People using swearing as a reason to not like someone is bullshit. They're just holier than thou judgemental people and are probably looking down on others for completely different reasons and just using that as an excuse.
Poor guy this can't have been easy for the Groom dealing with intrusive thoughts and that the reality was actually mixed about who was going to be the best man. Thankfully he woke up to what was going on before the Wedding. Thankfully the wife wasn't a B like usually happens in these stories, just someone who needed to stand up to her mum. Heard a diff version of this where the friend had made a passing comment about liking the OP years back that never went anywhere or something like that and the fiance had made sure to ghost so OP wouldnt be at the wedding/wedding party which ended up getting cancelled.
If your boy is too busy to handle wedding related stuff, and he refers you to the fiancée, somebody should tell her as well, so she knows a bunch of randos might be calling.
