I really hate the feeling of a soaking wet head and a dry body. is that weird? I hate when the water runs down my back. it disgusts me unless I'm I'm the shower. I'm so odd. that's why I hate wash and go's on me.
+Temickab b Try using a nylon cape. Below is a link to the one I purchased on Amazon and it works very well. Suggestion-turn it around and let the long part hang over your back with the tie in the front. My hair is literally the EXACT same curl pattern as yours. My front and crown are really loose, the back is not as loose as the front but it's still loose like 4b. But then the hair above my ears is really really thick, tight and kinky. So this is something I have to look forward to in a couple of months (since I will be two years natural in May) My hair will nearly be this length and hopeful look like this too!!!!!!!
Cynth the hair above my ears are the same!!! the back is bone straight, & the rest is curly like hers & the roots are very very smooth. last relaxer was fall 2015, 4 chops last yr. I'm wondering if my sides are so different bc I used to brush my hair back a lot when relaxed, sweat, or damaged from over the yrs. I have ever to use a very very thin light hair grease to seal in moisture above my ear & temple are
when you did the hair shake at toward the end, i was like daaannnggg that's a lot of hair lol! hair goals for sure. to get the max definition out of my curls, i would have to go strand by strand with my curl repairing cream and it definitely does take some time. i put them in twist with the cream and seal it in with come JBCO and the style last for a few days. i just spray some water and conditioner in it the next day to revive the flat and dryness. for the most part, i do a co-wash and go & define my curls in the front with my cream and i like the outcome (:
I love your hair. It's the closest to mine that I've seen online thus far. People always assume it's a twist-out, but it's just a wash-n-(gel)-n-go, LOL! I really like your video because I am trying to learn how to get my gelled curls to be softer. Sometimes they look like glue-clumped hard curls -- like I tried too hard. Once dry, they move like stiff boards. Videos like this are really helpful.
I would say we have the same curl pattern! I just did a wash n go myself today. Can't wait to see how it dries. Can't wait for big hair realness like you!
This has got to be the most simple wash and go I've seen as of yet. My curl pattern is rather similar to yours, and since unlocking my hair, I've been steadily searching for something that won't take me hours in the restroom ,as I lead a very busy lifestyle. And in addition to the shrinkage - that I don't fancy - with my hair also being low porosity, it takes FOREVER to dry. Thanks so much for the vid!
I think I've found my hair twin! I'm new on this journey and it's not quite that length yet, but it grows fast! Thanks for sharing your journey and helping us late-bloomers!! Beautiful results!!!
It is amazing to me how much your hair grew since October. I've been trying to document how much my hair has grown (I feel like it hasn't grown & I've been doing better with taking care of it) but I know patience is key lol . I just come and watch your videos and a couple other RU-vidrs to help motivate myself to continue on my path . You are gorgeous and a true inspiration . Your hair came out lovely as well lol . I'm a little over 8 months natural so hopefully I'll get where I want to be .
Yep....Over Saturation Is Works For Me. I Use A Lot Of Conditioner No Gel. I Take Small Sections And Saturate. It's All About Taming The Frizz. I'll Be Glad When A Light Weight Product Is Mastered To Give These Results But I Haven't Seen One As Of Yet. I Love My Curl Pattern...It Gives Me So Much Life!
+Tani when i leave conditioner only in my hair it stays white . How do you get rid of the white residue? Can gentle heat (blowdryer)help reduce the creamy look before filly frying? I like doing WnGs before going to work (mornings) but hate the look of product still in my hair while it air dries for the day. Somteimes im too busy on days off to do hair!
OMG, I love this procedure! I tried it with the products that I had on hand and I cannot use the gel as the last step, I used a 2 in 1 lotion/sealer that I have and the end result is FABULOUS!! Thanks so much!!!
I've finally found someone with the same texture as me I've been doing my wash n go's with just gel because I couldn't find products that go well with my texture but finally! I'm gonna try out the things you've paired with the gel! Sometimes I don't mind the hard hair when i want it to last but sometimes I be wanting it to be soft and not so stiff and I love your technique! Thank you so much for the video.
I don't subscribe to alot of people anymore but I had to subscribe to your channel. My hair was a 3c/4a texture that changed due to health problems and medications to 4a/4b. This is the first time I have ever seen someone with my exact texture; from the crown to the back and sides.
That curling cream is the truth! I used it yesterday for a trial wash n go and hair looked sooooo good! I didn't have any residue cuz I used the cream two days prior for a twist out, just dampened my hair and used gel.
