I am in the fortunate position of being able to shoot a large selection of air rifles and with my experience of more than 45 years of shooting which includes pest control, small game and large game hunting, managing a pheasant shoot, and of course target shooting, I have gained some knowledge in this field. But I'm no expert!
Instead I like to think of myself as an enthusiast, someone that has hunting in his blood and shooting is second nature to me.
The reviews I post are honest and unbiased. I realize and accept that some people may disagree with my opinions, but my findings are based on my experience of using the item being reviewed...simple as that.

I think your gun shop needs to have a chat with Hills! It can fill bottles up to 7lt capacity. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best
Hi Mark. Good demonstration of the Hill pump. If i could offer one suggestion. Whenever you fill your bottle or direct to the rifle from a pump, it would be better to have the pump on the ground and the tank raised just in case any moisture persists in the system.
Hi Karl, first off...thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I normally have the compressor on the floor when I fill my rifles and will do when I fill the bottles. But for filming I needed to raise if off the ground so I could get it in shot. That said, I struggle to see how raising it off the ground would make any difference. The pump is pushing air through the system up to 300 bar. Surely there's more than enough pressure there to vapourize and lift water to the top of the highest building on the planet. Either way, the pump is fitted with Hills dry pack system for added protection against moisture ingress. Thanks again for watching and hope you don't take my reply abruptly in any way. I always struggle to reply by text without sounding harsh or stand offish. All the best
Hi and sorry for the delayed reply. Simple answer is no. And in all honesty, I wouldn't expect them to do so. It would open up their whole business to yet more scrutiny. There are some high profile reviewers that can say no wrong about BSA, but I'm not one of them. In my mind, they're average at best. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best
This might not be 100% the correct forum to bring this point up but anyone who is being put off buying the mark 3 hw77 because folk are saying it's impossible to use the iron sights due to the comb on the new shape stocks. This is simply not correct (or at least I have had absolutely no issues). Obviously, I can only speak for myself but all the forum posts on various sites saying it's unusable just needs to be checked out beforehand by visiting your gun shop to actually try one out!
No worries, I filled it up till 250 bar but not on its manometer but on the scuba tank. Then I was on the first red notch(you might have different manometer on it, I got a uniform notches type). Then I stored it in car in the sun and it upped by two notches or so. It has to withstand such situations. So to be totally safe if you’re scared fill it up to a real 240 bar measured on better manometer than on this rifle. Mine holds pressure very well but I can’t tell anything beyond 5 days because I shoot all the time. One more thing is that my moderator tube was slightly bent. I figured it out when I unscrewed it and saw it going up and down. I didn’t think it made any pressure on barrel since there is a quite a lot margin filled up by o-ring and bent part was at the front of barrel end. But I bent it almost to ideal state by pressing it against table with some spacers on ends and clamping with vice against a table. For some scopes it’s a good idea to rotate rail 180 like I see you did as well. I’m working on accuracy, I get 15mm grouping at 25 meters, I cleaned the barrel and will see if polishing is needed. But I’m also not sure if my scope is not fooling me, it was $50. Overall I’m pleased but some more quality control should be done at production.
Mark- please consider your safety use by turning to 'fire' only when ready to shoot rather than straight after loading when the muzzle is in the air. Your demonstration is not the best safety by swinging through a downward arc to the bench rest then finely adjusted to the target.
Hi @johnkiessling7459, apologies for the delay in replying. Yes it is. Where ever I go and what ever I rest my gun on, there is always some form of padding between the forestock and the rest. It's to protect the forestock more than anything. not so much of an issue with sub 12ft lbs, but full power (FAC) firearms generally have a fair amount of recoil and that can mark the stock if you're nor careful. Anyway, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best
Hi @bardot777, I just had to watch it again...9 months since it was posted. There were some gusts although admittedly when it came down to the last accuracy test and especially the last group, the wind did die down. So you've got me on that! Ha! Anyway, all the best and thanks for watching.
Hi @robertjohnson3096, apologies for the late reply. It does in some ways, but it's definitely an NP-03. Look at the titles and you'll see it clearly marked on the side of the action. All the best and thanks for watching
Hi @armandograndinetti8831, thanks for watching and my apologies for the late reply. The scope is a Center Point CP 4-16x50. I couldn't tell which mounts I used as I go through quite a few. All the best
Hi @alimenhem3348. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. For me, it has to be the Hi-Cap or Dazzle as it's known abroad. It's a lot less bulky, balances well, and feels great in the shoulder. I would prefer a butt stock with less play / movement within it, but it works. All the best and my apologies for the late reply.
Thank you very useful, I get a little confused about which guns I can buy with needing any certification, could you make it simple for me please? and again thank you very much.
Hi @birthing4blokes46. My apologies for the late reply...if you're based in the UK and provided you are over 18, you can purchase an air rifle without a firearms certicate (FAC) provided it produces less than 12 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle. For air pistols, the legal limit is 6 ft lbs. All the best
I’ve enjoyed your reviews mate and have agreed with your results for the most part. I have to say though that I’ve never had a BSA Scorpion that wasn’t spot on accurate.
Hi @Seamaster1963...I've heard a few people say that and it's a shame that it wasn't the case for me. The rifle I was given to review was bloody awful and the stock...honetsly, I haven't seen something of that poor quality in a long time. Anyway, thanks for watching and all the best. Apologies the delayed reply.
