I just found your channel today. I subscribed. I really enjoyed it. I am 71 and not able to get out so I truly like getting to watch book hauls. I love to read. I read 162 books last year. Thanks for sharing.
I can’t pass up a beautiful book either. I’ll second the recommendation for Wrong Place, Wrong Time. It’s really good! Also, Robin Hobb’s books are wonderful. She is an amazing writer and has a gift for creating complex characters with great arcs.
This was the first of your videos i've seen but based on this haul I feel like we've got such a similar taste in books! Interested in 99% of the books you showed Also your bookshelves look amazing!
You should read The death of a book seller, its more of a literary fiction, it is told through 2 povs, which is not my favorite so i was really surprised to have liked it as much as I did.
I’ve heard wonderful things about Witch Hat Atelier, I definitely want to give it a try! And I’ve never heard of Nausicaa, I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the recs! 💖
So, because you love the “Yellow paper” and “The Nursery” I must recommend “The nightbitch” by Rachel Yoder No sure if have read it, but if not, OMG - do it!
I’ve heard of that book but didn’t realize it was in the same vein as TYW and The Nursery! Thanks for letting me know, I’m definitely interested in it now!!
Whoa, was that The Phantom Tollbooth that went flying at the 7.30 mark?!? I loved that book as a kid and it's on my rereads list for this year. For Fantasy I'd absolutely recommend Joe Abercrombie. He's the only one so far who's scratched my G.R.R.M itch. For Manga I recommend Witch Hat Atelier. Re Junji Ito, I recommend Lovesickness and Smashed. For other Manga, I really want to read the Vinland Saga and Death Note, and those Drifting Classroom editions look really interesting! Btw, book UNhaul and bookshelf tour in the future, Kari?
Lol yes it was The Phantom Tollbooth!! It was one of my favorite books as a kid 😊 Thank you for all the recs! I’ve been meaning to look into Death Note, it’s one I’ve been hearing mentioned more and more As for an unhaul, I expanded my library twice last year so I’m not hurting for space but if that changes I will do an unhaul! And doing a bookshelf tour is on the to do list ☺️
They’re the “Penguin English Library” line of classics! They each have three stripes on the spine (orange on the sides and a different color in the middle) so they are actually bigger than they look ☺️