Finally someone with my same exact curl patterns and porosity. For the longest time I thought that the front of my hair was heat damaged because my front and crown are so much looser than the rest.
what really helps with frizz is putting each section into half twists after I put the gel on it and let it dry half way before taking them out. It sounds like it would mess up the natural curl pattern and give you a twist out but it just helps to stretch the roots and prevent puffiness at the roots. I learned this from LiveNaturally Love YT channel
2 things. 1st it's crazy how similar our hair is. Literally the only difference is the length because you transitioned for 2 years and I transitioned for 16 months. The difference in 6 month of growth is crazy. 2nd I kinda have a similar method for my W&Gs but as my hair grows longer I find that the praying hands method actually works well to distribute product but rather than raking or shingling finger detangling is the best way to clump and define curls for me. What you taught me in this vid is that eco styler plays nicely with that cantu product which is pretty inexpensive in my country so I will definitely pick it up. Thank you for the heads up.
Uuummm...def trying this, i LITERALLY was JUST trying a wash n go and was like I need a better method, and seeing as how I JUST bought the green ego styler gel everyone is using, I hope it comes out good!
I never thought I would find someone with the same hair type as me. The back and sides of my hair are very coily while the crown and front have a looser curl pattern to wave. Yikes! I'm so excited. I love a wash n' go. Definitely going to get that coconut curling cream to try this method on my hair. Your hair is beautiful my darling. You definitely have to show us how you maintain that wash n' go over the course of a week. Thank you. :)
So after watching this I also have loose curls/waves in the front I thought it was damaged from tension or something but as its growing the roots are exactly the same. It has been driving me crazy my curls in the vey back I perfect but the front kind of curls when it wants.. I have grown to love it though just ran into a moisture retention issue can't seem to get moisture in right now I'm over a year post relaxer and officially 6months post big chop and the struggle has been real lol but I love this I haven't been able to accomplish a wash and go or a puff seem to be my weakness, I love my 3 strand twist out the best!!
Yes! Love the results, your looser curls are just like some of my curls :) I def will add a cream to my wash and go, i think thats what I need to break my annoying cast -_-
i did wash n go for the first time on monday to be precise the shingling method today is thursday my hair looks super shiny with well defined curls...try the shingling method girl think you will love the results... im your follower on insta and on here
Beautiful results! I used the blow dryer as you did and I was excited that it was dry quickly but I didn't realize doing it that way sends your hair in all different directions 😢. It was a tangled mess when I was ready to wash again. I hope you don't have the same problem.
Thank you so much. Just for every single video you have uploaded. You inspired me to start transitioning and I am definitely seeing a difference in texture. Once again thanks!
You are my hair twin. We have really similar hair patterns even my front and crown being a looser curl than the rest. I love wash and go's too so I'm going to try these products. I've used the curl cream but never on a wash and go.
I've yet to perfect a wash and go.... But you've inspired me to once again go for it. We have similar makeup of curl types (but I have less density). Thank you, I'll try out your technique.
Looking at your hair and reading these comments I didn't realize so many of us naturals were alike! Our hair texture and pattern are identical! Tighter in the back and on the sides, looser in the crown and in the front. My crown won't even hold a twist 😒 I always have to put a rubber band or something cause it's SO loose and almost out of place lol. My sides are predominantly gray so not only is it kinkier but it's also wirey. I LOVED your WnG results and will def be trying that curling cream!
I tried this and it worked great for me. I used a different leave in and gel but the results were fine. I'm going to use my Eco styler gel next time with the curling cream.
Love it! Thanks for the tutorial. I have a very similar curl pattern so I'm very excited to see how beautiful this WNG turned out. My go to has always been twist outs, but you have given me the confidence to try a WNG soon.
I always wanted a curly hair ...yeah ... people always want what they dont have ...because it is nearly impossible for me to curle my hair... that´s how straight they are... but after watching few of your videos... woow...maintainance of curly hair is soo hard ... really these girls with curly hair needs to take a lot of time and products to get them under control :OOOO ... but I must say at the end it looks great... you all curly haired girls have my respect :OOO
omg GREAT VIDEO. i definitely have to try using the canto curling cream with the eco styler gel. i also LOVED the close ups on your hair. i also post youtube videos on curly hair and fitness and when i get a better camera ill definitely add close ups while styling! thanks so much for sharing!
