Good day, Lyn. I appreciate you sending me the link to your Ariocarpus video. When you said you only had a few of these amazing plants, I thought, wow, these are so valuable, because they are so slow growing and they take years to develop, I thought you would have many more. It was impressive that one A. retusus you have was over 30 years old and had never flowered. Too bad. I saw many of those incredible Ariocarpus, Parodia/Notocactus, Astropythums and other very old, mature well cared for specimens at the LA Succulents show in Los Angeles on Saturday. Really incredible plants that were on display and the nursery also had a sale where I picked up a nice A. retusus long tubercle form and a Haworthia mauhananii x truncata. They are great new additions to my plant family. I really appreciate your knowledge and how the internet allows you to share your love of the plants you personally care for with all the other cactus and succulent lovers in the world. That would be me, myself and I, who didn't really care about them, even though I grew up on a farm and had my hands in the dirt at a young age. A summer working at the Utah Shakespeare Festival in 1978 changed all that for me after seeing many species of cactus wild in nature. That appreciation from back then seems so natural now. Love the PLANT POWER!!! Thank you, Lyn. May the sunshine find you every day.
So happy you watched the Ariocarpus video Patrick :-D and thats awesome you bought an Ariocarpus retusus long tubercle form and a Haworthia mauhananii x truncata, and really incredible new additions you have bought to your plant collection, WOW it must have been amazing to see all the wild species of cacti when you was working at the Utah Shakespeare festival back in 1978, it would be a dream for me to see the cacti growing wild in their natural habitats, thanks so much Patrick for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle to LA for a fantastic new week XXXX

Thanks for sharing your ariocarpus collection Lyn! They are such interesting plants. I had a retusa many moons ago. They are a tad persnickety and not your run of the mill cactus lol. I think they grow in West Texas, at least the Ariocarpus fissuratus does in Big Bend National Park 🏞️. Tons were confiscated after being illegally poached a few years ago🤬Yours are wonderful!!!
So happy you loved the Ariocarpus collection Forsythia, these cacti really can be persnickety to grow haha, and can be so rot prone, thats so awful that poachers were taking these cacti from their habitats, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you and Tori lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to North Texas for a super Sunday XXXX
