark cloud over your wildest dreams!!!...although sometimes sunshine will push through and a dream will become a Legacy in our cities.... good luck!!!
Such an interesting presentation! I like the concept of going from the outside in with each board. I’m going to be starting the creative portion of my thesis project next semester!
Just amazing work Oliver. Congrats! You just reminded me of Curitiba and a dear friend of mine I knew during my Erasmus in Germany. Hope I will soon visit Brasil and Curitiba also.
It definitely should have been there! But the thing is that I had already handed the boards in because of the deadline. Then I had a few days to finish up my presentation before my actual jury date and that's when I created this aerial image. Thanks for the kind words, Sergiy!
When i was subscribed to your channel that time i searching for the how to enhance presentation skills by using photoshop and i hoped into your channel and you really helped me by your videos you mean alot to me a real gem😁
well I know you oliver isn't cater nuisance in your content regarding me, im your old cap followers way back OUg and and now upstairs, thank you a lot in showing Ps tricks and other stuff in vray specially the elements stuff ive hugely use it in my architectural designs as work flow here in ph and now this video motivate me in doing my thesis regarding urban planning through via sustainable development thank you a lot, and also the other utuber, mr face like supperman showitbetter you also help a lot in making with ID. thank you for this motivation even if im drown by architectural sidelines. GOD BLESS MEN KEEP IT UP
This is very interesting! Great job! It made me realize how different schools if architecture teach. In my school the first step is spatial quality of architecture, which I did sense a bit in the drawing but you didnt really talk about much. Anywaysss super cool! 😍👌
Thanks Sarah! Yes, I bet it's very different. Thanks for sharing 😁 Even between universities here in Brazil the requeriments vary a lot. But I just wanted to point out that I didn't include all the thesis work in this video. There were many other technical things that wouldn't made sense to share over this video. For example, all the research (almost 100 pages) we had to write about the them before starting the project, or the urban parameters that were taken into account and many other things 😁
That is a good, concise project. Such public space-oriented projects should see the light of day through public competitions (as one might find in Europe). Brasil has a similar context to that of Mexico and Latin America as a whole... Best regards from Monterrey Mexico and thanks for sharing your work and process!
Thanks Tommy! That'd be really interesting as a video. The only problem is that these images took around 4 hours each. It might be hard to turn into a 10 minute youtube video, but I can try for sure 😁
This is really inspiring... I am currently in my thesis project as well, hope to achieve those gorgeous collages as well... Thank you so much for tips.
I just wanted you to know how helpful you are to architecture students, the guidance your videos give and the techniques you teach are truly amazing! I have always wanted to know how this certain type of rendering has been created (the external view of your building 11:38) especially the grass. I would really appreciate if you could do a tutorial on this please!! Loved the building and thank you for sharing.
