Recent subscriber here, love the stuff you do with Anderton's and you're definitely a hell of a guitarist and a really funny dude in general. Keep up the great work, man, stay awesome and peace from Canada
I have to say Dave, I've only been watching your videos for a few weeks, but they bring so much joy and inspiration to me I'll be forever grateful. I love how down to earth your presentation is, and how you simply display your love for your art. And to hear you play is fugging dynamite. Having watched a few of your older videos I'm glad to see you're not so hard on yourself about your errors, as a musician you know it's often the mistakes that make a performance, and that goes for videos too. All the best and have a great weekend
That's an achievable set of pedals for most people I reckon. Not for yourself but a good addition to that for a lot of people that inhabit the middle ground of home playing and gigging places with cabs and a backline I'd say the addition of a Blackstar Amped pedalboard amp. Even if you don't always need it having the ability to plug straight in when all you turned up with is your guitar and board is great.
Yusss ! Enjoyed this 'Demo' very much... You keep lifting the 'Bar' Dave... Have to be one the most gifted, talented Guitarists 'around'... Your knowledge of 'instruments' is vast and applying same instruments is Fantastic... Cheers ! 🤠...
My set-up is positively spartan then, 'cause I only use a distortion (Mesa-Boogie V- Twin, which went out of production allmost 20 years ago. Bought mine in '96) and a delay (Boss DD-20, which I believe is no longer in production either). I haven't even bothered with a board; I just keep them on the floor. In either end of those two, is the 1975 Fender Strat that I've had since I turned 18 33 years ago, and a Twin Reverb reissue amp with Jensen speakers. Rig sounds fabulous, though, and I don't really want for anything. Even got compliment from the front-of-house tech on our gig today, that it sounded as if it went through the PA, even though it didn't (It hardly ever does, to be honest).
Amazing wonderful and beautiful sound and playability , mind blowing. You really are amazing , been watching your videos for arround two years now , i have learned so much with your videos about music and gear that most of the gear i have is same as your but of course in a just minimal number compared to all gear you have as i can't afford much as you. But gear apart i just would love to play at same level as you , but as a beginner i still have a long way to go , to archive such desire , but i keep practicing and this because you are so inspiring and so lovely person to listen and watch
Dave, I wish I could make a Strat sound as good as you do. Such wonderful playing. And I want to get to the point where you are where you just take the gear that you already have and make some incredible music with it.
Nice playing. If that’s your backup pedal board you must have some fabulous kind of regular use board. You’re getting some monster sounds 🎵 out of it. 👍☮️🌞🎸🩵
Just got this idea... When on festivals bands are done and gear is set up for the next...would it be possible to do a "Bought a new...amp,guitar,pedal" intermezzo? Presented in Monty Python fashion: "And now for something completely different, the Fender Bluesbreaker".
Hey Dave. Been subscribed recently after seeing your vids on Andertons. Really awsome playing and super stoked to see another pedalboard video. Gotta say it sounds absolutely killer! Really like how you're using a small multi-effects pedal like the Zoom with other pedals. I've currently got a similar setup with DigiTech rp 55 multi fx and crunch distortion pedal but thinking about getting on getting a ds1 and phaser soon. I was wondering if you have ever tried combining the Zoom pedal's gain/distortion with your other distorion/gain pedals and modulation pedals (chorus/phaser) and what would be the best signal path for doing that. Edit: Also would you be potentially interested to do a video on using other gain/modulation pedals with the zoom's distorion/gain?
Do you use a compressor on your main board ? You mentioned with the zoom you don’t really use the compression function in the traditional sense. I’m currently building my first pedal board and am debating whether or not to buy a compression pedal. Would you recommend any ? Thanks great video as usual 👍
I've got 5 pedals and I'm not Really looking for any more, maybe one of those whaa whaa pedals if i can understand how it would fit in my set up. Decided to get a pedal board and man they just keep everything neat and the whole thing can be moved, yer sounds pretty "well yeah" but for ages i just had all my pedals spread out, and it was a pain the ass to get them where i wanted them. Also downloaded a mixer app so doing stuff with that, but that's something I've never done, actually produce a track from a mixer thing. Gotta love music, keeps me sane....ish...
@@thedavesimpson Yes, there are videos on that (“desert island pedal”, “how I would setup g2 for a gig”) but not on the settings that you currently use on your main/backup pedalboard.
@@thedavesimpson it a bunch of modulations in one regular size pedal, it's kind of like the G5N only small. Zoom MS70CDR MultiStomp Guitar Multieffects Pedal
