The AI just doesn't build theater squares. Except Kupe, he seems to love building them for some reason. At least in my (limited) experience.

I like this format more because it's a condensed version of a let's play series with commentary and insight I think it should become a regular feature on your channel, it's easier to get into civ that way for newcomers too

I would have thought Russia would be better? spam holy sites and theatre squares. use faith for gp purchases etc. would be interesting to see honestly. your religion would not really matter, as you would just be stockpiling the faith for the GP. maybe snag warrior monks, and the religious building with the religious art slot? I think its cathedrals? shit out a couple warrior monks for an early army boost, and they have promotions that let them spread the religion with kills. then you shouldn't need to worry too much about it if you get flooded with another religion, it wont matter at that point.

I like the traditional lets plays more. This style once and a while would be ok to showcase something quickly, however the situational strategy and look ahead component is lacking. All the commentary is the overview of what occurred so we weren’t lost looking at the ants running around on the screen

Why did you choose Gorgo over Pericles? Wouldn't Pericles have given you more culture overall? Like I understand it could make the acropolises more expensive, but it would have meant you could get certain civics that grant tourism in different ways quicker, like recorded history to get the Great Library and Opera and Ballet to get Bolshoi?

Y'all think that Potato has increased the speed of this video but this is actually how fast he plays! 😂

The format is good, but little bit slower would be nice though or some pauses to explain and show a status of your strategy and civilization. But awesome victory ! 👍🏻💪🏻

I actually like this style a lot, most of the time in a regular civ series i’ll lose interest halfway through, not because i don’t enjoy the content but because it takes up more of my time

I like that your casual videos have now become more relaxed, and you'll allow yourself to make mistsakes or detours for fun, even going all out nuclear war just cause you felt like it. That said, this format would be a great way to demonstrate your skills, I love it! It's great having both casual games and speed attempts as their own separate videos, and I love the commentary!

Civtrader (the guy you talked about) recently posted that he got a turn 104 deity culture victory. It's a post called industrial era great writers in the classical era, or something like that. It was posted on the civ subreddit. He talks about her he got it and he also says Oracle is a wonder you should get and the monumentality golden age.

how many times this game did the ai ask for your great works? i usually get at least 3 ai a turn like: *points gun at me* give me the Sistine chapel ceiling

You know, watching this, ive noticed you didn't build a single aqueduct, dam or industrial zone. And I feel like any of those would have helped since despite the downgrade of appeal, they would have given you lots more housing and production, which would make you get art museums or even your districts out faster. An acropolis past ten turns feels like such a waste of a district that could have been mitigated in a lot of your newer cities and you basically chopped all the production in your capital, making everything take longer to get out. Edit: Also, as you say near the end, you got super lucky with the lack of culture civs in this game. If the Kongo, Russia or either Eleanor in this game, you would have been screwed.

I really like this format. If you try to do this again before the patch dopps, I think harvest is the better pantheon choice. You will just be able to expand so much faster. And since you don't have to spend your gold on builders you can buy amphitheaters insted. About the government choice. Do you think it is worth it to stay in classical republik for the +15% great people points?

I would like to see you do the same strategy and implement the things you would have done in hindsight. Then do a comparison video in the same format.

I think this is a great new concept for content. Would love to see more of these. One thought is possibly letting very key moments play a bit slower to point them out.

Can you make tutorials? I am trying out Immortal difficulty but it hard because I often don't have space to settle because of the 2 settlers AI receives at the beggining. Can't even imagine the 3 settlers they get on Deity. And it is really hard to play with 5 cities because tall is not that powerful.

Watched the stream, but I have to say I like this narration format you put on youtube as well (because I normally watched at 2x despite your machine gun talk while this is perfect for 1x :P) Maybe you can do this once in a while? Oh and what do you think about tokimune? He gains can build theater square in half a time too while doesn't get restricted to hills, and can utilize holy site for early game.

Big fan of this review-type video. The fast pace works well when the video itself is still fairly meaty and long, and it's far easier to digest in my free time than long series, that come across as more empty. There's less downtime here.

i like that form of video. You could be concentrated on your gameplay and explain it after. Easier btw to understand your own mistakes and explain them too.

Loved this video. You could start a series of ultra-optimized runs, even if it takes a while to record them. Also, I personally would prefer if the video wasn't sped up, even if you had to break it down in 2 or 3 videos. Normal speed gives the viewer more time to understand what's happening. Edit: As another option, you could do some challenges for your viewers or other RU-vidrs. Give a random seed, and the challengers must win the game as fast as possible. The type of victory or civ that they will use is open to choose, and with specific rules set(like, 8 players, deity, everything else standard, etc).

I'd like to see how an optimized gameplay version of this would go. This video gave me war flashbacks of elevator pitches. I like it.

Hey Potato, I think this video was a nice breath of fresh air! Like literal fresh air and going outside, I wouldn't want to do it always, but every once in a while they would be nice!

If you try again, do it with sweden (for the theming on apanada and great library, as well as biliotechque to finish it out, or egypt/china for fast wonder production. Getting oracle is key for faster writers, and stonehenge for more faith from wonders religion to get builders in golden age

I love this format. In my opinion, I'd like you to slow down and sorta zoom in on times where important decisions were made. Maybe like 3-5 times throughout the video. I also would prefer if the entire video were slowed down by maybe 20-30% or so. But I like this a lot. Edit: If you are looking for different video ideas, too, I would love to see more "first two to three eras" videos. I think starting out is the most interesting and important part of the game to me. Also, please get a patreon. I'd love to support you.
