Well done.... you did a fantastic job of capturing the atmosphere and sense of occasion at events like that..... So much so that I've just decided to get back into triathlon after a few years of focusing on cycling and time trialling.

Great work Dan, proving that hard work pays off. Fantastic result. More importantly though, a great video, although it would be better if you could have got Liz's shopping trolley in it :-) . Only done 1 outlaw half, the rest have been IM fulls and 70.3s, might have to give one another go.

Did you pay for a videographer for this? Either way it was really great footage and high quality too. Usually videos of someone else's event can be pretty - particularly when it's quite long and detailed - but this was very immersive and engaging. Great job.

Thanks very much Gary, really appreciate it! Yes I have engaged some video support, some remote stuff but mostly event videos. It’s just too difficult for Liz to do it all. It doesn’t make financial sense at the minute but speculate to accumulate or something 😬

Great performance. I'd assumed that you'd got a great draft - I didn't know you could swim that fast! But mate, learn the rules - you can't touch your bike until your helmet is done up! Don't you work for British Triathlon?

Well done Dan great effort amazing time! Couple of Questions…why did you seed yourself so high for the swim? Was it to be out near the front pack? Also notice you wear a giro aero head. I have the Amex helmet and the visor always steams up, I have been tempted of late to wear a pair of sunnies like yourself but was worried whether that negates the aero benefits?

Thanks very much! When we queued for the start, everyone went to the first pontoon, I went to the second which is slightly further to swim but it’s a few metres at most, I decided that being in the water a minute or two ahead of where I would otherwise be would be better than being further back. I’m not sure what the aero situation is to be honest, but I find having the wind on my face helps me keep cool, I feel like I can see more and so I feel like I ride better as such. Sebi Kienle also rides like that sometimes so it must be ok 🤣

@@TriathlonDan thanks really helpful I see re the swim. Just wondering as similar sort of swimmer and always find myself swimming slower than I would like. Re the helmet yeah you are one of many top ranked triathletes seb, blu and skipper. You are up there with them!
