Just starting my Barlow collection. I have the Taylor’s Eyewitness and Arthur Wright & Sons and a Old Timer Barlow and Imperial Barlow on order. I’m a little obsessed with them already 🤣 Lovely collection and a few to add to my wish-list there 🤣 Great video as always Paddy 😁
Beautiful Bevy of Barlows. You have there! You have such a wide variety. I don’t think I could pick a favorite, probably the Burl Taylor’s Eye Witness.
I like how you collected different models and makers that show the wide range of Barlow shapes and sizes available. The shape of the Eye Whiteness is the one I like best. I believe the shape of the handle makes it stand out from the others.
I'm biased but I agree it is so comfortable in the hand and the finnish is stunning. I really enjoy all price ranges and designs, it's what makes the hunt exciting. I'm actually enjoying going through my collection. Atb paddy
Great examples of a great pattern. The Bulldog tobacco barlows all have a different type of the tobacco on the blade. I have the a beautiful deep green jigged bone Florida bright leaf edition.
Thank you Paddy I've put an order in for the Queen so looking forward to getting it and I also have the Henckels in the deep red jigged bone however mine is a single blade model. The jigged bone is so deep and well done it's a keeper in my growing tradition als collection....take care!
Excellent video of a great collection. The GEC #25 is my favorite. I have several including the Bulldog brand SFO, which has the most beautiful handles.
What a marvellous collection Paddy, those are really great work knives. One even more beautyfull then the other. That high end Taylor is indeed superb. Thank you so much for showing.
Great review as always I’m lucky to have two Taylor’ eye witness knives in ox horn and mother of Pearl and I’m on the look out for a ram horn version too and I’m extremely lucky to be able to grab a GEC 15 in smooth autumn gold bone ,from the recent run...can’t be many of them in the U.K. :)
This is one of the nicest barlow collections I have seen Paddy. Cogrtaulations on your choices. Jpe from Messerhq has a great one too. I can only wish to get some as nice buddy.
I will always have Paddy Potato Peelers to thank for having introduced me to the traditional knife world. My collection and my pleasure in the hobby has taken a completely different turn.
Paddy I love those Barlows also. They remind me of my Popaw and my first knives when I was a young boy. I always look forward to your videos Paddy. Thank you
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 I love the nostalgia with the Barlow knives and carving great things with them such great work horses tough tools maybe I clean a rabbit if I catch one it’s sure going to do the job. 👍🇮🇹🐾🦊🍀
@@chrisboyd2034 Check the website immediately. They are both in stock according to the website. I missed out on the denim micarta work knife the first time around. But like I said, according to the website it looks like they are both in stock. Get on it man. LOL
Have a look at the saw cut backwoods bushcraft copper Barlow by RR. Personally with the black blades and the copper liners and bolsters I think it's an absolute gem.
Something happened to your Case blue bone Barlow with the corn cob jigging. Did you sell it? Great video. I’ve been carrying mine since I got it. Don’t need a knife that often though.
Think I do two just need a couple more of each to make sure.sorry about sporadic text answering been a bit manic here with wife having a broken foot. Lol.atb paddy
Keep watching the channel mate I'm working with a dealer and he's waiting for a resupply very soon.ill do a video on the day they go on sale.atb paddy 👍😀
@@arbitrarynightjar2788 that's really simple, the Rough rider reserve Barlow,it's a fantastic choice.micarta handle and d2 steel.check my review.its one of my favourite knives this year.atb paddy 😀
Unfortunately sending it back as although it was a beauty it developed or i noticed some blade play after only a week of fidgeting with it. Is this common with pinned slip joints. Expected more for the price.
@@roylerroycerickson no it should not happen but this is a handmade piece and sending it back now is the right think to do.you can use a peening hammer to remove side to side but you most likely will expose the pinned bolster.the maker can do a much better job than us.up and down play is definitely a craftsman job.let me know how the return system goes for you.atb paddy.
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 will do any suggestions on what to replace it with? I quite like the look of the feel good jack not sure how easy it is to maintain and sharpen though as I’m more used to spear points don’t have much experience with a straight edge?
@@roylerroycerickson the newest knife the pioneer jack is a posh sodbuster and a fantastic alrounder. You need to use diamond stones to sharpen s90v.Harder than most steels but just takes a little longer to sharpen.keep it stroped after use it will last for ages before it needs sharpened.
Paddy I’ll tell ya I wish I had your money mate!!!!! When you want a piece what do you do go to sally and tell her your buying a knife? Does she get mad when you buy knives my wife hates it!!!!!! I always ask my wife when she’s in a good mood if she’s not in a good mood then I have no chance!!!!! What’s your secret!!!!!!!
Lol.pete,I only use my pocket money and selling knives to buy more.she does lend me a few quid now and then if I'm skint.🤣🤣🤣👍☘atb.The man of the house paddy.
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 yeah paddy I was wondering because my wife goes nuts with the money spending!!!!!! Ok good anyway I have the benchmade mini Adamas coming in that puppy was 250 bucks!!!!!! She saw the price of that and went nuts!!!!! Thanks mate be well!!!!!!!😀
@@jerseyknifeguy6382 I love that knife, really looking forward to your take on it.ive a video coming this weekend thats so not a paddy knife think you'll like it.atb paddy
I'm sorry Joe I didn't think this would have bothered you. But I will not put any more up out of respect for you,I just thought it was a good way to show our knives.sorry you felt like this,it's a small community and I just thought all our viewers would enjoy.paddy.
@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 yeah I mean you can do what you want with your channel but 3 out of your last 4 videos were almost identical to ones I have made recently. I put a lot of work and research into my videos. And all I am asking is to give credit when you borrow an idea. Its basic courtesy....whatever bud im over it lets move on with our lives. Joe
@@MesserHQ I'll tell you what big lad there's a proper way to make a point. Maybe look into private message when you feel personally agreved. Disappointed 😞
Could not help but see the back and forth. Both you guys make wonderful and educational videos. Lots of fun. No need for any competition. Plenty of LOVE to go around for everyone. May the Almighty bless you both and thank you MEN for what you BOTH do. PEACE. 😀✝️✌🏼
