I’m in Italy now ending my high school and think to start my modular training next September. The question if you will is: how did you finance your course, including leaving abroad, the ATPL and PPL? Davide as it seems Dimitri didn't answer to your question so I will try helping you! There are several ways to get finance the cost you could get a loan either from a bank or relatives also another way that i also think helps is working and studying at the same time. So you find a part time job and work in the afternoons after flight training. And the last and best way is if you find an airline sponsored program which means that you will study and will have an airline job waiting you at the end. How that works is the airline pays for your flight training and then you are in a debt with that airline that means that a part of your salary each month will be held by the airline so you can repay you debt. Demetris, I've been a subscriber to your channel, for such a long time. I believe you were just sixteen years of age when I discovered your postings as a plane spotter, and your joyous activities plane spotting at Skiathos. You and your buddies were experiencing a great time, as you should have, only being age 16. Now you're exercising the education steps for becoming a commercial airline pilot. It's obvious, aviation, as part of flight deck crew is precisely, where you want to be. Congratulations on the completion of your ground school requirements. I haven't taken the time to locate it here on RU-vid, but there were numerous videos of a Television program, from a few years ago; where recently licensed pilots were looking for actual experiences for gaining airtime, sufficient enough to apply for a European airline job. These want to be pilots, male and female, would find a way for traveling to Africa, and to the nation of Botswana. After arriving there, they would find transportation to the main connecting point for pilots wanting to be employed with Passenger/Cargo air services to Safari resorts out in the bush. Sometimes these new pilots might be there for weeks before their own personal finances were about ready to expire. Then one of these bush air services would hire them, and their first low paying flying job would commence. Yes, making daily charter flight runs out to the bush, and back (sometimes, more than 2 round trips a day) were their workload. As their proficiency grew, then the company's caretaker pilot would no longer be flying in the right seat, and the new hiree would be solo. The largest aircraft in most of these fleets was the turboprop-powered Cessna Caravan, with the belly cargo box. Sometimes these bush flights would first have to do a low pass over the runway (DIRT surface) to chase away the wildlife on the runway before a landing could be attempted. The safari resorts will send out a Range, or Land Rover vehicle, to meet the flight; delivering passengers and freight, or picking up those returning to the connecting point. Maybe you already know of this, because once these pilots have checked out on several different aircraft, and have accumulated memorable logged hours, then they would have an excellent resume, for making their position application to a European Air Carrier. A fairly large amount of these candidates were successful, and are gainfully employed.
What are the main advantages and disadvantages of both ATPL and MPL? I am not sure what would be the best choice for me and I would like to get a further insight on how they are different from each other and what their limitations are

Which question bank did you use to prepare for the atpl exams? I just started my atpl course as well and many people said its better going through question banks rather than trying to understand everything, since there is so much to learn. Do you agree with that opinion?
I want to become a Pilot since 5 years . I know a lot about Aviation and Airplanes. But I've heard that the DLR Test is very difficult and they only take the best . I am not good at maths
Hi, thanks for watching! I believe this is a thing of the past. From my experience, airlines tend to prefer cadets who worked hard for their training and have a story to tell, e.g. people who started working in a flight school to gather funds for the next stage of their training. At the end of the day, you end up with the same licence in hand. Of course, limiting the number of training providers to 2, 3 or less would be ideal, as they can provide a more “complete” report on someone’s training. So, in a word, the answer to your question is no, unless of course there is a direct cadet scheme between flight school and airline.
@@greatflyer_aviation Oh really, that's interesting you still see a lot of people going around bragging about how integrated is the superior route and airlines prefer it. Well that's good to hear, I also have 1 more question. (BEFORE THE PANDEMIC) Do you know anyone who did modular and couldn't find a job afterwards? You see all of these stories going around of new grads who have been out 3 years and still can't find a job, I really want to get into this but even the modular is a big commitment.
Hi, I had a couple of mates who got hired in airlines that went bankrupt in 2018/2019 but no association with an integrated vs modular course. What I have seen with friends is huge, inexplicable delays in training with those who chose the integrated route, due to complications with numbers of students vs instructors, travelling overseas, aircraft capacity etc. A friend of mine enrolled in one of the biggest flight schools in the UK in May 2019, completed all his ATPL exams 7 months later, and is still in the waiting list waiting to commence his flight training, after having paid a ridiculous amount of money.
@@greatflyer_aviation Thanks again for the response, 1 last question. A lot of pilots have to move abroad to get their first job, right? But since Brexit has gone through could this restrict rights for British pilots to work in other countries? If it does this will be terrible because no pilots will be able to work in other countries resulting in a huge surplus here in Britain, is that correct?

Hi Dennis! ATPL theory at CAE cost me £5500. I shared a house with 5 other mates for £475 each which is about the average price for a house share in Kidlington. There's also a reliable and simple bus service to town and to the airport.
They will help you fund it with a loan IF they think you’ll pass. Usually determined by your grades from school and the tests you’ll do in the application faze
In Europe, you can start pilot training straight after finishing your secondary education. Integrated packages vary in price, you can search online for prices offered by different academies.

εχω στειλει ενα email στο ucademics αν το γνωριζεις και μπορω να παω σε σχολη με τα εξοδα πληρωμενα..θα πρεπει βεβαια να τα επιστεψω οταν βρω δουλεια αλλα το προβλημα μου ειναι οτι ειμαι μονο για αγγλια..ερωτηση τωρα αξιζει να παω στην αγγλια για atpl ?
I am 15 nearly 16 and fly gliders very often and on the rare occasion PPL aircraft. Im looking to build nyself up to work for the big airlines. Self funding is the only option for me as well. Loans or remortgage wont work out for us, anyway, do you need AMAZING academic results to become a pilot? What were yours like? The highest grade im expected to get is an A* IT and a 7 in maths. Everything else C and B apart from English which is an A. Im currently in tje RAF air Cadets. Havent done any flying with them because the local airfield woodvale seems to have something wrong with the runway so its all self funded. And im apart of a gliding club and i have a student leadership role at my school (subject to get it next year) am i an AIRLINE pilot material?

To qualify for pilot training High School exams/o levels are sufficient to get you going. However a a cadet with a backup degree is always seen as an advantage.

Για σου φίλε Γιώργο. Εάν πρόκειται για cadet schemes όπου μέρος των σπουδών σου πληρώνεται από την εταιρεία (δύσκολο να μπεις), τότε ναι. Αν όχι, τότε δεν αξίζει καθόλου, ειδικά όταν έχεις να πληρώσεις και το type rating στο καπάκι. Η Εγνατία πάντως έχει πολύ καλά προγράμματα απ'ότι ακούω.