Its a beautiful gun with its ridiculously long weaver rail, just needs a stripdown and polish, Huma Air may be making a regulator for her as I emailed them and they were interested, on sale at Pellpax for £400 currently, my rebuilt P15 is very accurate and reliable and has a huma regulator
Hi @Thunder_Light207, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The issue I have is that a product no matter what it is, should be fit for purpose at point of sale. You shouldn't have to strip it down or fit after market parts for it to work. It so happened that the hammer spring on this rifle had been clipped by the importer to bring it under the 12 ft lbs limit. Rather than fit a purpose made spring, they cut corners to save a few pennies, and snipped the end off the existing spring. What's more, the cut end was sharp and would dig into the side of the housing, in a different position, each time it was shot. Sorry state of affairs and unfortunately all too common place these days. Apologies for the delay in replying
@@theGunLocker Hya, cutting the hanmer spring was rubbish for sure, lack of spare parts is a major downer, still a great looking and heavy bullpup, I got my P15 to shoot very accurately with a stripdown, polishes and a huma regulator 👍 Going to work on the M40S this week, silencer metal baffles will go for my usual hair curler/felt wraps and rubber washers, I have the M50 silencer adapter and it should fit this bullpup, also Huma do a M50 regulator but say the M40 is different, will get the P35 once the price is right, have a good day buddy 👍
That’s a low score I’m in the market for a rifle and has phoned 5 gun shops and asked what rifle would you buy if you had the money 4 said the air arms tx200 as for you thing about using parts from different manufacturers well most cars do this and other products so what’s the problem if it ends up as a good thing no trouble in purchasing it I think your wrong in your assessment very wrong indeed
Hi @philipwelsh1862...at the end of the day, it's my opinion and you are welcome to your own. The point I'm trying to make about using parts from other manufacturers does not relate to quality. In truth and more often than not, they are far better quality than the original manufacturer can produce himself. The point I'm trying to make is that far too many people say that the gun is made in the UK, when in truth, it is assembled in the UK. Casing point, there's a review just been posted about the BSA R12 Cayenne and the reviewer raves about the stock because he believes it to be beautiful. the stock is made by Minelli, an Italian company. And they are beautiful stocks, but they're not made in the UK or "Good old blighty" as the reviewer likes to call it. And when it comes down to preference between the TX200HC or the HW77K, I prefer the HW77K on which the TX200 was originally modelled in 1991. The HW77 was first introduced in 1983. You can call as many gun shops as you like, but it won't change my opinion, and whose to say the people you spoke to are springer shooters, most nowadays prefer PCPs. That said, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. All the best
@@theGunLocker It was your video that made my mind up for me! I got the HW100s and a set of Tier one rings and an Optisan FFP scope. It is an amazing rifle..
Sometimes the barrels need a little more of a crown polishing at both ends. These days there is no such thing as a really bad barrel. Just some of them need a bit of love out of the box.
Hi,,it was years ago that my meteor whos barrels were made the same way were brazed on and i had the barrel came off the locking block,,i sent it back to bsa and the ome i got back was smooth bored ?
After 5 years of owning the TX200 (not HC) and putting around 5000 shots through it, as well as watching many, many reviews, I have never seen anyone make such an ordeal of cocking it and being accurate with it. I feel like your frustration with your own ability to cock it may have affected your accuracy. You were visibly rattled, even when you forgot to take the safety off. Do you have a problem with your arm / shoulder? Was there a reason you wasn't just pulling it till it stopped? Have you tried others to make sure it isn't an issue with that particular rifle? This whole thing just seemed farcical.
I have red laminate d54 22cal love it but had put tblue thread locker on sled system and muzzle weight cuz keep working loose after that it's bad to bone.
You have done well to track down the ownership of Remington, I kept coming up against brick walls when I tried a couple of years back. Whilst I suspected Chinese ownership I was unable to prove this. It would appear that China now owns the bulk of North American and European civilian arms production, It does leave me wondering just how large a section of the worlds arms production is now in Chinese hands and whether these tentacles have spread into the numerous companies in the uk currently producing arms for the Government. And more importantly how will this effect our ability to defend ourselves over the next one hundred years. In view of world politics over the last forty years I am rather surprised that British, German and U.S. governments have allowed this situation to develop, There again considering the level of corruption to be found in world politics perhaps not so surprising.
Hi great video Im in a dilemma got the funds to pull the trigger on a pcp I know their is many of good guns out their but my heart is set on three and would like to know all your opinions on them and wich one would be the best buy Air arms s410 ? Air arms s510 ? Hw100kt ? Thanks
Hi ! I live in Europe, and before buying this Gamo, I watched several reviews. I did not understand why some say it is an excellent product and others say the opposite. After this video, I understood ! I totally understand why you feeling dupe by Gamo. Ps : sorry for my bad english. edit : if you want to by sure : The gas ram have a front sight, the springer doesn’t have it.
Your technique is totally wrong, those guns are as accurate as any pcp in the right hands. Firstly hold, you are not holding the front end at all, Spring guns need a gentle hold back and front and the same hold every shot. You are also snatching at the trigger and not holding for the follow through. As for pellet choice the 77 is not really pellet fussy as long as you use good grade pellets.
Hi, maybe you can help me. I own the Kervan Airboss 25 cal with a 500 barel. I would like to shoot slugs with my gun, but I don’t know what the twist rate is, do you have any idea what the twist rate is? I have also seen some people who have my gun but are using FX slug liners. I called FX, but they don’t know what I would need to make it fit on my gun. Are you using the standard barrel and what slugs are you using? I’m in Canada so the FPE is around 60 and the FPS is 1100 on my Gun. Thanks.
