This is my BEST VALUE FOR MONEY air rifle count down based purely on the air rifles that I've reviewed this last year. It's lengthy so time stamps / chapters along with links to the actual reviews, can be found below.
If you're wondering how I got to these results...I use the data taken from measuring groups sizes and point of impacts and compare that against the cost of the rifle. It's IMPORTANT to remember that the cost of rifles shown is for the rifle only and not accessories. For PCPs I add an additional £400 to include air supply, scope and bi-pod. For springers I add an additional £150 for a scope.
REMEMBER...it's not an exact science! It's just the method I use.

Agree, the weather lately has been particularly awful and you’re not alone in the frustration of not being able to get out shooting Perhaps the older BSA Lightnings were better made as my .22 model which is approx 16 years old has given reliable results.

The cheapest pellet H & N Exite I use these in most of my rifles and I have a large collection of them, they a very accurate.

Hi @nickwebb9290...apologies for the late reply and thanks for your continued support. I'm struggling to find anything about BSA rifles that I like. It's true the stocks are beautiful but lets not forget, they're made by Minelli in Italy! And in truth, I tried an R12 recently and really did not like the pistol grip. My hands are big, but that thing just feels way too bulbous! By all accounts, there are a lot of unhappy BSA customers, so my experiences shooting their rifles is not uncommon. All the best.

Going to buy a HW97K tomorrow, had a HW77k in the 80s ,then progressed to PCP ,then shotguns and onto center fire ,stopped shooting 6 years ago a gave up my FAC ,yes I know I am a fool ,but fancied a air rifle again 😊

Hello. Interesting guns in this video.Like it much! Now to the gun I agree with you. The NR. 1!!! I own a .177 and a .22cal. Both in sub 12 fpe. Even when we in Norway have no power restrictions but it is more easy to shoot and sometimes for competition. The .177 had 17-18 fpe and I felt uncomfortable. Lot of tvang and vib`s! Both are lazer accurate at all distances. My best shut was at a "magpie real size paper target" at 95 yds. Heart lung. With the .177 and 10.34gr JSB pellet and that time in full power.Now in sub 12 it`s good for 50-60 meters in no wind ! Always half of an inch grop. Now back to the vid. Bye

Hi @carsmax...so jealous of your lack of restrictions in Norway! But saying that, we can get full power versions here in the UK but there's a lot of paperwork and background checks to go through. And it doesn't just stop with the shooter, the land that you shoot on also has to be rated as safe for that particular calibre of rifle. All the best and thanks for watching

@@theGunLocker we only have to visit police and do some paperwork when we register airguns more than 4,5mm cal. back ground check too,but usually no problem! Sport shooting is a acceptable reason.

Hi Mark, I thoroughly enjoyed that review, are "The Gunlocker" targets available on the web to download anywhere in PDF or jpeg format? - I like that arrangement and sizing 👍😉 Also could I ask what brand the Green/Grey Gun Rest is? I think that compact style will suit my purpose in the future. As for the Top 10, I was pleasantly surprised to see a fair balance between the calibres; expecting the .177 to be dominant and the .22's held their own 👍👍

I nominate my air arms s200 .22 as the best value, most accurate, great straight out of the box rifle Ever. Doesn't bother me it's single shot as I almost always kill first shot. Had an air arms s410 .22 carbine for 15years before another great gun for the money, had 10 shots and 10 kills many time's. Currently using H:N Baracuda 18gr pellets, again great pellets. Always used air arms diabolo field pellets before these.

It's a real shame that Air Arms don't make the S200 anymore. I've had a number of versions of the Tx , including the pro sport & their break barrel. The pro sport was a complete donkey as was the break barrel . Needless to say I went back to Wierauch Great guns out of the box . Air Arms are not on my wish list .

You could try the Chesterfield & District Rifle and Pistol Club: cdrpc.co.uk/#xl_xr_page_fees which caters for firearms and air rifles, or there is a small indoor range R8 Shooting Range (20m range) on Dunston Road in Chesterfield. I was a member of CDRP many moons ago and it had a great atmosphere then, what it's like now, I really couldn't say but worth finding out. As I have my own range, I no longer need there services, although I might take a run out to say hello and see what they have to offer now. All the best and thanks for watching!

@@jerrywarren6959 Hi Jerry, many thanks for that. I had a quick look at their site and it looks really good, seems like their range(s) might be open a lot more frequently than others I’ve found. I was also looking at East Midlands Regional Range (EMRR) as a good option too to check out. Have you come across that place at all? I’ll be checking these out as soon as I get settled and organised.

Just up graded from an RM8 to a HW100KT, so glad your range test was so good, hope I can get similar results when I eventually get out on the range, great review of all the rifles though.

Isnt it amazing we blame gear that’s made to micron tolerances with hi tech machining equipment but we don’t dare to look at our proven falable selves each of us carry idiosyncratic traits that guarantee variation……people are vain and funny.

You make the mistake of assuming that all gear is made to 'micron tolerances' as you put it. There's still plenty of poor quality workmanship to be found on many products across all industries and the airgun scene is no exception

I don't really see the point as it's never been my style of shooting. I come from a hunting back ground and I never took a shot unless I was rested on something...too high a risk of maiming an animal otherwise. All the best and thanks for watching

All of these guns are rather puny 12 fpe or less by American standards.

Yes they are and that's because we have a legal limit of 12 ft lbs before we have to apply for a firearms certificate (FAC). That said, if you can shoot one of these accurately at 40m, you've honed your shooting skills...makes shooting full power a lot easier. Yes you are very lucky in America to have the freedom to own rifles over 12 foot pounds. It's even worse for us in the UK as you can own a rifle close to the limit and if another pellet pushes it over you are deep shit. The problem with the UK the law only really affects the law abiding. Just imagine living in a country in which you could end up behind bars for going 1 mile an hour above the speed limit in which air temperature and all other factors affect the result. Yet in the UK regularly see kids on motor bikes without registration riding down the wrong side of the road causing havoc. Yet nothing is done on that score. There has even been a case in the UK when armed police turned up at a families home because kids were playing with toy guns in the Garden. Remember the UK is not the USA.

It's starting to get like the UK with some states passing laws on magazine limits and trying to ban rifles like the Armalite 15 and AK variants, they are just plain old semi auto not machine guns (which should not be taxed to own) but this is an air gun channel and wonder what y'all would think of the 72 caliber big bore air rifle that is a real power house,it can penatrate a 4+4 piece of lumber and break it in half,it can take a deer and some states it's legal to hunt with an air gun, can not recall who makes it but it has over 800 foot pounds of energy so how hard would it be to get a permit or license for one where you are, looks like a nice place
