That car looks pretty decent, looking forward to see you get it done and hopefully get a new life with a proud and happy owner. Have a great weekend! Cheers 🙂
Got the same car sline 12 years old and I love it no rust at all and it is always outside had changed most serviceable parts on it and it don’t cost that much only thing I haven’t changed but thinking about it is the turbo I keep hearing the police siren when it is cold but to be honest I drove other A3s and the siren is still there some say as soon that happens change the turbo but it is not loosing power or licking oil or smoking and it’s been like that for 5 years so I think I will wait on that, looking forward to your next video.
Mate that's a bargain. My favourite shape of A3 and the 170 lumps are great fun. Be nice when its done. Own an Octavia tdi myself love it only a 1.6 mk3 but pulls like a train and has been absolutely reliable only issue I have had is a thermostat that was stuck open fixed cheaply.
Love the vids bro👌 I’d like to start my own similar projects but have little mechanical knowledge just wondering what’s the best way to learn the basics so I can get started without spending too much money
Thats hard to say really, if you have little mechanical knowledge i would say get involved with someone that does and get some knowledge behind you before you jump into a project. Or if you do make sure you have some mates that are clued up
Man the circle. I had a Golf MK5, now have an Audi A3 TDI too. Be interesting to see the common problems as I haven't experienced them yet with mine. Although Tandem Pump failure is a common issue on the 140ps
Hi bud... Great content... My old car will be in auction soon... Had a bit of a dodgy repair be a good project for you I have more info if it tickles your fancy... It's a audi TTS stage 2
Front coils are always breaking on a range of cars. Just shit quality steel especially Renault Lagunas! Just a tip always replace coil springs in pairs or it will 'lean'.
@TheCamshafter '3rd world'? Whatever you say ... If you have replaced that many on your Audi there is something wrong with the parts you are buying not the roads. Oh and 5? You should be replacing in pairs so either 4 or 6. Maybe thats why they are breaking. I have been driving cars, bikes and trucks for over 50 years and only ever had two broken springs. Both on Lagunas. Its a known issue with them.
We always used to recommend it at audi. But for me personally I don’t see the point. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it. I’ve changed loads of springs just on one side and never had an issue, and don’t see why you should. IMO of course 😊
well done ,a very cheap audi a3 for 400 quid m8,i love the writing on rear class salvage fix me im bored hahahaha great humour buddy ,i really enjoyed the content,.i paid to much at 4500 for my old nice 2010 a3,truble is i like them with no faults and mint condition,i pay premium, im useless at buying used cars i always spend to much for them wish i was clever like you dean m8 you get bargains, keep the great content coming ,take care, all the best pal..from fan pasta man.
Hi mate I’ve been watching your vids for a while n they’re great. I was wondering if u could help me? I have an a6 2.7 tdi, which turbo actuator has gone. I’ve bought a new actuator it is still goin in limp mode. It will move up and down when ignition is turned on. Is there any easy way round this? I understand your very busy but any help would be very appreciated thanks. 👍🏾
If its been confirmed the actuator is the problem you are meant to set them up when i new ones fitted. as if they are working outside the parameters it will still go into limp mode, so may be worth checking that
I pasi 7300 for an sline version of one of these low miles 09 170 last year, 400 quid that's a steal! The wheels themselfs are worth 400 you essentially got a free car 😂
Why do those 170hp start so bad,i got a passat with the same engine and it also starts so hardly on every morning when the temperatures are about 0 celsios..?
Picked up a 2007 A3 2.0tdi with 120k for £150 a month ago Flat tyres, flat battery, filthy, no service for 80k (!), clutch breather valve fault, rear wiper fault....list goes on lol Sorted nearly all of it now and I'm only into it by £400 total....need to clean the EGR out and work out why the rear wiper makes horrible sounds but doesn't move every time I start the car....then it'll be grand Goes well too that 140 diesel In the spirit of the budget I'll be doing the cambelt myself.....can't say I'm looking forwards to that
