I am currently in Morocco, I pay only one dollar for 1 kilo (2 LB). It’s wild figs, non GMO, very old trees, no chemicals, no human intervention. Ripen and soft.
A couple of months ago, I picked out some organic figs that I thought would be really good based on look and feel. I went down an aisle where there was no one and popped a whole fig in my mouth, and it was flavorless. I turned right around and took them back to produce. I try grapes and blueberries and kale and lettuces all the time before buying them. Produce is too expensive and important not to.
I don’t blame you for picking the ripe fruit out. You are a paying customer. They need to do a better job of providing ripe fruit especially with the prices they be charging
Lmao. I was doing that at wholefoods with plums and the produce worker was offended. He asked me was I picking or messing up his basket. I stared him dead in his face and told him " yep I'm picking the ones I want to buy" he shut his mouth because I'm going to go toe for toe for my body and my dollar. It wasn't early the store was packed. Men was looking at me and thirst trapppin. I am not the one to fear makin a scene. He can sit his ass down or stop putting mediocre fruit on the shelf. And thats exactly what he did.. I don't care.... You should be washing your fruit if you are pressed about other people's bacteria... 😂😂😂❤ and I ain't going hell, it's the people who don't speak up and prioritize their own body and wants that's living in hell by their own will.... Unapologetically, PERIOD
I saw figs yesterday at the supermarket for 7 euro per pound like tff? I pick them off the tree for free here and eat them and I live in Greece Crete don't ask again
@@Sunnyfruit1111 Where in Crete, in the South or West of it? I was mainly in northern cities so maybe that's why I didn't see any fig trees. So I need to know if I visit again 😊
@@bluu389 I live north right next to Rethymnon city to a small "village" called Atsipopoulon. It's not really a village but close enough to be called one. I think villages in Crete are more likely to have fig trees rather than cities but maybe you didn't find the right places to look for fig trees. In my village Melidoni we also have fig trees and we own one as well 💜😋
